Destiny Gameplay Premiere

Honestly, I think this is one of the best looking first person shooters I have seen in ages. It looked so damn good on the PS4 as well. Day one.

The art style and setting don't grab me nearly as strongly as Halo's, but the gameplay looks more than solid. Like Brashnir pointed out, it's impossible to miss the derivative nature of Destiny, but hey, at least Bungie's ripping off themselves and not a different studio.

I'll buy it, I'll play it, and I'm sure I'll love it. I just hope Bungie really ups the ante with exotic locales that hint at deep lore. That's what drew me into the original Halo back when I thought I would never like a shooter.

Really loved the environments and enemy design. And I like loot-based co-op games.

Still, not sure what I was expecting but that wasn't quite it. I like Halo for the enemy AI and fun weapons, didn't see much of those things in this demo.

I'd like them to clarify what exactly their game is as well...it has a singleplayer plotline, but it's co-op, and sometimes has MMO elements with people joining together for events? Or is it something else? Is there versus multiplayer or is it pure co-op? I'm sure the answers to these things are somewhere but I didn't get them from that trailer.

I am interested in this, but will it have a monthly fee?

Seems like ive read some of the marketing recently and they are still touting it as a MMO.

It looks very good and reminds me of Defiance/Borderlands/Guild Wars 2 all mixed into one with the public events going off of dynamic events in GW2, and the whole look at mmofps feel comes from Defiance/Borderlands. Still though, interested to see what they have in store.

ps3 i guess

also does anyone know of a link to the 12 minutes of gameplay that doesn't look like shit and play at 15fps

I believe they've explicitly said no to this, but I apologize for being too lazy to dig up the quote.

I thought the footage looked great visually - I wasn't sold though until that open battle at the end - man, that immediately elicited memories of the best Bungie Halo moments, both campaign and multiplayer; if they can recapture those gameplay peaks, I will be so happy.

That looked so much better than the little we've seen before though, that I have a feeling some people worked very late hours to get that little slice polished up and primed..

Bungie has really stepped it up for Destiny in the art department. Everything I've seen so for looks great.

Looks great. I hope other areas are more open, more sandboxy. Looks like they picked a smallish indoors area to show. But goddamn was it pretty, and the co-op play looked fun up (up to and including Jones dying during the first boss fight, hah).

Very excited about the co-op focus; I won't even be touching the competitive side of things. Halo has always been about sandbox encounters with AI, and co-op shenanegans, for me.

Really bummed about ADS in the game, though. I hope those are specific to a few weapons, not a universal feature. I have yet to play a game with ADS I enjoyed, but I'll roll with it this once.

The music in the gameplay trailer (add this to the OP Dax!) is beautiful; I hope that's the theme we hear running through it.

It's so open! Oh my God, it looks like that entire area is player space. I am so excited.

I did kinda get a bit of a borderlands vibe at first but then it felt more like what Marathon would've been had it been current/next gen. I am more than excited for this game.
The art direction and the visuals are just what I did not expect in the final product. This game is GOTY already, isn't even 2014 yet. (It'll be interesting to watch Destiny and Halo 5 battle it out next year)

PS4 DestinyGAF right hurr

Man I'm gonna be all over this at launch. Getting some serious Halo+Borderlands vibes here. I trust Bungie completely.

Eh, it just looks like another shooter with a generic "save the world from invading aliens" plot. Since 343 ruined Halo hopefully the multiplayer will be fun though.

Bungie met my expectations with that gameplay reveal and I absolutely loved it. The random game event was what excited me the most. The sheer amount of possibilities in this game interest me so much.

Wasn't expecting much off of this but DAMN

-Great visuals
-Awesome designs, really fresh looking mix of brown / ruined world and sleek / shiny world that we see too much these days
-Gameplay looks fun, running through that ruined complex with a buddy will be pretty cool
-That dynamic shadow muscle-flexing, alright I'll bite it's fuckin cool looking

I was really skeptical of this game during its reveal months back, but this gameplay premiere really changed my mind. Totally on board now.

The game looks like it has awesome potential, but the demo itself was pretty bad.

Maybe I was just getting annoyed at the really forced sounding conversation between the people playing it.

The interface is also beautiful, so so clean, really refreshing that there is not a total garbage overload of glowy digital shapes busting out at you.

This looked so much better than Titan. I am baffled with the Titan hype. That game does not look like a next gen game. The world is not immersive.

Had zero interest when this was first announced but that demo blew me away. When that spaceship warped in and knocked down those towers in the distance my jaw dropped. Such amazing scale.

Wow, Bungie die it again. They recaptured the magic that was missing in the shitty Halo 4. In just over 12 minutes from the gameplay demo, you could tell it felt like a Halo game. Also, the borderland aspects are great in my book since i love that series as well.

Not every game has to have an immersive world to be interesting. I'm drawn to Titanfall because it looks like a really fun, manic competitive FPS. It seems like it goes for a small map, arena FPS feel, which I really love.

Destiny, on the other hand, looks like an expansive, epic co-op space opera. Both sound awesome to me. :)

looks alright to me, but something about the aiming controls looked off to me even though I'm sure they'll tune it up for release
