Abraham doesn't want to stop and wait for people. Last season he didn't want to come back to rescue Glenn from the tunnel of death that Glenn refused to walk around. He also didn't want to waste time going Terminus in the first place.

But yeah it's basically a plot device to give them a reasonable number of people to focus on in upcoming episodes. Instead of the misadventures of like 16 people crammed in a short bus.

Having 16 people in the same locations makes filming a logistic nightmare as well.

Glad Garret is dead. That whole arc was dumb. I wasn't a huge Bob fan, but he grew on me a bit as time went by.

I swear, Carol and Beth better both be fine.

I think this is the first time where the show did an arc better than the comic. They did a great job fleshing out the motivations for the Fear the Hunters arc here by tying it into Terminus.

Absolutely- and they even managed to portray the big moments without coming across as being shoehorned in, like "Tainted Meat"

In other words this season is doing a great job so far. Lets if they can keep up this level of pacing for the next 5 episodes. I have a feeling the Beth arc is gonna be separated into two episodes. Episode 4 being backstory of Beth being there with 5 being a rescue mission.

I'd like to thank the show for giving us this GIF, which will come in quite handy on Gaf when threads get a bit too crazy.

As for the epp, loved it but I am so tired of the contrived bullshit of splitting the group up every chance they get. Abraham couldn't wait a bit, really? Especially now that the danger of the Terminisians was gone?

IIRC, they were talking about whether Tyreese could have handled taking part in Carol's attack on Terminus, and him admitting that he would have died (because of his inability to kill others).

Actually, I think Rick said he never asked about Tyreese's trip TO Terminus, and he replied "It killed me." to which Rick said "No it didn't."

When they were digging? no

Rick said something like "I never asked how it was for you, getting to Terminus"
Tyrese: "It killed me"
Rick: "No it didn't"

I feel like they've really stepped it up. This is shaping up to be the best season of the show.

Tyrese: "It killed me"
Rick: "No it didn't"

Exactly what they said.

As a fan of the comic this makes me sad.

I'm avoiding comic spoilers like the plague, but I have a friend who is a fan of them and as soon as some plot point ends in the show that had already happened in the comics he goes "OKAY SO I CAN TELL YOU *whatever thing is*"

Except the show takes a lot from the comics, just with different routes, characters, etc. So Bob's last laugh was ruined for me, because I had already found out about the cannibal group way back at
the farm after my friend told me how Dale dies in the comics.
:(

EDIT: Spoiler tagged..the comics? Just incase.

Three great episodes in row; the show is on fire. Sad to see Bob die, but he had a good, kinda dignified, death. When Gareth was in the church, he reminded me of the enemies in Splinter Cell Conviction with all the yelling/goading. My favourite moment was when Rick walks out of the shadows, gun aimed, and orders the Terminus crew to kneel. What follows almost mirrors the slaughter scene in the season opener.

I was kind of surprised Maggie took off for DC with the fate of Beth still up in the air.

"I got ma Glenn."

It's awesome how blatantly scared Gareth was of Rick just before he died. It's like he finally realized he fucked with the wrong people.

Another strong episode. Really enjoying the fast pace at which they are going through the storylines at the moment.
Tainted Meat moment was great.

What did Rick say to Tyrese at the end? I didn't catch it.

Rick asked Tyrese how the trip to Terminus was.

Tyrese said "It killed me"

Rick was quiet for a bit and then simply said "No it didn't."

Seemed kind of nice to show that Rick still has some faith in Tyrese, even if the latter seems to have lost some of his willpower (but is maybe getting it back after helping Sasha with Bob?)

EDIT: haha already beaten. Oh well.

Great episode.
Season 5 is for me the best season so far, it even outshines season 1.

Going to be great to see Beth again, hopefully she has toughened up while gone.

Great pacing through these first three episodes and there's been a noticeable jump in quality in acting and writing this year. Things don't feel forced like they often have in this show, it feels more natural. I just hope this Beth arc doesn't throw things off.

Solid episode, really liking the breakneck pace of S5 so far.

But bummed they, once again, separated the group with a really artificial reason - "please stay 12 more hours and us two will come with you!". Err, how about hang around until morning because it's the middle of the night, there's a bunch of psychos with automatic weapons in the tree-line and driving off in a (easily shot) bus paints a big fucking target on your back? Oh, and forget about ever finding Beth?

Well, that tainted meat arc went absolutely nowhere. Disappointed in that. Thought they'd build that up. Also, dispatching Garret so quickly? Anyway, solid episode, but those bits bothered me.

I think that was the exact point of the arc. The group has finally realised that the best way of dealing with threats is quickly and with no hesitation.

Is the spin-off show will be about Abraham group? Them splitting up again and having us watch two separate storyline is tiresome.

I hate to break it to you, but the spin-off is going to be Twilight set in the Walking Dead universe, it seems, from the casting atleast.

Both are great. Cannot stand the idea of another governor and them moving toward Washington should keep the plot fresh. The governor arc got so boring and tired and the prison was the worst part of the show IMO.

Love the direction their going in this season by not dragging things on for multiple episodes. Looks like they've learned how to trim the fat and keep the story moving without sacrificing characterization and group dynamics. interested to see how the rest of the season develops.

This gif should go in reverse with Bishs' face peering out. Would be great for when people get a little to hype in threads.

What else would you have them do drag it out for the whole season and then listen to you say how stupid and dragged out it is ? Rick finally had the sense to take them out that thinking would have kept lori and the rest alive had he killed the governor when he had plenty of chances .

Walking Dead is damn if they do damn if they dont.

"WAAAAAAAAA their on the farm to long, plz leave the prison, im tired of the governor. What? Thats it's for the cannibals? They could have made it longer."

I'm glad they took out Garrett and his cannibal crew early on. I thought they were a good setup for long term season villains but I also didn't want them dragging it out forever like they did with the Governor.
