Jordan was the champ in that Italy fed that Rikishi was running.

Maybe Hogan hauled him in since Jordan worked a match with Warrior, so they can have Warrior/Jordan in The Match That Nobody Asked For, Part II?

Hey look, a screwjob... someone saying going to another company... and spitting in someone's face.

Wonder if words gonna get out that Angle decked Hogan in the locker room.

You know, for the longest time I though Saggs was dead. Now, I'm kinda wishing he (as well as Knobbs) actually were!

While not quite willing to wish death upon Saggs and Knobs, I was perfectly happy with the idea that i'd never hear their names again until the day they died, same goes for Hall.

What the fuck did I just watch?

You can't redo the screwjob. It worked because it was real. It worked because itwas fresh. It worked because it was never resolved for 12 years.

Nice to sees WWE/Vince said on the show though.

That was so stupid. I guess Hogan thinks this will bring in ratings. So transparent.

TNA keeps trying to say they are so different, but they keep being WWE-lite.

That is how you end the show. Are you fucking kidding me?

That fucking screamed Russo

lol Russo has little-to-no input in storylines right now. All he does is takes Hogan/Bischoff/Jarrett/Dixie/Etc.'s ideas and puts them in onto script...

And the IWC's reactions are hillarious. The only things I would say were bad about this episode of Impact was The Nasty Boys (although Saggs seems to still have it somewhat but Knobbs looked pathetic), AJ Styles' promo (seemed too forced and unnatural), and Orlando Jordan going over The Pope (although it looked like it was more to do with the damage Wolfe inflicted than OJ himself).

I used to think so but Im not sure anymore. So much of this screamed Russo, especially the backstage politics and the short matches.

I wouldn't be suprised if Hogan is booking but Russo is still writing.

Well Russo had full control from the period of Jeff Jarrett's exodus until right before the 1/4 show (which was IMO the best TNA has ever been).

Really good show... the "Orlando screwjob" stuff is heading in an interesting direction based on the spoilers that isn't a straight rip of the Montreal screwjob.

There were still booking issues then. I think that period worked because Vince was moving pieces in place, and that meant ending the mafia and pushing guys like AJ and Daniels. Recieving a guy like Nigel helped as well.

It was more straight wrestling booking and less writing. Russo is writing again and it shows.

Well, its not like they were going to have Angle leave TNA and return 12 years later.

Now not only they have all WWE Rejects and Ex-WWE wrestlers, they are also going with ex-WWE storylines!!

Only, nobody will ever be able to pull off a Vince McMahon character.

You guys complain way too much. You know what just happened?
They got me to watch. I havent watched this much wrestling in years. I watched Jan 4. I even bought my first PPV in 5-7 years. And I watched Impact last night.

So they won. Why? They pulled in a viewer who is not a regular anymore.

You guys don't complain enough. You know what just happened?
They got me to tune out. I have been watching wrestling for years and this shit is insulting to the fans intelligence. I watched Jan 4. I even watched their PPV and I watched Impact last night.

So they lost. Why? They ran off a viewer who has been following TNA for years and if it wasn't for the chance to see a brief glimpse of some of the best up and coming young wrestlers in the business amid the shitstorm of old washed up hacks clawing for the limelight and taking up valuable spots better used elsewhere, I could safely say i'd be done with TNA for good.

OH SNAPZ.

Really though, TNA is making all the wrong moves right now IMO. I'll keep watching in hopes that they turn it around, but the Orlando Screwjob was not the way to go.

- Earlier in the week, it was announced that El Generico will face Davey Richards at the 8th Anniversary Show on February 13th in Midtown Manhattan (http://rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=3200). Many in ROH feel that a top-quality matchup will snap the string of bad luck Generico has had since Final Battle when Kevin Steen betrayed him. We know that Steen will face a public confrontation by Colt Cabana in New York, and he will face Generico’s long-time friend, the Human Tornado, when ROH debuts in L.A. Steen will have a lot of answering to do in a very short period of time.

- Speaking of the Human Tornado, sources indicate that he has issued a challenge for the “8th Anniversary Show” on February 13th in New York. ROH officials have confirmed that they did receive a match request, but will not divulge who Tornado has challenged until they receive an answer from that competitor. Thus far this individual has declined all comment on the matter. We hope to have more on this next week.

- “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown has been a monster since debuting in Ring of Honor, and has Prince Nana and Shane Hagadorn frothing at the mouth in hopes of signing this massive individual. Over the past few months, he has been unstoppable in one-on-one and even one-on-two handicap contests. ROH officials have confirmed that Brown wants to debut in New York facing three men! Only the top ROH talent will be a part of the “8th Anniversary Show”, and facing any one man on that stage would be a bigger challenge than any Brown has faced. Facing two would be a near impossible task, but facing three is unheard of. Officials are reviewing the Skullkrusher’s request, and will have a ruling in the coming days.

- In addition to those already announced in matches for the “8th Anniversary Show” we’re happy to confirm the following talents: ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers, “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown, “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero, the Dark City Fight Club, Erick Stevens and Joey Ryan of the Embassy, Kenny King, The Necro Butcher, and Eddie Kingston. We’ll have more names and matchups next week!

- ROH officials are in close talks with two talents about returning to Ring of Honor. One of these men has stated that he got too far away from his wrestling instincts during his first run and a return to that form will make him a dominant force in ROH. The other man is sick of being put in a role that disgusts him and has vowed to change the perception of him by unleashing his skills on the ROH roster. Sources indicate that one or both of these men could re-debut at the next ROH on HDNet Television Tapings on February 5th and 6th.

- Don’t forget that Pro Wrestling RESPECT debuts this Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the National Guard Armory in Burlington, New Jersey! All the stars from the ROH Wrestling Academy will be on hand, as well as head trainers Delirious and Daizee Haze. Tickets for this great event are only $8! Get your fix of all of the information on this weekend’s big RESPECT debut event at http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=3203 and check out the RESPECT website at www.prowrestlingrespect.com!

Wonder who the two returning names are? I'd hazard a guess at the first guy being Brent Albright as the fans got really tired of his last run and were asking for a return to his 'hired gun' gimmick he debuted in ROH with. Hoping at least one of those guys is Paul London :(

Another thing that makes me so mad, is that all you guys say is young stars young stars, I don't want to see these old farts. How do you think these guys are suppose to make a name for themselves?

When ratings slip, who does Vince look to? HHH HBK etc........... Thats how it is. TNA may put some of you off who have been following for the last few years, I don't think they care about you. They are looking for the old WCW audience who are older now, and they are looking for more people who are not hardcore followers.

They don't care about the guy who watched for the last 3 years, you did nothing for their numbers.

Rating suck for WWE because they do the same shit over and over. Batista versus Undertaker circa two years ago. Triple H battling Cena and Orton. OMG it was a WRESTLEMANIA main event. Don't get me started on how from March 2009 until November they had Legacy in a main event handicapped match on RAW. Guess what Double Double E, they all sucked. You know your in trouble when your vintage moment repeated over and over for five years.

Young stars make a name by taking an idea and running with it. Beating so and so for the rub or having the torch passed means zero for a character in this era.

Young stars should be put over by the older guys, not have their spots taken away by a collective of ageing dinosaurs coming in to shit up the joint. Look at guys like Flair and Funk who have spent the last 20 years putting over young talent then compare that to wastes of space like Hall who only give a shit about securing their spot, and their limelight.

You say Vince has to turn to HBK and HHH for ratings and you're right, because those guys are still huge draws while any attempt to elevate new talent to a similar level is met with abject failure thanks to shitty booking and a general reluctance to run with fresh ideas.

Cena has put over Sheamus, elevated him.
HHH and HBK did very well with Legacy (minus Orton) and have elevated Legacy.
Orton, even though has generally been victorious over Kofi, the feud has defenitely elevated Kofi.

But they refused to elevate them by partnering these feuds with compelling storylines. Nobody is going to remember why Legacy was in every main event of RAW from March to November. The audience has no reason to remember, nor there matches. Every Legacy versus DX match consisted of Legacy using Michaels as a punching bag, then they would turn it around. Neither was convincing since both members had to gang up on Michaels to inflict damage. Don't get me started on HHH going into God mode at the end of all of his matches.

There's a big difference between Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Mick Foley, The Nasty Boys v.s. HHH, HBK, Undertaker etc.., not just in age, but in health and overall in ring quality. The old WWE guys can still work great matches, and are in fit shape, while most of the ex-WWE/WCW guys TNA has are all washed up, injury prone, and in some cases 1-2 cheeseburgers away from heart failure.

And the old WCW fans from the nWo/Attitude era aren't gonna get drawn in too much when you got Diesel & Razor, "The Outsiders", looking like father time and humpty dumpty, staggering around the ring

Sweet!

I understand all you are saying.

I hope TNA kicks the beejeezus out of WWE. WWE has become so stale. I catch glimpses here and there. Its bad. Its Cena and his 5th grade followers.

I fell out of love during the Mcmahon Helmsley era. And kinda watched both shows.
Its been horrible latley.(last few years)

I have been very intrested in TNA for the last few weeks.

Are you really this starved for something to do that you'd make yourself watch TNA? I mean, you complain about WWE, but at least they try to make sense and let the viewer actually breathe for a moment without someone yelling at you. The Bret/Shawn/Vince interactions were like watching an Oscar bait film when compared to the erratic garbage that was going on in TNA that night.

Ideologically, Styles turning heel with Flair to talk for him is brilliant. Realistically, this is TNA so it won't matter and it'll be ruined.

If what TNA is offering is the alternative to WWE, I think just about everyone here except you would rather just watch neither.
