That went in. DAMN YOU AUSTRALIA !

Gotta love when that happens.

Watching the BBC commentators for Gymnastics is like reading the back of a DVD. It is so filtered with correctness it makes me sick. No personality traits remaining, just pure PR talk.

It would be great if we could have a running list of awesome matches for the less popular sports. Like so:

Day 1:
Italy vs. USA in men's archery team finals
Turkey - Brazil women volleyball
Women's 4x100 individual medley finals

Day 2:
Li (China) vs. Hsing (USA) for women's table tennis
China vs. S. Korea in women's archery team finals
Men's 4x100 Freestyle relay finals

I'm skimming through this thread to find interesting things to watch on BBC archives, but there's so many pages to go through O_O

VVV Don't have to limit this to the unpopular sports, but I figure everybody knows about the swimming finals anyway

There really are too many events going on--don't know what to watch.

Women's team archery final was good.
The swim races are pretty good, but don't know if that qualifies as a less popular sport.

Novikava and Yuliya don't even look like they should be in the same weight category. I'll have to pay attention to the scoreboard to see what the difference actually is.

Edit - I guess it could come down to height.

I hate to say this sometimes but I find Men's Gymnastics ultimately more entertaining. I think I like the events more.
I give the edge to the women's events, mostly because of the greater emphasis on artistry; and the beam is the event, IMO.

But my eyes prefer watching the men's. *.*

:O

So... who is this Jordyn Wieber, and why are they crying?
She had the third or fourth highest qualifying score for the all-around among all athletes (behind two teammates from USA), but since every country can only send two athletes she was disqualified.

Wait... she actually got all the way here without anyone realising they could only have two?

I'm sure they knew, it's just that she was pegged as the favorite for the all-around competition if I recall correctly.

Just shows how dominant the female gymnasts from America are going to be that of the top 4 in the world, they had 3 of the spots.

She's the World Champion and there's team. It's the same as Tennis Table, Chinese are Top 4 men and women, but they can only send 2 players each. It's a rule to make dominant countries less dominant.

I arrived in London at around noon and it has been crazy travelling to Stratford. My hotel is just a 10 minute walk from Olympic Park and I got my tickets for Boxing today and tomorrow, Table Tennis tomorrow and Weightlifting on Wednesday. Since they are all at the ExCel Arena that means I can't get into Olympic Park unless I can get a ticket to an event held there. So it's a shame I won't be able to visit the main centre of the games but I am excited nonetheless.
