Probably would have made more sense visually if she had a whole bunch of the fireworks and launched them all at once. One of them hitting and a lot missing.

Not a big deal overall but yeah it was funny that she has this hidden talent for aiming bottle rockets.

You really didn't have a problem with her lining up a fuckin bottle rocket to hit a fuel tank 100 yards away, hitting it on her first try!?

It was so damn cheesey.

Yes you're right. The show would have been much better if she did attempt after attempt after attempt after attempt.

Then people would just complain about her having too many fireworks.

That's not what I said at all, maybe they could have come up with a different way of causing an explosion other than the awfully stupid bottle rocket method.

edit: HadesGigas knows what's up, that would have been much less ridiculous to see.

Great premiere. Is it just me or has this show gotten so much better over the years? Usually shows starts becoming long in the tooth at this point, but The Walking Dead is going the opposite direction. It had a great pilot, but Season 2 and 3 had a handful of decent episodes surrounded by needless ones. I feel like this show really found its groove in the second half of Season 4. We got seperate stories from the group, and the majority of them were interesting and developed the characters. Even the initial threat last season was something different and unique, the flu.

We have come such a long way from well zombie stories. I really hope they keep it up.

I would say it has gone up and down through the seasons. They are on an up note right now.

She didn't have to hit the fuel tank. The gas was spraying out into the air above the tank. Just had to get it in the general vicinity. I can't believe so many people didn't realize this. She didn't have to hit the fuel tank.

Anyway, masterful episode. One of the best ever. Reading the replies after was hilarious, by the way. I was just dying at some of the replies + avatar combos.

Great opener for the season, had a good mix of just about everything, glad to see the gang back

Morgan still has the best loot, first his apartment stash, now his sweet gear. Guy knows where to grind.

Can somebody explain the "Then" scenes for me? Kinda got confused by them.

Terminus was a friendly place that welcomed strangers, put up signs directing people there, rapists showed up and what you saw was Gareth and some others locked up and breaking mentally.

They killed the rapist group that took over somehow, then decided that they can't trust people anymore, left the signs up and came up with the plan to rob, murder, and eat people who show up now.

Yeah that part kind of made me roll my eyes. But honestly, given the other shitty aspects of this show (inconsistent writing, terrible characters, poor plot pacing, illogical situations)...I mean, was it bad? Sure. But I guess I'm willing to give it a little bit of leniency since Carol has become such a good character, and the episode was pretty great all around. Basically, they could have written the same situation, without relying on the goofy/over the top bottle rocket thing.

Man, thinking about the "THEN" scene at the end where Mary (?) is thrown back in the train after getting presumably gang raped, and then the next girl getting picked by the guy and then saying "no, not again!"... I dunno, that scene just stuck with me. They were good people but these savages came along and destroyed everything and then raped all the women endlessly. Imagine being Gareth and seeing the aftermath of the brutal rape of your mom and trying to console her.

lol @ Keyser above ^

The only thing that pissed me off were usual Walking Dead bullshit. CGI bullet flashes and ridiculous red shirts. The scene at the start was so stupid. Here are 4 of our heroes and 3 guys that have never been seen before. I wonder who's gonna die?!?! Fuck off. What is even the point of scenes like that? It's certainly not to create any tension or worry about the protagonists so why even bother put them in danger?

The first guy the butchers killed was Sam from S4's "Indifference" (the stoner who lost his girlfriend in the town, and had been asked Rick and Carol to come to the prison).

They are flashing back to Terminus before the cannibals took it back, and showing what caused them to turn out the way they did.

Great premier! Hey so did Michonne's sword just not get recovered? I thought for sure Carol would have spotted it in that room. That was such a defining piece of her physical character, I wonder if the double light saber will last or will she find a new sword?

Doesn't it seem weird that
the entire 2nd half of last season involved building up to them finding and eventually getting to terminus, only to realize something awful was going on, then have the whole thing wrapped up in one episode to start the season? Seems like the terminus arc should have taken at least 3-4 episodes to resolve itself, instead it seems all crunched into one episode, even with the ad hoc backstory jammed awkwardly in their to explain motivations. Could have been something that you discover over a few episodes to explain wtf happened. Instead it seems like the whole build up for the past 8 episodes was 45 minutes of bang bang and now its back to the woods again.

I think her sword was left outside Terminus in the bag of Rick's. He mentioned it when he told Gareth.

Great episode! Glad it's back, and YAS QUEEN CAROL. She's so fantastic.

ALSO MORGAN! :D
