lol always funny to read the "night-time pages" of the thread, when the Americans discuss the Olympics based on their primetime NBC coverage.
it's like a highlight reel of the previous 10-15 pages.

Oh shit, you can now open multiple nbc videos at the same time?
I got three right now.

This and the fact you can watch multiple brackets at the same time.... up yo game BBC.

Just got to wait for it to not crash.

I've noticed archery is the perfect sport to have in the background while you work.

Also, the announcer gave me a genuine LOL a few minutes ago. He said "Guys, we're live on NBC and the BBC! Lets make some noise!".

Sorry, I think that's only half true mate!

It's much easier to use doping in the buind up to the olympics if you live in a country that dosen't take the anti-doping seriously. There are drugs you can use under training that will be gone from your body under competition.

I don't know if it's fair to accuse China alone for that. The MLB in the US is apparently rife with doping and US professional sports has tons of money in it. They haven't stricken down any records or anything and implemented new policies in such a way that former dopers would have plenty of time to stop and not get caught.

Also, I find it hard to believe that China would have magic doping techniques that a scientific juggernaut like the US wouldn't.

Gonna catch a few Zzzs and hopefully wake up in time for tennis (Djokovic vs. Roddick)!

Novak, if you lose, I'm done with tennis -_-

I'm hoping Novak will be giving it his all, it seems a fair amount of tennis players haven't really been giving it their best effort. :(

Yup it's not fair at all imo. Overall Shiwen’s time was 25s slower than the men’s 400m. So what if she swam the last 100m faster? Maybe it was part of her game plan to conserve energy for the final stretch? If I recall correctly, she wasn’t exactly pushing herself to the limit in the earlier sections, was she?

Oh noes, it's mind boggling anyone can do better than the might yanks, so it must be dope. Fact is, all medallists in London 2012 are tested rigorously. If so, should accusations like this be tolerated without proof or be given grounds of legitimacy? Because what the Americans are doing is not only attempting to bring the games into disrepute (by implying London 2012 is not doing its job properly), but isn’t this sort of damaging accusation somewhat akin to defamation of character which is potentially litigious?

It can’t be just me who feels this sort of FUD by the yanks has some sort of racist labelling undertone behind it? Yeah let’s take advantage of this and attempt to label the Chinese as perennial cheats, never mind the fact that Shiwen and a lot of the Chinese swimmers are trained in Australia. So are the Aussies part of the doping scene now? Until proven otherwise, this sort of FUD by the Yanks has no place in the games, nor should it be tolerated or given any spotlight or grounds of legitimacy.

I never said american professional sports are clean, far from it. The less strict testing guidelines a sport/nation as, the more doping I would expect to find.

But China has a history of instituzionalising doping, so I understand skepticism about them

lol that was funny as hell on the usa vs egy foil.

Watson just started wiggling his foil around in circles when things were going no where, then Abou hit it a few times.
