Watching women basketball final, not sure why the NBC commentators wanted so much parity in women's basketball when I so enjoy watching the USA kicking some ass.

Esquiva would've won if he hadn't hugged the Japanese guy all the time. He lost 2 points due to that and lost 14-13.

Well, now he'll have to live with it.

Absolutely ridiculous. That boxe match. RIDICULOUS. The Japanese guy didn't get a penalty even though the ref warned him like 5 times. Plus he didn't fight, only defended.

Dear BBC, just because the athletics has finished, doesn't mean the Olympics have. There are still events going on tomorrow. Bit early for a final montage

BEST. OLYMPICS. EVER.

Was that earlier tonight?

Okay, that was just beautiful.

BBC deserves all the golds. License fee well spent.

This Olympics has pretty much silenced all calls for the end or massive reduction of the BBC. Compare the praise with the criticisms from the US (not sure if justified) and everyone is convinced.

These games will stay with me until I die.

Indeed, unsurpassed coverage. No other broadcaster in the world could match this, but that's it for the live sport for quite a while. The half ass F1 coverage doesn't count.

Still a terrible decision regarding the F1 and may well lead to the death of F1 in this country.

And there we are. Luke Campbell's boxing gold wasn't even mentioned on the BBC headlines, yet Daley's bronze was. Although that's the medias fault, not necessarily his fault.

Yessssssssssssssssssss. We have won the final of the Handball competition. Another Gold.
Our record in the last 12 years: 4 times champions in European competition, 1 time champions in world championship and a runner up and 2 gold medals in Olympics.

Rest of the world, are you even trying?

Yeah but every teenage girl in the country has never heard of Luke Campbell before today.

He's young and pretty so the media like him. The documentary about him made him look really down to earth, and he never comes across as a 'slick' media type IMO, he's just naturally good in front of the camera.

I hope he doesn't go for a media job though, he's young enough to have plenty of opportunities in diving still. I guess having golds at all levels except the Olympics means his main target would be rio and that's a long way off to commit to right now.

Yeah, when I chose to watch BBC for some stuff, their coverage is unparalleled. They do a much better job than CTV cuz they're publicly-funded (and thus no commercials). (Heck we get a BBC news channel here and I don't even think it has commercials from what I've seen.)

And their player is great.

I suppose that other events aren't covered as widely and as expansively as this.
