Pretty crazy that in 2 years we went from 23 wins to potentially favored to reach the Western Conference Finals. :bow to Presti.
I went to 5 games the first season and didn't see a win. It is amazing how far we have come and how much potential we still have.

Wish I could have been there!

Whoever we get in the second round, we can definitely beat them. Heck, we'd probably even be favored against Memphis although they're playing with some serious confidence right now.
They were, and hopefully they continue to. I think they know they are the better team but I am not sure how they will handle the pressure of the game in Friday.

Same for me, I didn't see them win until the 8th or 9th game I went to.

I thought I was jinxing them, then I realized they were just a bad team. :(

The Grizz look shell-shocked, but I think they'll bounce back. Of course, for selfish purposes I'm hoping the Spurs win Game 6.

A subtle joke about Zach Randolph looking like a Ninja Turtle? Color me impressed by the Blunder fan.

My go to Chinese for out of towners is Yang Chow in China-town (also a Laker hangout in which players show up). Slippery Shrimp and you will not regret it.

Middle Eastern - Carnival in the valley. Best Hummus I've found. Same with Falafel and Schwarma and great kebabs too. Oh man, and the best fries.

I lost my go to Italian quite a few years ago and am struggling to find one that separates from the pack. Can't help with steaks/BBQ much. Haven't found anything that worth it and I grill my own steaks.

Mexican can be anything, really. so many hole in the walls. might as well try em all! Same for Sushi. Lot of great sushi places. People can be picky, but I don't think you can go that wrong with most of them.

Philippe's has been mentioned for French Dip sandwiches.

Brent's is a great Deli, but Langer's has better pastrami.

Roscoe's is Paul Pierce's go to Chicken & Waffles. :p

edit: If you got some cash to blow, I'd recommend a Churrascaria if you want to truly pig out on great food. Fogo de Chao is quite awesome.
'

Dude KNOWS his food. Wow man, you can I could be brothers!

Yang Chow is definitely good.
Carnival is definitely to FREAKING die for.
Sushi for me is Kushiyu in Tarzana on Ventura Blvd a bit west of Reseda
Brents Deli has the best cobb salad, matza ball soup but agreed about Langers
Roscoes is awesome
El Cholo in Santa Monica or Pasadena for Mexican

As a lukewarm Atlanta Hawks supporter, they really need to close the series out. Joe Johnson shows how good he can be, but then when you really count on him, he disappears. Crawford cooled off too.

They are putting a copy of this column from the Orlando Sentinel on the players' lockers.

Watch this, NBA fans, because it's going to be historic.

You want to see something truly Magical?

Watch now as Orlando turns the Atlanta Hawks into the Atlanta Birdbrains.

It's going to happen just as sure as the weather in Orlando this summer will be sunny and hot with a 60 percent chance of afternoon thundershowers. The Magic are going to win this series and the Birdbrains are going to fold up and collapse like a $5 lawn chair. You know it, I know it and deep down in the lonely recesses of their fragile minds, the Birdbrains know it, too.

Yeah they did but even then and with Tony Parker on fire was still a 2 point game in the last minute of overtime and we still had a chance to win if fucking Tony Allen didn't go hero mode and Gasol had realized how much time was in the clock.

I've lost about 15 pounds on this trip so far (down to my high school weight), but I think I'm going to gain it all back within a week of being in LA. If anyone wants to recommend any other restaurants, please do.

Restaurants? On an LA trip? Get with the times, bro. It's all about food trucks now. Go to:

Grilled Cheese Truck--THIS IS A MUST. GCT is the best foodtruck in the damn country. Order a fully loaded (mac and cheese, pulled pork, caramelized onion) with bacon, whoever takes the order will acknowledge it as a "Weeping Rabbi". Eat the shit out of. Come back and order a dessert melt. http://twitter.com/#!/grlldcheesetruk

Lard On--All bacon everything. How much do you love bacon? Do you love it enough to eat chicken wings with bacon hotsauce, topped with hot sauced covered bacon, with bacon blue cheese? If not just get a BLT, because they make a Goddamn amazing BLT. http://twitter.com/#!/getyourlardon

Sweet's Truck--Honestly? Anything. Anything at all. http://thesweetstruck.com/menu

Other solid choices would be trucks like Coolhaus, Get Shaved (now has a storefront!) and Frysmith. Avoid Nom Nom and Kogi, both are super overrated. Kogi less so, as Korean BBQ is hard to not enjoy, but Nom Nom? It's bahn mi. Who waits in a line for bahn mi?

And as a public service announcement, do not let ANYONE rope you into going to Pink's. It's garbage and anyone that says otherwise knows dick all for food. Go to Fab's instead, out in the valley (Reseda). And if you want the best pizza in a wide, wide radius go to Pizzeria Mozza in Hollywood. Everything else mentioned so far is good, too. Like, ain't nobody ever going to argue Phillipe's isn't amazing. Just want to make sure you get some less conventional and still great ideas. The food scene in LA is going through a pretty creative streak right now. Almost makes me want to come up from SD more to visit home.

Almost.

Donatello vs. Littlefoot in round two. Who prevails, the anthropomorphic ninja amphibian or the annoyingly cute animated ancient baby reptile?

I think the Grizz are in a similar position to what OKC was in last night. They should have closed out the series on the road, but lost an emotional game and need to find a way to win in spite of the letdown.

I expect Game 6 to be close.

Awesome call on the trucks.

I've heard good things about some Korean BBQ/taco fusion truck that makes the rounds in LA, but I can't remember the name. Having spent most of the last two years in Korea, I'm looking forward to trying it.

That's Kogi, they do Korean BBQ in burritos/tacos with a hint of Mexican styling. It's not bad at all, really, it's just the line can go deeper than the food is worth waiting for. The actual food is definitely good though, especially if you're into Korean BBQ. Unlike NomNom there is an actual reason to hit them up.

Will probably end up doing that anyway. I'll need to get my frozen mandu somewhere, so I'll probably have to find a Korean market, and I can get the gochujang and other stuff to put on the meat while I'll there.

You say this like the hawks are some juggernaut... they are not.

If there´s one team that can fold, it´s the Hawks. Like we´ve said before, this was a battle of two fucked up teams, on the downside.

Anything can happen, but it´s looking more like Magic right now. That motivational pice might entice Josh Smith to shoot 20 times tonight, "to prove a point". If that happens the Magic are fine.

The problem with the Hawks is that they normally don't give a fuck.

This little piece is more than enough motivation for them to give a fuck. They're a very good team when they want to be.

Hawks win in a blowout tonight.

And my God, I never thought I could hate any PA system guy as much as I hated the one the Spurs used to have.

Here come the Spurs!!

This guy in Miami with his Twwwwwwooooooo minutes! DOOOSS! takes the fucking cake.

Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, said minorities earn less than white people because they don’t work as hard and have less initiative.

“We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that’s tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don’t want to study as hard in school? I’ve taught school, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn’t study hard because they said the government would take care of them.”

I think Richardson is due for one of those "8 for 12 from 3" kind of nights. He can still do that, right? Even Gil had a throwback game this series.

Because the best thing Scotty Brooks is actually known for is being a gay porn star, and not an NBA coach.

Maybe she is a fan and came to her ignorant opinion by watching all the free throws the team gets; instead of working for real shots, they wait for the refs to give them a handout.

Nah man, can't do it. He was realllll down after game 4. Like sad and kind of broken. Dunno what happened to the team but they don't look anything like the team that I watched in person 3 times this season (two Rockets, one Mavs). Bonner looks like a lost white man (wheres Wilson?), Neal/Hill are interchangeably mediocre, and Jefferson disappeared.

We pushed you to the limit twice this regular season, very high energy and skillful play on both sides. Sidenote, jesus Spurs fans travel well or something cause all three times the spurs contingency was at least 45% of the arena when they should have been away. Now though? No energy, stagnancy has set in, and its like a different team is out there.

The main two problems on our end (Grizzlies have played well, gotta respect that) have been

1. Bonner getting 20 minutes. Hill and Neal aren't scrubs. They do exactly what they are suppose to do within the system. Bonner is complete trash. I really hope someone knee caps him. Nice guy, but has no business averaging 20 minutes for a 50+ plus win team in the playoffs.

2. Parker is being outplayed by Mike fucking Conley and about 60% of that are errors he should not be making at this point in his career.

I've always believed Timmy and Kobe wanted to play with each other.

Too bad Timmy didn't realize he'd win a lot more in LA.

I don't think Duncan would have liked playing in LA. The dude's too laid back to have to deal with that environment.

That said, if Tim and Kobe had teamed up in their primes, that would have been in the top 3 most devastating basketball duo's of all time right? I mean who else would be better in terms of pure skill and how well they would complement each other?

LA is really laid back. Aside from a few sensationalist reporters its not like NY or Boston. Manny mentioned when he came from Boston how refreshing it was. He could go grocery shopping after a loss and people were just like "oh well get'em next time". And for the most part stars in LA are treated like royalty. For all his faults and transgressions Kobe is a fuckin saint in LA.

The media attention that a hypothetical Lakers team starting TD and Kobe would have gotten would still be 10x more than anything he ever got as a Spur. And I'm also referring to the city life itself. I don't know the dude, but he wasn't even looking at the big market teams when he was a free agent (Orlando). Just makes me think he'd want to stay in a smaller market.

I feel like its the consistently good weather. Makes everyone just say, "Oh well, things are okay. Life is good." Here in Chicago, it's the end of the world if the Bears lose a game because we're all stuck in our houses in the 0 degree winter. All we can do is sulk inside and watch highlights of the loss.

Exactly, I didn't think of that. I can now conclude that she was the originator of the term FThunder.

Grant Hill said:
“I (had been) told everything was fine. I even found out that certain team doctors were questioning whether I was really hurt, thinking I was soft or whatever. This was after I had pulled myself from Game 2 against the Heat. At that time, when I found out I had broken my ankle, as crazy as this sounds, I was relieved. I finally had some confirmation, I finally had proof that I’m really not making it up.”

Hill said Isiah Thomas’ long shadow might have affected the way the Pistons dealt with his injury.
Jesus.
Grant Hill said:
“The next day the doctor who performed (my) surgery picks the paper up and saw that I played like 30 minutes and he was irate,” Hill said. “I wasn’t supposed to be on the court doing basketball-related activity until December. So somewhere along the line, the ball was dropped. And certainly I didn’t know that until the doctor informed me of that. Apparently he had forwarded all the information down there to Orlando."

The mythical dream team of McGrady, Grant Hill, and Tim Duncan would have won 6 rings together, real talk. Shaq would have been remembered as DRob 2.0.
