Because it would have been nothing without the re-dive so it's better than going home empty handed, plus he probably felt the pressure from the media, wanting to get something for his dad etc

Daley was 7th in the last Olympics, the Chinese were favourites. Bronze is a result for him so he's happy. No is pissed because he was expected to win.
As is often the case, silver medal winners are less happy than bronze

Do you know his story? After everything he's been through, bronze is a fantastic achievement.
Adlington was portrayed as the nailed on favourite though... and was the reigning Olympic champion as well.
