Looks like someone does not pay attention to EVO.
What?
All footage I watched involved fight sticks.
So you're debating folks who are the exception over the rule?

Awesome. Delay doesn't bother me, as my 360 controller isn't going to magically stop working. They actually did confirm the PC comparability, but the software for PC won't be ready until 2014, so its not going to fully work at launch on PC. They said they have to make sure old games will be able to work with the new controller.
Are YOU trolling?
What gamer serious about fighting games uses a controller? If you're not using a fight stick, you're not that interested in fighting games.
I'm not even into fighting games to,anywhere near the level I was in the 90's and I own 2 arcade sticks for my 360.
God, at least try and troll better.
Or better yet, read about what went into the controller and everything they tried out. Speakers, touch screens, odor emitters, the lot.
You really don't see why people think is way too expensive to being made?
You are just trolling or truly blind.
The 360 controller sucks for fighting games, that alone does not make it the best.
Not trolling, I did read it. I was talking about it's end result, and if it was only really basically a button shift and giving it an ACTUAL d-pad, that seems like it was all just a waste of money, TBH.
Is this some sort of patented Microsoft Fuzzy Marketing Math again? 100m for the controller and 3000m for the chips?
Has anyone shed light on what the usual cost of R&D for a controller is? I don't see any reason why people shouldn't be shocked by such a big number.
So what you're saying is that we should really be viewing it as a negative that they spent SO LITTLE. $100 million? Why not $200 million? Why not half a billion? Nothing's too good for this controller! More jobs! More make-work!God forbid Microsoft, a multi billion dollar company, pays its employees a good salary or, even better, hires an extraordinary amount of people to create the product, thus, creating more jobs.
The controller probably shouldn't have been that expensive but there is absolutely no reason why this should be considered a negative.
$100 million R&D vs $5 billion in sales
Seems reasonable.
And fighting games were DEAD when 360 came out. And it's the best pad because its by far the best for platformers, sports games, racing, first person, third person... You know... The most popular genres...
Ps I wish we got odor emitters
100 million dollars in R&D? This shit better shoot lazers.Does it need to look significantly different?
A lot of people that have held both next gen controllers like the DS4 better.100 Million to make the best controller even better. Chump change to the likes of Microsoft but still improvements across the board. I can't wait to get my hands on the Xbox One controller!

How do the new triggers feel?
I didn't know this. Any links to these impressions?

Some people in the industry actually clarified what the average costs are to develop in that thread right? I don't think that has happened here yet.Reminds me of the Skullgirls debacle.
In before "The Homer".
I still don't understand how the 360 joypad got crowned best Pad last generation, when the D-pas was not just flawed but "completely" broken.
Wecan say its because of the sticks, well that doesn't cover it.

Got my hands on it at e3. Baffled me that they spent all this time and money to make a controller worse than the one they already have.
Removable Batteries > Built-in Batteries.

For all my misgivings about MS and concerns about XB1, I have to say the 360 controller is pretty much perfection. If the Dpad wasn't so sloppy, it'd be perfect.
Why spend $100m redesigning something that's already perfect, and come up with something that looks extremely similar?
it cost $100m and still doesn't have come with a built in rechargeable battery pack! suck that first post! WOOO!
What changed?
Does not compute.

D-pad is better, ergonomics are much worse. It feels much bulkier in the hand, more like an Xbox Controller S. Whereas the PS4 controller feels like a dramatic improvement on par with the 360 pad. Really disappointed coming away from hands on time with the Xbox One controller.
