wasn't confirmed. Guess we'll see.So....Eugene is dead right? Abraham definitely killed him?
Just know that I immediately realized I missed the K in the name but was just way too lazy to edit it![]()
ok, i was hoping that the walking dead was approaching the end with eugene having the "cure". i had my doubts about him, but it seems that it will drag on for several seasons.
With the way Eugene was 'running' from those walkers, I'm surprised he survived long enough to even find Abe.
Although with how manipulative he is, I wonder if he purposely lured walkers over to someone who looked tough so they could 'save' him. It's sort of that psychological effect where if you get someone to do you a favor, they are more inclined to do you more favors.
So get someone to 'save' you and they will keep you alive. They have already invested in you and are psychologically driven to see that investment 'pay off'.
Maybe I'm thinking too much about it, but that scene was too silly otherwise. He wasn't even trying to get away from those zombies. I refuse to believe anyone is that helpless. It had to have been a ploy.
"I'm smarter than you"I think you hit the nail on the head. Eugene's pathetic run coupled with the weak "S-save me!" was obviously just a put on in order to manipulate Abraham into protecting him.
"I'm smarter than you"
It really is a great moment though when you realize that Eugene basically saved Abraham's life and then it cuts to the rpesent. Thought that was really well done.
Also, the show fleshed out Eugene a lot more than the comic. He didn't do or say much in the comic and the instant he came clean about lying he vanished. Been awhile since I read the comic but I think Rick and Abraham just abandon him.

I'm guessing Eugene killing the Army truck with the M16 last season was an "accident" also.
(comic spoiler)He helps the group make ammo and plays a crucial role in All Out War.
Bingooo
Are you serious with this post?Best episode of the Walking Dead... Which isn't saying much, but still... Characters like Eugene and Abrahams are so ridiculously stupid and fun that's it's depressing to think the show is going back to the dreadful rest of the cast next episode. Show needs more colorful characters.
Damn I wanted to see what the characters looked like in the comic and came across a spoiler![]()

"which isn't saying much"
"dreadful rest of the cast"
I think I remember your user name from earlier in TWD threads always shitting on it like this. That legit made me smh in disgust. Give it a damn rest.
Did Eugene really say the walkers are getting faster? Holy shit mr. "scientist" has no cardio even compared to Dale.
I thought Eugene really was a scientist, didn't see this reveal coming.
"That's classified." Killing the truck accidentally on purpose. Never in a hurry to move forward to DC.There's no reason not to believe him unless you purposefully mistrust every character on the show. There weren't any hints that I can recall.
This was one of the better episodes in a long time but let's not go overboard with the defense force here. Its a pretty flawed show overall. Are you serious with this post?

It's kinda' obvious if you think about it. Scientist with a mullet, talks about videogames, gives vague answers about his mission.
Or you didn't interpret clues as clues. His actions have long been consistent with not being who he said he was. The writers even drew attention to that fact this very episode by having Maggie say it aloud (while meaning something other than an accusation, but the double meaning is a floodlight): "You're not the person people think you are".1. He's a dick.
2. His excuse about not being useful once they got to DC, while flimsy/stupid, isn't hard to believe on this show. I'm sure it's happened before (can't remember right now) where another character feels depressed/useless and someone else gives them a pep talk saying you mean a lot to us, so on and so on, then the character feels better. I'm almost certain other characters have sabotaged the groups efforts, I just can't remember who/what right now.
3. Preferring safety/security, at least temporarily to regroup, as opposed to moving quickly all the time. Almost every other character except Abe felt this way.

The truck I'm talking about is from last season, and his only excuse then was his inexperience with a rifle, contrasted against Abraham's firsthand knowledge of the vehicle having survived far worse and (initial) disbelief in Eugene's ability to accidentally cripple it. In hindsight it adds a veneer of possibility that Eugene knew precisely where to hurt it, no? That's the clue I'm talking about. The church bus is a clue unto itself. Makes him look like a patterned serial killer of vehicles. The only "clue" is sabotaging the truck, and his excuse was dumb, but not in the context of the show which has had lots of characters say and do dumb things which didn't end in a dramatic reveal, just a simple moral or psychological failure. It just wasn't a huge red flag to me.

That was the excuse he used, but it's not entirely consistent with the guy being smart enough to concoct a mission to keep Abraham on the hook and Macgyver numerous situations along the way. Guy that smart doesn't pick up a gun he says he doesn't know how to use unless he's okay with something awful happening, like shooting the gas tank at point blank (accidentally on purpose).I actually don't remember that so I can't say, but I would've likely thought it was just because he was a scared nerd who didn't know how to shoot (which is true anyway). But yes that makes sense in hindsight.
So....Eugene is dead right? Abraham definitely killed him?
