It's hard to believe this season is done by the same people. I mean, coming off of last season, it'd be hard not to be a big improvement in terms of pacing and actual story-telling, but this is far beyond what I expected and has me excited again. I hope they can keep this up. Slow episodes are fine if done correctly, but you have to mix them in with some action that moves the story along which didn't happen often last year and mostly focused on character-building.

This season is just so much better than anyone could have expected and Rick is back to being a badass. Some things were telegraphed this episode, but as long as it's done well with a lot of excitement, that doesn't bother me much. It's more about the journey with this show.

I just hope next week's episode keeps up the quality with it destined to be a slower-paced episode.

My guesses are Morgan (because he doesn't know Daryl or knows that Daryl knows them), a transformed Beth, or someone else but definitely not Carol.

I agree. It's definitely not Carol and I think it's Morgan as well since that's how I'd imagine it going down with Daryl and a skeptical Morgan who needs to get used to trusting people again. If he's been following the marks, it'd make sense for him to show up soon. If it isn't him, I also think he'd help fill out Rick's group again after losing some key people and who better than Morgan who was popular despite not being in many episodes?

Really annoyed that the group split up again, I hate when they do this. You know Rick and crew are gonna have to go to DC eventually, just go wtf are you waiting for. Now it's gonna be like the farm all over again, hopefully not for too long.

Surprised they killed off the cannibals so soon, I was expecting them to milk those characters all season, I'm glad they didn't. They lasted just long enough.

Rest of the episode and season has been good so far, but I'm not looking forward to one episode focused on one group of survivors, the next episode on another group. I can't stand that.

Why did the cannibals let Bob go back? Gareth could have taken them all out one by one if they wouldn't have known he was still out there.

Represent.

This season is so fucking good so far. Complete turn around from last season. I love this show again.

Perfect mix of action/slower moments. Goddamn, its good shit.

Holy shit, this show is good now. I don't even care that I missed about 1-1.5 seasons of the show. I have no plans to go back right now. I can feel in enough blanks.

darn, Sam Gilliam's acting when Rick was confronting him about missing members was top notch.

Glen and Maggie getting split form the group doesnt feel as bad as that statement sounds at first. Probably because I know the're still with a very capable company of Abraham. And the main group needs a shakeup that doesnt include someone dying/killed to keep things interesting... Glenn also had that look of disgust when Garret and company was getting butchered. As if he was against the plot.

I kinda knew Rick will eventually kill Garrett with that machete with a red handle. But not this soon on that setting (inside the church? dammnn).. The way they killed them... Jesus. They killed them like they once tried to eat 'em.

So I'm guessing Abe & Co will either be the focus of the spin-off show or the latter half of the current season said to be "spin-off style"?

It would have gotten increasingly hard to stealth kill, so Gareth wanted to split them up. They knew Bob was missing and were on the defensive. Rick was a step ahead of Gareth's thinking though, and waited for them to enter the church.

spin off show is unrelated to the events/characters in this show

pretty sure they will run with a split format this season just like 4b

I must say, Gimple and Co. nailed the Fear the Hunters arc.

Also,

"TAINTED MEAT!"

Lawrence Gilliard Jr. was great in that scene. RIP Bob

wurd

I completely didn't expect Gimple and company to wrap up this arc so quickly. It was absolutely bittersweet for me. I really wanted more Gareth. :(

I thought tainted meat might've come off a little cheesy on the show but gotdayum Lawrence Gilliard Jr. killed that line harder than Rick made Gareth ded. Brilliant stuff.

I'm not sure what happened to Carol. I skipped the next episode preview as usual but my guess is that it's Morgan who's with Daryl.

The thing I'm stumped about is that this all happened in a single day. Bob got taken moments after Carol and Daryl took off after the car and Daryl's back seemingly the very next night... maybe more time had passed since Abraham and the rest had taken off. We'll see.

Spectacular start to season. I don't think any of the previous seasons had three solid episodes of this caliber in a row.

In Gimple We Trust.

The split up is dumb tho. Sheamus only wanted to leave because of Gareth's threat. They took care of it, so they would actually be safer sticking together...

he wanted to leave anyway

if you caught what he said during the premiere it was implied

Abraham doesn't want to stop and wait for people. Last season he didn't want to come back to rescue Glenn from the tunnel of death that Glenn refused to walk around. He also didn't want to waste time going Terminus in the first place.

But yeah it's basically a plot device to give them a reasonable number of people to focus on in upcoming episodes. Instead of the misadventures of like 16 people crammed in a short bus.

I am way late to the party here as I had not watched a single episode of this show until a week ago. Been binge watching on Netflix since and got all caught up to this season tonight.

Amazing show. Must of been agonizing to have to wait so long between each episode up to now. I know since now I'm agonizing about what is going on with Darryl and who is with him.

Are we really putting this episode on spoiler tags? A bit weird for an OT. Anyone should know the episode will be talked about once over in detail.

my guess is they saved Beth but now Carol is missing in the process. They just did the maneaters group after the hillbilly rapist piece of shit group, god complex town, etc so my guess is a religious fanatic type group next

Amazing season so far. Hard to best 1-3 but this one so far has some really interesting plot elements going on. My bet is the science dude does not make it. Too good to be true type thing. This feels like a zombie Game of Thrones where if it is not shitty monsters killing you the show reminds you that shitty people are just as bad and will kill you too ... Or worse.

I really hope for a happy ending here. The show draws you into the endless struggle these people are going through I would be pissed at anything other then a happy ending. Rick has to survive it all but I could see him making it to the end and getting axed somehow and then his hardened son becoming President or something of whatever new world gets started. War Vet with decency that everyone can trust and respect like George Washington. But this show does mention government still existing in D.C in some way so we shall see. Could be like the CDC where they make it and there are just a few people left in this fortification.

People like to put speculation in spoiler tags sometimes because in the past people have been accused of being comic readers or knowing what happens and then saying "What I think happens is (exact thing that happens)" so by using the tags they spare themselves the accusations, right or wrong.

Ah ok. I didn't even know there was a comic lol. But this is so good I am thinking of downloading the game series soon on PS4. Hear good things.
