Very entertaining episode. But yeah, the contrivance with the slaughter pig trough scene was just so damn thick. Slaughter all the unnamed (except for maybe the first guy) and save Glenn at the last minute.

I know it seems that Mary is dead, but well, it's hard to actually believe on this show when they don't show it on screen, like the guy Tyreese supposedly killed. She seemed like too important a character to have an offscreen death.

And I guess Gareth will be back eventually. I'm glad they didn't spend too much time with the flashback scenes showing how they became evil. We had enough drawn out backstory with the Governor.

And yay Morgan! :)

And yet again it seems like they ratchet up the gruesome gore somehow. The first scene was pretty sickening.

Yeah I don't think this super organized clinical cannibal community is very plausible. Seems like a ridiculous leap that more than a few of them would be ok with this idea. Which is why I'm glad it came to a head all in one episode and it doesn't matter one way or another why all the dead people went along with it.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
And who would stop those guys who didn't go along with it from killing the cannibals? They had plenty of guns.

So did the group after they killed the group that did them wrong.

Their motivation for cannibalism just doesn't make sense.

Yes it does. It's "kill or be killed."/"Fuck you, I got mine." Just in the case of "I got mine," they are getting a bonus in clothes, "food," and safety from people that they think are going to betray them like that group of rapists and killers did.

They "snapped" and don't trust barely anyone. It's only in Carol's cold guerrilla warfare that Mary flat out said "you know, you could've possibly been one of us." Simply because unlike Rick and the rest of the Company in his group, Carol simply doesn't care about saving as many lives as possible except her own and "the group" (before Rick kicked her out anyway)

How do they eat people?
When they kill a victim wont their corpse turn?
Dont they need to be alive or something to eat them?

It appeared that they dried the ones they didn't eat right away. The game makes it sound like the meat goes bad if it isn't fresh, but I guess these guys were either consuming fast enough or jerky was a viable solution and oh why am I talking about cannibal jerky

And again, you're assuming that every single one of them was okay with this? I can believe a single dude going nuts and being a cannibal and killing anyone he comes across. I can believe that a small group would do the same (which it was in the original comic, and made more sense) but a BIG group of people, around 40-50 or so all being a-okay with cannibalism and killing any and everyone? No one left? No one said "Fuck you Mac dude, we're not cannibals!" and tried to kill him?

It doesn't make any sense.

If they're starving then okay but they had the ability to get food through other means.

Or maybe the one's that weren't totally okay with it, were scared shitless into submission by the ones that were ruthless cannibals

Holy shit that bottle rocket was the worst thing I've seen in a long time. What terrible writing.

Enjoyable episode though, thank god they didn't linger around that place any longer.

Then why not leave or turn against them?

The motivation just doesn't make sense.
When people fear their lives are at stake (here being by outsides groups/threats), they'll perform all kinds of mental gymnastics to justify doing what is necessary to survive.

And in this case, you'd be living with a leader who has no hesitation and remorse towards chopping up his brother for food. I'd be scared to act against a psychopath like that

Great start to the season. Nice to see terminus dealt with so quickly was worried that they were going stretch it out but nope dealt within one episode. Glad to see Morgan is sort of back.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
I like this Governor 2.0 kid. I cant wait to watch Rick chew out his throat.

And was the Glenn teasing at the beginning a joke about killing him off?

Alright smart guy I'm sure you'd have Carol just flick a cigarette to blow up the tank right?

Good episode. Thought Carol was a goner for sure, either from Rick or Daryl on accident.

I like it that they did not take the predictable route of killing someone off. They just let them win one.

Of course the whole huge group is just a setup for half of them dying in a single episode, but I like that this episode was not predictable. Outside of the four redcoats before they got to Glenn at the trough.

Still not sure if TY killed that dude or not.

Liked the episode. First scene was excellent, made me feel really uncomfortable watching.
But wtf was with the guy lying on his back struggling to get up like a turtle/beetle? That was horrible, as was the river of blood errupting from his face when the walker was chewing at his nose. Boo to that and junior who spoiled preview stuff a couple of posts ago, yay to everything else.

See, if the writers get them to a "settlement" of sorts soon then they could conceivably keep the cast large without having to kill anyone off.

I like that the cast is so big right now. Keeps them open to tell a wide variety of stories.

One of the series best episodes actually. I'm kind of iffy on how they are telling the story of terminus out of order. I hope it pays off and doesn't feel too clunky.

did he just show the knife to the baby like, SHUT UP BABY

lmao

The baby's face...

She was like "I have no recollection of these people..."

Shoutouts to Low Winter Sun for getting canceled.

Amen.

Michonne's weapon was considered like a double bladed sith lightsaber :D

I thought the same thing!

was the Morgan thing apart of the spin off or was it going to be tired into the main show?

The spin off will focus on new characters.

That was about as good an episode of the show as you could possibly ask for. Really great premiere. Remember when Carol was the worst thing about this show? Seems like a long time ago now. That episode was basically 43 minutes of her being a total badass.

The only thing that pissed me off were usual Walking Dead bullshit. CGI bullet flashes and ridiculous red shirts. The scene at the start was so stupid. Here are 4 of our heroes and 3 guys that have never been seen before. I wonder who's gonna die?!?! Fuck off. What is even the point of scenes like that? It's certainly not to create any tension or worry about the protagonists so why even bother put them in danger?

Apart from that, terrific episode though

I like most of them now. Even some characters that I was not a fan of in the past. Beth for instance I really dig. They have done a good job developing some of the fodder.

But sadly from a financial standpoint, I imagine that several actors who have been around for a few seasons will be wanting new contracts. I fear we will lose several of them this season.

You really didn't have a problem with her lining up a fuckin bottle rocket to hit a fuel tank 100 yards away, hitting it on her first try!?

It was so damn cheesey.

She shot the tank with a gun, causing flammable gas to shoot out of the tank. She then shot a bottlerocket into the flammable gas causing the explosion. Bottle rockets have sparks and flames that could potentially ignite a gas leak, or a flammable liquid. I am not sure where the confusion is coming from.

The whole episode has a healthy dose of script immunity for all of the characters so within that context I'm not sure its all that bad.

Because it sounds unbelievably dumb.

The trajectory of the rocket was laughable
