Silver medalist are often less happy than bronze medalist because in perspective they almost got gold, while for bronze medalist, in perspective, they almost got nothing.

Looking back they will be happy, but after getting so close to getting a gold, almost tasting it...I mean come on, anyone would be devestated. Unless they were a huge underdog or something along those lines, but they weren't. They aren't poor sports at all, they are just passionate. Unless they start complaining about the results, I don't see how they could be considered poor sports in this situation.

Why would they be happy about not winning? I can understand if they were disrespectful in their loss but I would be upset too if I felt I could have won gold, and didn't.

Poor sports? They just go for gold, number one. To them the other medals don't matter.
That's not being a poor sport, that's called a winners mentality. And the lack of media training is the big difference here.
