Pardon my ignorance, but why don't shooting and archery have combined events for both genders?
Why do all of these women archers look out of shape? Also compound bow, ugh.

Hopefully if Turkey wins it can put the investment in required to actually win some medals. Not a fan of countries which don't win medals getting the games. Just me. I like rooting for the home team (when USA is not in the match of course) and Athens was depressing.

It's a recurve.
Um, did you see the men?
Probably because they're busy training every hour of every day to perfect their skills as archers, rather than training the same amount to physical perfection which is largely unnecessary in archery. Why do all of these women archers look out of shape? Also compound bow, ugh.
Yeah its pretty pathetic! They just set up a sports ministry last year, too little too late.

Why does everyone wear those kawaii-uguu~ chest protectors?
8 years is plenty of time to develop athletes for most sports.
I'm watching the Croatia vs. Angola handball match, but it's hard to learn the sport without commentary. Why do they sometimes dribble? Whats the dotted arch for around the perimeter? Aghh
Men would still dominate probably.
Maybe they had a massive archery orgy yesterday, and chest protectors were exchanged.
Lucky bastards![]()
Yeah, that can make a difference, especially in the wind.I dont know about shooting but there is a weight difference in the mens and womens bows for archery
Yeah, I think it would be far more interesting if those events simply determined the best shooter in the world, be it man or woman.Haven't seen a good reason yet, best score in team's event was by a women's team. I guess the olympics alway separate by genders, but in the 'world cup' or equivalent there's no excuse.
Wow. Now that is what you should aim for... that's mythical Robin Hood precision. My waifu would never engage in such activities.

"Walking’
If a handball player takes more than three steps without dribbling (bouncing the ball) or holds the ball for more than 3 seconds without bouncing it, shooting or passing, then that is deemed ‘walking’ and possession is lost.
'Double dribble’
Handball players cannot receive the ball and bounce it, then hold the ball, and bounce it again. This is termed ‘double dribble’ and is against the rules."
Dotted line: Free throw line.
Not really, it's just a question of depth of field. Some of the best olympic records are by women. Korean ladies team would compete for gold everytime, get that tradition everywhere and you're set.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're trained without them. It is better to become great at your sport without the stabilisers so when they're put on your performance is effortless.

Well for me it kinda ruins the sport, the rifle and pistol shooters have eye patches and special jackets that help them hold the gun. I'd rather see them simply test their shooting ability without the aids.
(Archery)
Things are close! 3-3
Being at work during the Olympics sucks so bad. Got 4 days off next week though![]()
