Pretty shocking seeing Bob eaten like that. Ugh.

Are we going to be dealing with the Terminus assholes all season? I hope not. I get tired of the cat and mouse games with other survivors. We need a new threat.

I keep seeing post like this, what new threat can there be? Its always going to be man vs man with the zombies as a variable. Hell in the prison they changed it up and put in a flu threat and guess what? People still complained

I'm getting the impression that these "always complain about the evil villain group" people either want Rick's group to try and destroy itself from within and fight with each other (ala Shane in Season 2) or they want super powerful mega zombies to appear for no explicable reason that are impossible to kill without suffering major casualties.

If only we get a winter season. I think trying survive the winter could make for a good half season. We've never seen the group actually surviving. We've seen scavenging and holding up in buildings and places. But never actual survival

Comic Conversation
Well... if you believe him, Kirkman did say in the fan letters section that the reason he killed comic-Glenn was because he thought the TV actor was so absolutely perfect as Glenn, that the comic version felt like a lesser version and thus he couldn't write him anymore. Or something like that, it was a while ago that I read that.

They'll probably do it to Daryl. Or Maggie.

Comic conversation follow up:
Man, that makes sense... TV Glenn is very awesome indeed, but I liked comic Glenn, I kinda liked the "simplicity" of his character.

And man... killing Daryl in the same way that comic-Glenn was killed would cause some colossal outrage by all the fans of the show. My GF would be devastated and would totally stop watching the show for sure.

I kinda "see" Daryl dying in that way and Carol becoming a "comic-Maggie" badass. Damn

How did Bob not notice he had a stump until the very end of the conversation? Too distracted by the sweet smell of BBQ to look down, I guess.
I'm disappointed Hipster Cannibal didn't offer Bob a bite to eat before he was fully coherent.

Marge: Homer, stop eating yourself!
Homer: But I'm so tasty!

Wish they didn't make it so obvious that something bad was gonna happen to Bob.

Still enjoyed the second episode hope they can keep this pace up.

Me thinks Gareth is going to die at the hands of Morgan or at least his group will. Pure speculation.

Rick already said how he will kill Gareth. I don't think any writer can resist making his claim come true and tie the begining of the season and end of the season together.

Yeah no way Rick isn't the one to kill Gareth. The show runners will make that happen for sure.

Does Bob normally put those marks on the trees? I thought he was going into the woods to kill himself, but they showed that tree markings. Also, how long does is it take someone to turn? He didn't really show any symptoms before being kidnapped.

Bob did not mark any tree. If anything, I'm speculating that it's the hunters marking the location of the group.

To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed that (potential comic spoilers)
Bob's sole purpose on the TV show is to seemingly recreate Dale's death scene. An iconic scene that needed to be done properly, for sure, but I was hoping that they could do something *ahem* meaty with his optimistic personality and/or alcoholic backstory.

Then again, when one thinks about it, he was probably the only character that would make sense to be in this situation.

Bob was crying. What if
he was bitten in the leg the cannibals cut off from him? They saved him!!!!!!!

He probably was bitten, but it took way too long between the bite and the leg cut. The Hunters probably just infected themselves by eating the leg.

I was thinking more of a human/zombie hybrid that retains some human intelligence and can co-ordinate the zombies. Just done better than Land of the Dead.

I am sick of that labored growling hissing sound the zombies make. I would love to see some unsettling shriekers/howlers/screamers. One were Rick be all like "Holy shit wtf is that!" Is there anyway i can contact Greg Nicotero or something?

I would love some different types of zombie sounds.

actually yes, i can't help smiling as soon as i hear that HSSSS GREEEWWWLLL BLEEERRRGHH.

I can't deny i'm addicted to TWD, but after watching the first couple episodes i was really hoping it would be a new, different, more clever, approach at the zombie genre.

And this, albeit small, is one of those things i'd really like to see handled differently

This episode was all sorts of awesome. Few scattered thoughts:

Rick's fistbump was one of the best fistbumps I've ever seen.

Carol is being weird. Why was she planning to drive off in the night? What's past is past. Forget it. Everyone has done bad, bad things to survive.

Is it just me or is Carl way less annoying? I think they're making him become the moral compass of the group; what differentiates them from everyone else in a deeply amoral universe where there is no right and wrong.

Bobby is bit by the water zombie. Most probably in the leg. Why else would he go outside and cry after he got that one last kiss. He was planning on leaving the group and going far away so he doesn't turn inside the church and kill everyone.

Which brings us to the marking on the tree. My theory is a little far fetched, but I think Priest and the Cannibals are related. The Cannibals have made a deal with the Priest. They will let him live as long as he supplies them with humans who may shelter in his church. Priest goes and marks the trees if he has people inside, whom the Cannibals will come and get, which is why they appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Bob. I think that is the big secret Priest is hiding. He is a spineless shit to do anything about it. "You'll burn in hell" is marked by one of the humans that was taken away by the Cannibals.

But I could be completely wrong and Priest's angle is related to Daryl on the trail of Jesus mobile. Its too big of a coincidence. OR the marking could have just been made by Rick to signal Morgan, and is completely unrelated to the Priest or the Jesus mobile.

Was it racist when Gareth told Bob "you taste much better than we thought you would"?

Either that or he smelled that sewer water all over him.

But ok, fine. Actual answer: Comics:
It's the exact same line uttered in the comics, and the victim there is white.

I wanna see a bloater equivalent in TWD.

Nah, I'm quite happy with the walkers as they are.

I read a book series where nuclear devices were used in an attempt to stop a zombie plague but instead it made any zombies within the blast radius affected by radiation, enhancing their intelligence and allowing them to run.

Would be kind of cool to see running zombies that can set basic traps/willingly travel in packs.

But then I also like the idea of the zombies all just being shamblers.

Surviving winters in Georgia. I dunno, that seems a bit far-fetched. I mean, you saw the traffic that dusting caused Atlanta.

Do you think they'd stop scavenging due to a cold drizzle?

I honestly think she's just broken. Has been for a long time but has only realized it since the incident with the girls at the country house. I'm pretty sure she feels that she's like the older one. Can't be around people anymore.

If you think about how's she's been portrayed over last season and the beginning of this season... she shows almost zero emotion about anything. Positive or negative. Everyone else seems to still have some shred of humanity left. Caring about people's safety. Celebrating small victories. Regrets. Carol hasn't felt that about anyone other than the girls for awhile and now they're gone.

Damn, I just realized we've spent 5 seasons in the same state.

Can we get out of Georgia already?

Speaking of the spin off:

Adam Davidson To Direct Pilot For ‘The Walking Dead’ Companion Series

The veteran TV helmer has been tapped as director of the high-profile pilot, slated to film late this year.

Davidson won an Oscar in 1991 for best short film, live action for The Lunch Date, which he wrote and directed. His episodic directing credits include AMC’s Western drama Hell On Wheels as well as Kingdom, Community, Grey’s Anatomy, Fringe, and Parenthood.

comic spoiler:
nooo, I don't want Negan to appear on the show... Glenn is my favorite character =(
and "that" scene is just TOO brutal.

Oh but
The Almighty motherfucker Negan
will appear!
But not till the end of this season, if that soon.
Also I don't think they'll follow the comics,
we won't see Lucille skull fuck Glenn's brains out
it will probably be someone else. If I had to guess I'd say someone like
Eugene, Abraham, Tara or Morgan

Yeah, I do know what you mean. I can still see those pages frame by frame in my head. I was absolutely rocked when I read it.
