Why is are opposing teams inviting him to shoot in the 4th? Because hes no longer the player he once was. Why this is so hard for you to comprehend and accept is the real interesting question.
Made a sandwich. So were you saying he's not the player he once was a couple months ago when he was dropping 40s left and right? Were these opposing teams inviting him to shoot in the 4th waaaay back during the good ole days of January 2012? In these two months he's regressed that much?

The fact of the matter is:

- Kobe's putting in 5 extra mins of run this year AND has had the ball in his hands more because Lamar is no longer with us (R.I.P.). LO took a huge burden off Kobe with his ball-handling ability. There's no one on the bench with LO's size that can handle the ball like that, so Kobe had no choice. These factors account for his higher turnovers this year.

- Torn ligament + a combo of the above account for the lower FG%.

- Other than that the stats are virtually identical to last year, meaning he has not regressed. So if you take into account that he's kept his numbers despite his extra PT, extra ball-handling w/o LO, and wrist, it's not a crazy statement to say he's been rejuvenated this year. Also no issues at all reported with the knee after it was bothersome all last year. PRT worked and it's added years to his career and 'elite' level of play.

Just gotta say as a fan without a home team it doesn't get any better than watching Lebron and Durant. Haven't felt this way since 2000-2006ish Duncan and shaq. Just so fucking good.
