Yo, speak that truth, son!

I've never played Tekken, but dudes in the other thread were saying learning how to play Tekken is harder than most other fighters since there aren't really any other games that play similar to it as opposed to, say, Street Fighter and KOF. I guess that's true?
Edit: The specific quote: "Play something like SFAE and it'll give you a background where it'll be relatively easy to transition to every other 2d fighter that's not Mortal Kombat and P4A. Play Tekken, and you know how to play Tekken. "
DOA is like learning a bike in comparison. You just never forget it. SCV was kinda messy for me too. The supers make it fun to catch someone off guard though.More or less my experience with SCV. I had no idea how to take a characters moveset and pick and choose which moves were worth using in a match and I'd just get stomped by ambiguous looking low moves and shenanigans.
Namco 3D fighters man. They rough.
I don't know who came up with that. The game is slow as molasses compared to other fighting series and the lack of rolls really alienates it from everything else out there. Not to mention air blocking. Turbo on the on the other hand is like learning some good old fashioned algebra. You'll be using dat knowledge and thinking from the basics to mind bending calculus.I've never played Tekken, but dudes in the other thread were saying learning how to play Tekken is harder than most other fighters since there aren't really any other games that play similar to it as opposed to, say, Street Fighter and KOF. Which one of those has Bone claw Wolverine? Exactly
I'm playing TTT2 and I have no idea what I'm doing. This shit is nuts. I got VF5 down a lot faster. This is gonna make my experience with VSav look like a stroll in the park. :'((((
I have a feeling I'm gonna have an AE-like experience with TTT2 when it comes to applying the stuff I learn to other fighters.
I'm really liking Violet right now. Is there anyone who complements him well and works with noobs? Doesn't have to be one of the main characters. Someone who can link their stuff without having to move Heaven and Earth would do.It's overwhelming at first but it's entirely rewarding once you get past that entry barrier. It's actually one of the most rewarding games you can play.

Most uncontroversial opinion in the history of these threads.MVC2 has a better roster than Alpha 3, TTT2, the 1927 Yankees, and the 95' Bulls combined.

Hayato is my favorite MVC2 character and I played him a lot. Still do when I am not terribly concerned about winning. His LVL3 is boss as fuck.

My favorite mvc2 characters are Cable, Cyclops, Magneto, Sentinel, Psylocke, Captain Commando, and Storm.

you forgot doom
Jin can remove his clothes and turn gold.
So can I. He's nothing special.
Wait what? You can turn gold?
Most of those ultras were designed as charged moves(they are not available without charge and its implications) so they would be broken.I actually had a question for the AE warriors in here. How different would the combos of charge characters be if their Ultras were changed from charge motions to regular double QCF motions?
That wouldn't change because it would still only work on five characters. That has more to do with capcom wishing that extended hands would not fully hit at all.easier hundred hand slap into ultra. think about that.
He can't combo at all after hands FADC so I don't think it would be better. For Honda it would actually make FADC hundred hands worth doing.
It wasn't a particulary great fighting game but it was good and it had its fun moments. Combo breakers were a weird rock paper scissors mechanic(one of many artificial yomi attempts). People could play it like SF2 and still get wins. The risk reward ratio was very skewed in some characters. Some special moves also had very short block stun and it felt akward at times. Some things got better with 2. And I almost forgot, it was gorgeous! Best graphics around at the time.I have a question for you fighting game experts. Was Killer Instinct a good fighting game? Personally I loved the fast gameplay and the combos, but was it a good game gameplay mechanics wise? Would it work competitively for example?
But KI had an arcade release. Playing CF with the same 2 people with nothing to lose wasn't as fun.clayfighters 63 1/3> KI
OMG!!! Is there a youtube link somewhere pretty please? Nevermind, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgrZDxCNtjMCombo vs Fchamp at FGTV!!! FT10!!
This. Not really, very few characters are *really* charge characters. Furthermore, most of those oddball inputs are only for individual supers per character, not really their whole moveset. Q-bee is neither a charge character nor has a single RD-input move. Same with Sas, Jedah, or Felicia. That's 4 out of what...14? characters who are neither charge characters nor have RD style input moves. And again, those RD-style moves aren't really things like fireballs or DPs or things like that, very situational/setup style moves. Victor has a few charge moves but also has mostly normal motions and 360s.
It wasn't that bad, besides pet shop I think it was better than MvC2. Which is not a feat in itself, but it was still lots of fun. We had an arcade with the game here and a ban on petshop and it worked great for the few of us who played it. Again, thanks for the vids! <3It couldn't be worse than the broken-ass-ness of the Capcom fighter though.

Nah, SF footsies can help out a bunch in Tekken. Just watch how Valle plays TTT2.

Where is the love for Jin?

The coolest thing that ever came out of the versus series.I always liked Jin in MVC1 cause he can do that thing with Bloodia where he shoots shit up then goes into the first person thing.
