Destiny Gameplay Premiere

Aside from Bungie's world building aspect of it, I wasn't really interested before. But after tonight's demo, I think I'm on board. Looks pretty fun.

And the lighting in the demo looked great.

while I think everything looked amazing and somewhat solid, I however felt like the enemies were all bullet sponges and no real damage was being done unless magic was involved. Kinda bother me cause i feel everyone is gonna pick a warlock class.

Yeah, I'm kind of worried about the bullet sponge enemies, too. They didn't seem to be nearly as unique as the Covenant in Halo. No particular strategies, except with the walking vehicle thing. Otherwise, just shoot till dead.

This was one of the most delightful things that I've seen so far. I think there's a lot of potential, and I can't wait to dig into it.

Having not played any of the Halo or Borderlands games (and also haven't seen Titanfall), this game looks AMAZING and the set pieces and armors look so cool!

Hey guys. OP has been updated with several links. Check and let me know if I missed anything!

What a demo. That was the game of E3 for me so far, and I don't see anything topping it. The music, the presentation, the atmosphere, the sense of wonder and mystery, a focus on gameplay and unscripted battles...it was way beyond anything I had ever imagined it would be. I was extremely hyped for Destiny, and this surpassed my expectations. Kind of worried I won't be able to find a PS4 by time Destiny launches, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Destiny looks fucking awesome. Will be playing it on PS4 day 1. Cannot wait.

Not a Jellyfish

but I am a sheep
This and the price point sold me on PS4.

Sorry 343 you didn't advance Halo, while Destiny looks like a true connected experience that advances their 30 seconds of fun philosophy.

Super excited!

PS4 version for sure. Also I think the 343 Guilty Spark look-alike sounded like Peter Dinklage, which is fucking awesome.

This is the trailer you want.

Both trailers you linked were before the conference.

My interest for this game was literally at 0% before E3, up to 20% with IGN's "What We Know About Destiny" video a couple of days ago, and then shot up to 100% after that gameplay demo.

It looked good. The gameplay looked like a really uninspired Borderlands clone or Diablo-FPS if you will and this is coming from someone who has enjoyed the gameplay of every Bungie Halo game made.

I'm not writing it off or anything, but I was expecting more.

I feel the same way. I'm sure it'll be great, but the demo was kinda dull.

Damn, game looks pretty fucking great.

Next gen graphics really impress me allready.

Gameplaywise it's a shooter. But it seems like a good shooter.

So I wasn't aware that this was going to have randomized loot and stats-based combat. That's a bit disappointing, as I don't think I'll be able to get my Halo multiplayer friends to get into the game. On the other hand, maybe this will make the game more interesting playing on my own.

So hyped for this. Was sort apathetic before today, but I loved the art style and atmosphere of the world and the combat seemed solid. Like the loot aspect also.

Confident that Bungie will deliver something great here.

I really really want to like this game but there seemed to be too much generic gunplay for me.. I hope that changes. I need to see more...

gameplay looked very meh to me, i mean they had different classes, why not try to emphasize what are the pros and cons of the classes and team work? They even had that trailer about a wolf pack story.

but in the premier all you see is your typical run and gun, shoot anything that moves, use some ability every now and then. imo it was a weak showing for me, titanfall looked way fun than this.

Re-watching the live gameplay demo. Some thoughts:

1. I wanted to re-emphasize how great the atmosphere is with the animals, skybox, the sound design, the music, and the art direction. Coupled all that with the a huge sense of scale, and you make for some fantastic places to explore.
2. "We also visit such cheerful places." A Halo callback. Cortona says "You always take me to such nice places" on the level "Delta Halo" in Halo 2.
3. Speaking of the AI, there can't be a Bungie game with an AI companion, and here he is! Was wondering how they were going to incorporate that.
4. The AI talks to himself. The lore of both Myth and Halo, if I'm not mistaken, has rampancy as a story point. Will it be in the Destiny universe?
5. UI is great. cc: @David Candland.
6. Game isn't finished, but hoping to see stronger visual and audio feedback from enemies.
7. Hoping you're as accurate shooting from the hip as you are aiming down the sights.
8. Bungie seems to have retained their fantastic ability to mask where enemies spawn.
9. Good to see that Bungie respects its female characters. The armor isn't ridiculous.
10. If you die, you can't spawn unless your partner revives you. Like Halo's co-op model, which I always enjoyed.
11. Loot! Loot is fun.
12. "Male human warlock." Are there other species?
13. An inventory system with an upgrade system for weapons. Sweet.
14. Glimmer? Weapon kit? We'll know these in due time.
15. Jason Jones says, "Shut up and get behind me." A possible callback to another Halo moment. It's from a section in Truth and Reconciliation called "Shut up and get behind me...Sir."
16. Public Events. Really curious to see who these play out in the final game. It seems like a battle where a huge number of people can join up at once. How do you time that, though?
17. Oh, those vehicles look like so much fun.
18. So much chaos and madness. I love it.
19. From what I can tell, there isn't any discernible health system for the player here. I'm assuming it'll have shields.

I dont know i think i over hyped my expectations.
I left a bit disappointed. Hope for a pc release dont think i will get a next gen console before 2015.

Looks GREAT. Gameplay looked like all the other FPS that I've seen over the years. Saturation is rearing it's ugly head me thinks.
