is remote play via home network only? if im at a hotel can I still remote play?
I don't get it, why is PS4 remote play so much better then PS3 remote play.

my TV has quite noticable input lag, so if i stream to vita = less input lag?

With magical WiFi. No home router required.

That rules out COD... no? It's extremely fast paced giving a giant disadvantage online
That moment when when Knack jumps from balcony to the road below. There is a instant camera change, and I think both TV and Vita switched at the exact same time.
I will try to GIF it...
Do we know how fast the internet connection is? I heard someone mention that you can already do this with ps3, how is the quality and latency with the ps3 and vita combo?
So I guess the odds of Sony releasing a Vita super-lite only with remote-play functionality is probably zero right? I have no interest in Vita games or spending $200 for what would essentially just be a sweet controller.
Wait so a console coming out 7 years later & built with second screens in mind does remote play better than the old console? amazing!
Don't you mean the new Vita? Well, the new Vita's probably a better idea in case they want to seriously branch out into playing it, given that it has a GB of memory.Buy second hand Vita, you dont need a memory card for it.
I will be interested to see what range does to the connection. Can we assume the VTV will be even better?
i gotta say I really wasn't expecting much of Vita PS4 Remote Play, but the positive impressions coming out of TGS are making me a believer.
In the current PS3+Vita remote play situation, how is the private network connection made? Does it still use your router or do they use some other signal like bluetooth or something?

I noticed lag in the video, and there's screens which demonstrate this.
Shouldn't be a big problem for single player games, but could be an issue in multiplayer.
If this works as promised I'm very excited for it. I have no interest in the Vita by itself but if I can actually stream all my PS4 games with very very little lag and no graphical downgrade then I will absolutely buy a Vita for it.
Have they said anything about the range for this? Will it work through walls and such? Sorry if that's a dumb question I don't really know how the tech works for this stuff.
Do we know which model that TV is? We need to also add the TV input lag on to that figure to get the total.
Looks great, and is one of the bigger reasons I might go PS4 over XB1.
MS should get some off TV play stuff working with Smart Glass somehow.
Looks like the Sony KDL-R550A.
According to the displaylag database, input lag on the 50" model is 29ms.
