This obviously trumped killzone SF. The only areas I can really say Killzone has the advantage is art style, which is an opinionated answer.

Tho I want to see how close the console version of it will look to K:SF. Knowing Dice we probably won't see anything console side for awhile.

It's really something to trump Killzone GIFs.

DICE has seriously stepped up.

cant wait to get my mp on thats where shit shines. SP is fun, but my money goes into MP.

800+ hours on bf3 MP, I expect 800+ for bf4 mp. can't wait.

Did not watch the whole thing yet, but man - GAF is cranky, lol.
Looks great so far.

There was a lot of negativity regarding many of the recent releases. Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite etc. And they turned out all-right. People expecting some life changing, narrative driven, free roaming, non scripted masterpiece from BF4 are obviously going to be disappointed. I'd imagine what they are asking for just isn't viable yet budget wise. But for now, it's impressive and does seem to be at least trying with the characters and scripted moments, which didn't work well at all in BF3.

Meh, CODlefield...

Impressive tech but not much else. More of the same crap. Looks even duller than Crysis 3.

E3 gif?

As for this whole knife debate, I'll have to ask one of my paramedics tomorrow. It doesn't seem like to big a stretch if his femur really was crushed into nothingness, but that knife would have to be some crazy sort of sharp.

I love how people are completely nit picking this game. It basically gets to a point where you don't even notice the small shit unless you're looking for it.

How long until E3? Or at least MP information? I feel like a lot was left out. What about Land/Sea/Air, All out War, dynamic weather?

I know it's only a reveal but damn, there's a lot I want to know.

I'm really hoping this is PS4 footage.

No real-time reflections in the water? Lack of POM, or Tesselation? and the fact that the scenes at the end were much nicer looking. I hope this was on a dev-kit or something.

Still, I preordered.

EDIT: It seems some areas may have some POM or something, but it's not very widely used. Hopefully it's just an early build.

Nice physics on the sparks and the debris from the chopper.

Sorry if I'm killing anyone's browser, I have a thing for high framerate GIFs.

Looked impressive, although I wish more FPS would utilize a third person view when going into cover like Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I always felt that going into cover while still in first person mode looked and felt odd and didn't really give you the true visceral feeling of being behind cover. With next gen on the horizon, I'd like to see more evolution in core gameplay mechanics and not just visuals.

Rainbow Six Vegas games did this; made the gameplay so smooth

I wish Battlefield would have gone the more realistic route (like what MoH was supposed to be) instead of going completely shoot bang, but who am I kidding-- BF3's single player was a turd and I'll spend most of my time in multi anyways.

It cracks me up that it's getting the "current gen gameplay" and "I wanted to go into the distance and explore the city and do some shopping the the local mall".

Let's just make a world simulator amirite. I wanna be able to steal a truck and transport merchandise from city to city between military missions. Maybe even stop by and get a job selling T shirts in chinatown.

PC I believe, just by seeing the "E" and "R" keys where circle or triangle would be

There's a part where the protagonist leans out of a high speed moving vehicle and with one hand aims and fires a grenade launcher at an expensive, military grade helicopter that couldn't hit said vehicle in previous encounters. This all happens in slow motion while Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart plays.

Could you also ask him if someone could survive a 50ft drop flat on their back onto concrete.

I watched it again. Crazy. This is just the START of next gen consoles and parts briefly looked like reality. I cannot imagine what the devs will do after the first wave of launch titles.

And it was glorious.

I wonder if vehicles will have those crashing physics in multiplayer.
This game is going to be a great one to go back and watch in theater mode.

Eh, come on. I get what they mean.

We just have to wait a bit for next-gen to sttle in. The first wave isn't going to do anything groundbreaking. They're just really pretty versions of this gen's games.

Gameplay looks very by-the-numbers. It does look quite pretty, but I'm expecting (hoping) that next gen games look a lot better than that by a year or two into the PS4s life.

Not gonna front the Bonnie Tyler parts were funny as hell.

turrrnnnnnnnnnn arounnnd

Yea Killzone might have to sit out for awhile on this one. BF4 challenging it for Gif King

There were so many things in that video that were completely ridiculous.. maybe the writer will try to claim its satire Far Cry 3 style :P

I thought the gfx were excellent for early beta and I can't wait to see some multi-player. The only problem I had is it looked like the guy was playing using a controller which meant he couldn't aim/move/do anything smoothly. I'm not saying people can't do those things on controllers, but its always obvious when it looks like the main character doesn't have elbows or shoulders; movement is so awkward it really throws me out.

Sunglare is making it difficult for me to graphics. Don't really care anyway, so that works out fine.

Destructions don't seem improved at all really. Just different looking buildings to bang up. Hopefully there'll be more of that in multiplayer.

Looks like the sort of stuff I'd be interested in giving a go. I liked sequences in the BF3 SP but as a whole it really fell apart, like a soufle, or an angelfood cake.

But man the more I read these forums it seems the more people just want to play the same games they played 10 years ago which to me is fucking insane. It's like they don't want anything to change ever and they interpret every potential change from their cherished formula as an affront and proof of casualization, dumbification, chasing cod, mainstream blah blah blah blah blah.

Lol at knife that cuts leg cleanly in one move and shores that have huge depths few metters from the bariers :D

That said, impressive visuals. I just hope this was pretty stiched together, because if this intensivity is kept at all times, it will get tiring pretty fast..

Also..damn skycrappers covered in single colored cloth. Is DICE intentionaly torturing gamers by reminding us of Mirror's Edge?

3rd person gives you the "true visceral feeling of being behind cover"? I hope that's not what you mean by an evolution in game mechanics.

Yes, actually I do. Have you seen or played Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Being able to seamlessly bounce between third person and first person views when going in and out of cover was a valuable gameplay mechanic. From the footage I've seen so far from both BF4 and Killzone SF, there doesn't seem to be a very useful or engaging cover mechanic, which should be a BIG part of ANY first person shooter. Developers need to do more with the core mechanics. So far, all I've seen from "next gen" are current gen games, current gen mechanics, with prettier graphics.
