Yes, Bogans plays good defense and unless you don't watch the games, I agree.

He also hits the open three decently.

Of course the bench are role players, not many teams have stars and starters on the bench because ummm.....they are on the bench.

The Bulls bench(mixed with some starters) usually holds down the fort and in some cases actually outplays the team that is on the floor.

No one said they are one of the best benches of all time but everyone on the bench can play and Taj Gibson could start on many a team.

The only player that pisses me off on the bench is Watson and while he plays brainless at times, he will make plays that open your eyes believing he sometimes knows what he is doing.

You act like the Bulls play all the bench players together at the same time, this is not the case. They mix them with the starters and they blend in really well.

The bulls bench, is a very, decidedely so, average bench. If it was more, rose wouldn't have to regularly log 40mpg. Taj starting ? hmmm, not really. He's a good 6th man, thats where he's at his best.

Bogans isn't what he was. Terrible signing, brewer will probably replace him next year.

I know he's passing to quality players, but so is Jameer Nelson, Derek Fisher, etc. His stats are possibly a little inflated, but I feel like people overstate how overrated he is. The dude is a fantastic player, even if he can't shoot. And don't even quote this dIEHARD, nobody cares what you think.
Like i have ever said anything about Rondo that wasn't 100% fact.

Chicago has a shooters, defensive specialists and rebounders coming off the bench.

You can't really go wrong with that.

One of the Top 5 benches in the NBA. Not because of talent, but because everyone knows what they need to do and they usually do it to perfection.

Boston's bench doesn't feel nearly the same as in years past.

It feels like Doc just brings in a bunch of random players who are still trying to prove they can play basketball.

Yes, Taj starting.

In fact, when he started on his own team, he flourished.

He has an all around starters game. Great defender, good rebounder, inside and outside game.

If the Bulls' coach wanted Brewer starting, he'd be starting.

How could you question arguably the best defensive coach in the league starting Keith Bogans???

Is Bogans related to him or dating his daughter????

People often asked this about Bogans in Orlando. I get that he's the QB of understanding the Defense, but usually Riley Clone coaches in the past who had players like that contributed a lot more. Rebounds, points, something. I watch Bogans play and I get irrationally angry...

Hate to butt in to this conversation but i have to ask whats your favorite basketball books? I have most of John Woodens books and will buy Bill Simmons big basketball one soon but besides those need some suggestions. Preferably to read on my Kindle. Thanks.

Both of the Free Darko books are good, but you should read the print editions because the illustrations are almost the best part.

He's in there to defend his man(usually good players) and hit open threes.

That's all he does and it has worked so far.

Not every player in the starting lineup has to average double figures in points and boards, it's a good thing everyone in the Bulls besides Bogans averages double figures in one or the other, some both.

What teams would an undersized 4 start on. Then ask, are any of those play off teams. Probably not.

What makes you think i'm quesitoning Thibs? He's working with what he's got. If that bench had more talent, youd probably find brewer starting right now, but i have a feeling he's left on the bench to help that unit.

I'm not saying the bulls bench is bad, but...

Rose rests a lot.

Too much at times for my liking.

Rose is averaging 38mpg. Thats a LOT of minutes.

I can't believe the Wolves are only down 5. What an abysmal half.

I can't believe you expect better from the Warriors

I watched him box out his own teammate for a rebound today. :/

I told you all, biggest empty stat guy in history. Talking heads love it because they can say "Troy Muprhy is a double-double guy" but if you watch him play you'd be better off with a courtside seat on the floor.

Bogans has a reputation of being a defender/3PT specialist when in reality he is neither of those things. One of the worst starting players in the league.

hahahah i've never even heard of half of those players. Troy Murphy? GOAT.

EDIT: I have heard of those players, not troy murphy

Troy Murphy pretty much averages a double double for his career.

That being said you're quoting an image of a game when the Celts were up by about 30 points, it was complete garbage time minutes.

The reason the celts bench is like patchwork right now, is because of all the injuries. Davis just returned, Delonte has been injured most of the year, Green, Arroyo, Krstic, and Murphy are all new, and both of the O'neals still have to return (not holding out hope for Jermaine)

I think With Krstic and Shaq splitting minutes, Jermaine could be in there for foul trouble. That being said Doc has played with a lot of great lineups as far as situationals go. Jeff Green coming in as the 4 and moving KG to the 5 seems to me like it'll be there for the final 6 minutes. Once everyone is healthy you'll see a pretty solid rotation as far as I'm concerned.

Doc ran with that lineup the other day when we were in a tight game with the Sixers. Maybe that's why the Sixers won.

I love the Celtics but I'm embarrassed of Carlos Arroyo. Delonte cannot get healthy soon enough. The trade still doesn't make any sense to me but I guess any time you get a chance to trade one of the best centers in the league for a bunch of random white guys, you gotta do it.

Love better get 5 points in the 4th..

I'm kind of surprised the Warriors are blowing out Minnesota considering they have All Star Kevin Love making all sorts of meaningful contributions to his team.

Hint at it???

I dunno, I'm guessing they thought they couldn't resign Perk in the offseason (since they really can't afford to pay him) and wanted to get something for him while they could.

SI did an interview with Ainge last week where he actually said he thought the team was stronger without Perk.

Haha, they're talking about the Warriors doubling and tripling All Star Kevin Love to keep him from getting 5 points.

I can never agree with this but then again, the Bulls are built on defense and rebounding and toughness and Perkins is all that.

Awesome.

Warriors writers are also talking shit about Ridnour. Rodeo would be proud.

Pippen for Olden Polynice might be the most underrated horrible trade of all time. Admittedly, the Sonics probably would have just straight up picked Polynice without a trade, but that would have stopped Pippen from going to the Bulls and made the NBA a better place.

It's true. Lee has done a great job fronting him, and then they run somebody else at him whenever he does get the ball.

Same way they shut down Howard on Saturday.

Who would have thought the Warriors could turn David Lee into a good post defender?

Curry knows all about that shit. Remember in college some scrub coach triple teamed him the entire game. Like literally every second.

Got blown out by 50 IIRC but claimed holding Curry under 10pts was a moral victory or some shit.

It's easy to play defense 5 on 1. When you face teams who have more than one main scoring option then it gets tricky.

Get some pieces next year and you guys will be even more promising.

Many teams would die to have that backcourt.

(I hate David Lee)

Somebody told him he passed Moses Malone against the Jazz on Friday and he could continue the streak tonight against one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA.

He be all like:

How will they get more pieces? Mullin traded away their picks and they have no cap space.
