The weakness of 3 at the back is pacy wingers who will drag your outside CBs towards the wings, Canada's quickest player isn't on the field anymore, so that's not really an issue.

Have you not been watching the last 15 minutes? The US dominated.
The problem is that the back three have been in terrible form tonight and letting Canada get easy chances. If they can't do their job, they need help.

There were a few times when I thought Canada had committed a foul, but the ref did nothing. Officiating has been somewhat equally bad except Canada got really screwed with the penalty kick.

As a referee, how the fuck are you going to impart yourself in a game like this by calling the goaltender for six seconds? Such fucking bullshit.

This has been the best match of the Olympics, men or women. So much excitement. So much drama. The US women are always fun to watch. PEACE.

This is quite possibly one of the worst refs I've ever seen. US has her in their pocket.

Did you watch the first half? The ref was calling fouls backwards multiple times on both teams. When it was a clear foul on USA, the ref called it on Canada and vice versa. It's a shame she really fucked up that handball though.

Horrible officiating!

Such a silly statement. The handball was a tough call for Canada but it's not something you don't see 9 times out of 10. If it hits someone's hand or arm in the penalty box (let alone two people), they're usually going to hedge towards giving a penalty.

That decision on the corner at the end was obviously the wrong one, but she had to make the call from well behind the play. Be made at the IOC for not having an additional line judge there to make that call.

I'm new to watching soccer. I was wondering does it matter when a player argues a call with the ref? Its not like they can get the call changed right?

Sometimes it does get changed, but very rarely and probably not due to the arguing (more likely due to consultation of the linesman).

Extra time!

Man, I don't mind if we lose to the US....but that third goal was some serious BULLSHIT.
That's what's getting me. I certainly don't mind if we lose because we'll still be in for a medal no matter what.

But that call was nonsense. We don't see that call often at all because I assumed no one really cared.

Penalty or not the keeper was a fool for holding on to the ball for so long that she gave away an indirect freekick. I mean that's 'keeping rule #1.

Even Shaka Hislop wouldn't have done that.

LOL at that epic tank job by the Spanish basketball team. 10-27 4th quarter to make sure they won't meet team USA until the gold medal match. Well done guys.

Is that something unique to women's football? Because in men's football unless you've put your hands up to near your chest they're never going to give a penalty. There's no way you can move in time to keep out of the way of a shot so they decide based on if you were trying to obstruct with your arms keep them out of the way.

I'm not Canadian or American, but I am a football fan and that was a really poor decision.

I watch football week in week out, every Liverpool game and as many others as I have time to. I have never, ever seen the "6 second rule" invoked for years and years now. It just doesn't happen.

It exists in the rulebook, but to be so strict about a minor, minor rule like that in a match of such importance is unheard of.
