I forgot today was another Walking Dead episode. Will have to catch it AMC's site later. I only started watching TWD since that the Dead White and Blue marathon. The kid piss me off a lot, I wished he was killed so many times.

Poor Bob. That final scene was a trip.

Pretty sure he got bit so I guess it doesn't matter too much. I hope they all get infected too.

Gotta love how Daryl just takes Carol and runs off. This will buy an extra couple episodes of meaningless dialogue while they hopelessly search for Beth.

So I'm watching the repeat and I have a thought is it possible that
Tara is in the Carol role with the failed relationship and that she will be the one to commit suicide by walker?
Just curious.

There's only one asian in the entire series from season 1 till now and people keep ragging on the black thing. Obviously the asians have all survived somewhere.

The last bit of the episode was super disturbing, but I still want to keep watching next week.

I'm pretty sure he was bit, that's how it seemed after the food run.

I wonder how long this arc is going to be. Personally dont feel like it can be more than 3 episodes. I hope they dont go to split episodes with one focusing on Daryl/Carol and the other on the rest of the group, just keep it all together and concurrent.

Comic Book Spoiler
Like how they have adapted the comic book so far for the hunter arc, hopefully the dont over extend the arc.

The "Hunters" reveal didn't really do anything for me. In fact, it almost came off as comical because of how absurd the reveal was. And the events that transpired (Bob leaving the Church at night and sobbing to himself)....wtf? Why would he step outside in the middle of the night to mark the trees? Okay, he's betraying them but going out at night in a world where the zombies walk the earth is crazy.

One of my biggest complaints with the show was how idiotic they made the characters act in order to get to a good action scene. I guess that job goes to Gabriel now and everyone else gets to seem somewhat intelligent. When Daryl was checking the perimeter at night I'm thinking great, good job. That's what he would do and I'm glad the writers aren't ignoring that just to get to a good action scene. But wait...even with Daryl checking around for tracks the Hunters get within 20 feet of the church? And was that Detroit hat guy that Tyrese said he killed? Sigh....that premiere was so good I was hoping the show had finally found its groove.

Yeah, that's one good thing to come out of this episode. With fan favorites Carol and Daryl on the case we're going to get some resolution as to what happened to Beth and who took her fairly soon.

Comic Book Spoiler
I don't remember Negan's group having crosses on their vehicles, but maybe that's an angle they decided to work in for the show. I'm really hoping this is a new group, but that's probably unlikely.

I wonder if Morgan will end up saving them.

Any good tidbits from the Talking Dead? Besides the fact that Tyreese thought he killed that dude?

The actor that plays Tyrese didn't seem to have prepared much for the show. It was nowhere near as good as the Conan episode.

What do you mean?

The carvings in the trees. He's marking where they're going for someone or some group to find them. That was my take from that. The way he was crying I thought he was about to pull out a bottle and start drinking and the tears was because he was upset about being an alcoholic. But when they showed the markings I figured oh, he's the one doing that and he's crying because he's upset that he's betraying the group.

Does Gaf have a different take on this?

Morgan was following the markings, wasn't he?

I'm sure they will. Like I said, it buys time/eps to flesh out (no pun intended) whatever they want to do with the story and then take it right to the edge so it can spill over to the next season.

lol that makes no sense. Most of us actually thinks he got bit during that water sequence. And went out to kill himself. That makes the most sense amd they way he said farewell before leaving.

Bob either:

Went outside to kill himself because he was bitten by the zombie in the water. (he even kissed his girlfriend in a way that suggested it was for the last time)

and/or

Went outside because he's a recovering alcoholic and everyone inside was drinking communion wine.

and/or

Went outside because he's actually depressed and only puts on a brave face when everyone else is sad.

At any rate it wasn't because "dumb writing makes the characters dumb for dumb plot reasons"

Well that's lame. :/

The acting (drama) in this ep was super cheesy. They've gotta work on that.

Also, Rick just now asked Michonne how she got so good with those blades? After all that time in the prison, everything they've been through?

Come on writers, you can do better than this.

I don't think that's been mentioned by anyone. If he was betraying them, why would the people he's betraying the group to capture him?

Uh, he asked because she explained how they weren't hers to begin with. Pay attention.

So what? That doesn't make up for how the impression was given that Rick never asked her how she got so good with using them up until that point, which is hilarious.

A zombie wearing glasses was just too much for the preacher.

haha, this made me laugh.

Having Terminus survivors be the Hunters is pretty smart. Makes sense why they would target the group.

Yeah, I agree. I'm glad they're still going ahead with the (comic spoiler)
Fear the Hunters arc
despite having already done the two episode Terminus arc. It's actually a very savvy way of handling things - they get to have their cake (an explosive two part finale/premiere cannibal combo) and eat it too (comic
Fear the Hunters
). Scott Gimple really handled that well. I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us this season.

Nice to see this episode being pretty faithful to the comics.

Yeah, it was pretty much a shot for shot recreation in some scenes.

I thought about that after I read AngmarsKing's comment...I don't know how well that'd translate though, given that (comic spoiler/show speculation)
Tara doesn't seem to be desperate enough to do what Comic Carol ended up doing. Would be cool though.

I'm seeing quite a few people (commenters and critics) assume that (comic spoilers/tv speculation)
this Hunters/Terminus/Garreth arc is going to last the entire half season. I wonder. I must say that I was shocked by how short the Fear the Hunters arc turned out to be in the comics - you think it's going to play out like every other arc had up to that point, that it's going to be this Big Thing that lasts for multiple volumes, but the whole thing wraps up far sooner than you expected. In a good way though - that was one of the best things about that arc. "Oh another arc of Rick and Co. being terrorized by a group of bad pe-oh. Shit. Wow. That was brutal. Okay, well, on to DC!"

I think the show would greatly benefit from having a bunch of smaller arcs like that before they reach Alexandria.

...what? Why is it hilarious he never asked how she got good with swords that she found when he never realized they weren't hers to begin with?

Not a comic reader so I never clicked the links, but the way bob was acting pretty much said it all. Poor guy I assume got bitten and then hid it for the group. Because he looked pretty bad at the end of the episode and before he was captured he was crying, not of joy of sadness. Poor Bob.

Wonder what that means for the hunter group though, why didn't they check him for bites or anything before slicing and dicing him up? silly fools.

If Bob got bit while under the water shouldn't have he turned by now? It was already dark so hours had past.

And also if the hunters eat him without knowing he is infected are they all infected as of right now?

To clear something up, the mark on the tree was there before Bob got hit in the head. He wasn't going out back to betray the group lol. My best bet was that he got bit during the water scene.

So then why is he marking the trees?

I don't know if I'm misreading the whole thing, but I thought it was the Hunters/Termites marking the trees instead of Bob? At least that's what it looks like from here; perhaps the Hunters are marking the spots/routes that the group take to allow them to get an idea of when to pick them off one-by-one?

Great episode, an almost perfect 1:1 recreation of the comic. Shame it had to be Bob. :'( (Comic Spoilers)
By this time, Dale had become a cranky and annoying character, so to see him being offed like this was no heartbreak. Bob is almost the complete opposite!

Bites don't kill you right away. They've not really dealt with bites on the show a whole lot though. That guy in season 1 went a while bitten before he got all fevery.

As far as eating it, who knows. Nothing like that's happened on the show yet.

Isn't everyone in the world already infected? What difference would Bob being bit have on the cannibals? I don't think he was even bit to be honest. I don't think that's why he was crying at all.
