As much fun as I currently have with BF3 on the 360, I will not be buying BF4 for these current consoles. Just going to wait for the next gen versions, I mean, those have to be coming...right?

I don't have a gaming rig, otherwise I'd get it for PC.

AMD logo as official partner. Guess DICE jumped the nvidia ship right onto AMD.

I think BF4 on PS4 would sell like hot cakes and add legs. Why would you want to play this on PS3 when there is a brand new console launching around the same time.
Not me! But there is a large portion of people that don't buy into new consoles until year 2 or 3. It makes sense that they are still producing games for both generations, definitely when we're this early on.

I'll likely be getting this on the Durango, assuming that that thing really is roughly similar to the PS4. Microsoft has to show me their console still. All of my friends play on the 360 right now, but I'll make the jump to the PlayStation if I have to. Especially if it meant a better BF4 experience.
what do you mean? as in developers? probably none, these days, game engines are very scalable.
Ah okay, wasn't sure what kind of resources that took up. Still, the larger BF3 maps on the 360 and PS3 are somewhat different from the PC, to adjust for smaller player count. There still is some actual development to be done there.

Because owning a PC that costs as much as a car but needs upgrades and service more often - is a smart economic decision. [/sarcasm]

Welcome to next gen, friend.

It's not unprecedentedly pretty, but the PS4 (and Durango) version looking like the PC on high settings with a resolution of 1920x1080 and (hopefully) a framerate of 60fps would still be a pretty massive improvement over this:

...At 1280x704 and less than 30fps.

Thats how it looked on consoles? Ugh.

IT's funny though. The PS3 got all the BF3 exclusivity, yet the 360 version was always the most popular one.
Did they release sales data for BF3 (in terms of breakdown by platform)? According to BF3Stats, in terms of online the platform with the largest playerbase (both total and concurrent) is the PS3.

Me neither. Originally, I thought about waiting at least 6 months before buying a PS4 just to avoid the possible dry post-launch season generally expected from new system launches. But I had no idea PS4 will be launching with so many awesome games. BF4 alone will keep me busy for months on end. So I'll be getting a PS4+BF4+ how ever many other games I can afford on top of that.
it's going to be an awesome experience. :) I can almost feel the Youtube servers crackling under the pressure of all that bandwidth and uploading stress.

Just watched the trailer...so is this a movie or a game, because I'd rather just watch the movie they really want to make sans minimal game input from me. Also why didn't the PC just use the revolving grenade launcher against the Havoc earlier?

cause he wasn't hanging on to the moving car's door handle while being shot by the chopper of course

I know what a gaming rig costs - and i can buy a car for that.

Anyhow, why the hell are they even putting this on PS360? It's not like they're gonna improve the graphics or the player count on the current-gen consoles. It'll be BF3 v 1.2.1

Because it's called a video game. These things are 'interactive media'. They are all movies/stories with chunks of interactivity (gameplay) in-between, and vice versa. This art form is called interactive media because it is made of two parts; 'interactive' (as in user input) and media (as in visual, audio or usually a mix of both). Now, you can probably guess that the phrase 'video game' is a form of 'video' that can be 'played'.

I wouldn't feel comfortable riding around in a $500 car.

Current gen console players don't really know what they're missing so BF3 with improved maps and mechanics doesn't sound like a bad deal. Next year is going to be a completely different story.

All of us just said that's exactly why we are not going to buy current gen BF4.

Oh, you were serious? Lol. Wow. Care to tell me where you can buy a quality $500 car?

The video has over 5 million views. Has that been discussed yet? I think that's a great amount of views in two days.

Peoples are ready for next gen.

Promoting this video as a game for 360 feels so wrong.
Yeah, I just finished watching the XBL vid. The footage is pretty damn jaw dropping, and looks buttery smooth in 60 fps. Anyone that buys the 360 version after watching that video is going to be in for a big surprise. I mean, right at the beginning of the video, it says "the following is in game PC footage" or something like that, but I doubt the average joe is going to know that actually entails.

Wow, gramps. I don't think you've ever computer shopped before.

My 11 year old nephew built his own gaming PC for $500-ish from X-Mas money and a $100 from me. (he only got the money, no gifts). It runs Battlefield maxed @ 60+fps, and blows through anything else it touches. He also built it himself. I wanted him to understand how it goes together so he'd understand the importance of proper maintenance and so he could upgrade it himself. 11-years old.

He made it last X-Mas and now has a little over 25 Steam Games and a few Origin games, which is more than he has ever owned for 360 and PS3 combined, at a fraction of the cost. Steam sales ensure that he never needs to save up his allowance to get great games that he wants, and Free 2 Play games satiate a lot of his gaming needs. (We play Warframe, Planetside 2, Etc. together).

My PC, which is only marginally better than his, was built with around $800+ and I own 169 Steam Games, as well as 20+ Origin Games. Mor than I've ever owned for all my other consoles combined. I also play(ed) through 70% of them and actively play them daily, so there's that.

In addition, we both play with controllers, while sitting back in a couch/Chair or our own beds, when we want to.

Why is this thought still prevalent?

I'm pretty sure that a $500 PC isn't gonna produce those visuals shown in the BF4 gameplay trailer.

I'm pretty sure (Hopeful) that that video was PS4 footage, because although some of the effects were shiny, the tech wasn't so impressive. (Beyond the shadows) The water wasn't reflective, or didn't reflect everything, there was a serious lack of tesselation on everything, and if felt like more optimized BF3 whish atm runs around 80fps on my current rig, while downsampling.

I believe it's been said to be PC footage, the game was running on an AMD 7990 apparently.

What did you expect? E and F buttons on the PS4 controller?

The button prompts gave way its Platform with keyboard letters

Well, the way he moves, it's pretty close to a controller's movement, at least, my mouse doesn't move like that. Also, I had hoped it was being played on a dev kit, or a PC mirroring PS4 specs.

Like I said, the Controller movement made me hopeful that this was a Console build. Either way, I'm less impressed.

I'll have a guess and say people who own a PS3 but do not own a PS4.... but that is just a stab in the dark.

The XBL video is 60fps? I haven't watched it myself yet but judging by what you're saying...?
