Holy crap. :O

Vita can fucking do this?

I think it's crazy how a third party developer is showing what the Vita can do better than what the first/second parties have done.

Here is the accompanying article from Polygon: Need for Speed Most Wanted on Vita is a 30-fps wonder

Nice! Thanks for this.

This part is interesting:

While the game's frame rate is floating at just under 30 frames a second, the same as the console version, Webster is sure they'll nail the rate and any slow down issues before the game hits.

The two major differences on the Vita are the 4-person mulitplayer cap, and the game's graphics, which required some "shortcuts" to land at the frame rate they were shooting for, Webster said.

"The (Vita) isn't quite as powerful as we were led to believe, but you only get to know that when you get down and dirty with it," he said.

Criterion is an AAA Studio.

Sony first party output on Vita is all by B teams or small team/studio with no experience , whoever I still think KZ:M might be the best looking game on Vita.

Thats interesting, I wonder if Sony underclocked the Vita.

Wow looks absolutely amazing, I dont suppose this could possibly be 60fps?

edit: nm, I scrolled up lulz

edit 2: Wow I didnt even realize the console version was 30fps, oops.

Assasins Creed, Virtua Tennis, and NFS Most Wanted - Vita already got some ridiculous good looking third party titles in its first year. Cant wait to see what game will look like 2-3 years from now.

Alright, I'm grabbing this. I hope there is no jankiness in the menus though. Madden is full featured on Vita but there is quite a bit of slowdown in the transitions that takes you out of the experience.

YES! I'm so glad Criterion kept this one in-house. I don't regret pre-ordering the game at Newegg now (only $29.99 thanks to their pre-order promo).

Wow, maybe my next NFS game since the first one. 2nd gen VITA games (like Killzone) look really nice O_o. Those
Spy Hunter
phone port games are a crime.

Why do people keep parroting this nonsense? The only first party Vita games not made by one of the main console teams is Uncharted and Resistance. Everything else has been made by the same teams that handle the console versions.

Anyways Critereon has always been good to Playstation and looks like it's continuing with Vita. Need For Speed looks insane, and only makes me wish EA was doing Medal of Honor as well. I'll be there day one for sure.

It's interesting to see how many people don't know what the Vita is capable of. There were a few really good graphical titles at launch, nothing this good, but still solid visually.

This just confirm the obvious, the hardware is fucking amazing, now it´s time to see if sony can attract the interest of more AAA developers like criterion.

Because it's mostly true. The two games you mentioned just so happen to be two of the biggest games to release during the Vita's early life.

It's just common sense that most publishers are not going to be putting their "A team" on a Vita project.

One of the things I recall hearing before the Vita's release is how easy it would be to port the console experience to the Vita. Now I know a lot of people don't like simple ports to the Vita but this got me excited because there are a few console experiences that I'd prefer to have on the go. EA has done a pretty good job of proving that you can port the experience so far. FIFA is a great example, Madden needs work but it's on the right track.

UMvC3 and Virtua Tennis were great console ports again, the former being not that taxing but still impressive.

The Vita is capable of a lot. That's why Vita fans get frustrated when they see crud like COD:BO:Declassified coming out when the system is obviously capable of more.

So this Announcment that the game is the PS3 version proves that Reistance was "GIMPED" on purpose?

Not on purpose. Resistance was fun but graphically underwhelming by a team who obviously didn't understand how to get the best out of that hardware.

Resistance wasn't horrible and it was fun like DoctorWho said. However, Nihilistic is most definitely not on par with Criterion games and that's ok. Not all of us can be winners. :)
