Why don't you get to play it?
... but it could also be argued that this is a weakness of the games character designs in the first place; such a joke isn't out of place, for a game that features a design like the sorceress, and her exaggerated official (?)twin basketballstatue, for example.
I totally agree, we need to remember that not everybody is going to want to play this game just because it has comedy size boobs.
We need to highlight the Amazon's arse too!
He might not own a PS3 or Vita.
Anyone know if this game will be 1080p native?
I was joking when I said the OT would be called "Boobs |OT| Dragon's Crown." I have a subtitle in mind that is not going to be (K)otaku-related, not-NSFW, not anything related to breasts, butts, abs, or waifus, but is going to be a subtle nod to a prior work of Kamitani's.
I know I'm not alone when I say I've been excited for Dragon's Crown since the first time I saw it in action. It isn't about the breasts or butts or elf waifus. I grew up when arcades were more than just the name of a companion in New Vegas, when you'd pour in quarter after quarter playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, or even The Simpsons. There's more to that genre than Mystara, and there have been far too few games like it since the nineties ended. Dragon's Crown is a renaissance of this beloved genre, combined with two others things I love: Vanillaware's beautiful artwork and Hitoshi Sakimoto's moving music.
TL;DR: I'm taking the OT seriously. I'm sure there will be more than enough people posting breasts, butts, and kotaku links, but that will say more about them than it will about the game.

And, I know the NA version will have dual audio for the characters, but does anyone know if dual audio also extends to the narrator (and the character-narrators)?
This is second hand information but a poster on gamefaqs was at EVO and the Atlus reps at the Dragon's Crown setup/booth apparently said that the in-battle audio was dual audio, but that it would only be English for the narration/npc voices/story dialog.
Here's his post: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633261-dragons-crown/66684144#13
All I got out of that thread is this link and the urge to drown one third of gamefaqs posters in a bathtub. So, what we know:A narrator tells Dragon Crowns story and Rannie has a few voiced lines too. I noticed in the options menu the English version of Dragons Crown has an option to choose between English and Japanese voiceovers.
this game looks awful IMHO, i think muramasa looks much better

yes that's exactly what i meant, the art style is so over the top and the characters are hideous, i don't like the animations either, ive been following this game for a while now since i am a big fan of 2D games, but nothing that ive seen about this peeks my interest, you compare this to muramasa and it looks bad, muramasa can be a boring game after a while, it gets a bit repetitive but you cant deny that art style and look the game has, i just think they went way to overboard with this lookI'm still cautious about this game giving me the Vanillaware chills (caused from Muramasa and Odin Sphere), but Dragon's Crown still looks really good from what I've seen. I'm guessing you mean visuals, but I can't imagine what part of it comes of as "awful" to you.

I'm not denying Muramasa its visuals at all. They're quite well done. However, I'm not seeing the contrast of the two titles in the same way you are. Muramasa is very eastern while Dragon's Crown is western in inspiration of locale.
Perhaps you prefer the Japanese rural fields and ocean side over the ancient ruins and castle tops of Dragon's Crown. There's no crime in preference of either, but I see it as simply "different" rather than "hideous."
Don't worry, it'll be a nice work-safe title:
Boobs |OT| Dragon's Crown
Here's a 6 minute shaky cam gameplay vid from EVO 2013:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNiwyhlYmEo
Not sure if posted yet but it shows off a hidden area only accessible by breaking a wall using a mount. The main thing I took from the video is that the wall itself was completely smooth with no hints (as far as I could see; I mean the vid quality isn't the best) that it was breakable. That...excites me.
The Elf and Wizard look cool at least.
Hmm? The wall had a very obvious crack in it. It's possible that other parts of the background have similar details so gloss over breakable walls.
I believe the cracks weren't so obvious until the Fighter started hitting them, but there was a message about hearing a woman crying on the other side of the wall so at least you'd know to look for it. Here's an example of a hidden door that the Wizard opens. I don't know if there were environmental clues, but for that one it looked like Tiki was highlighting it so it wouldn't be too subtle. From the looks of it, the wall only had cracks because the Fighter was already attacking the wall. When they walked by it originally the cracks weren't there.
However, it was really hard to tell from the shaky cam video, but it looked like there was text displayed at the bottom of the screen saying something about hearing a woman crying from behind the wall, so they do seem to drop hints about these things.

Source? Or speculation?I think it's 720p. Kinda sucks, but it's a way for them to lighten the load on spritework. 1080p would give them a lot more pixels to fill.
Don't know if someone posted it, but despite the Famitsu scores being worthless, the reviewers complained about the following things:
PSV: Since the screen is small, you sometimes lose track of your character.
PS3: Gamepad is much worse than touch controls during instances when you have a cursor on the screen (cooking etc., most likely).
Other than that, they loved it iirc.

I'm still not seeing a weakness in any of the character designs. The joke wouldn't go over many heads that have witnessed the Sorceress, but that doesn't inherently mean the character design is at all shoddy. If I had issue with it at all, I'd first point a finger at the people making such jokes rather than the Kamitani's art being Kamiitani's art.

Well, I don't find it (or any of Kamitani's Arts) "shoddy", but I can't help but feel some things are just kind of... unfortunate?
I cite it as a weakness, because it detracts from the overall achievement of the art in the game. The over-exaggeration crosses the line a bit too far, to where it's often standing out more than the work itself at times.
It weakens the overall solidarity of the work, by tossing in an "issue" that really didn't need to be there in the first place. One gets a feel they're trying to compensate for something lacking in a crude way, when, in reality, that doesn't seem to be the case.
I can't say I feel the same way. I believe any of the character designs only detract from the big picture if a viewer allows it to. I see the entire package absolutely fine. The characters fit in the world well and none of them are an "issue" intrinsically, but simply an "issue" some others have created of their own accord.
I see a fluent world realized through Kamitani's work and not a desperate or crude compensation in any capacity while (rarely, yet) occasionally attempting to wrap my mind around how it could be defined as such at all by others.

cant wait to play this
I really like the character designs myself. I don't really want "boobs" or anything like that in the OT title, though, as humorous at it might be. I feel like it'd just spark a bunch of negative comments and derail the thread, instead of just being a nice place to discuss the game.
