2013 Feb NBA Season lOT| Controlling it like a man, bruh

If they take care of business at home against the Wiz tomorrow they'll be 3.5 games back with 25 games to go. Given that Milwaukee's 2-8 in their last 10 and in free fall, it could happen. Toronto's got the 3rd weakest remaining schedule in the East.

Bucks lost their last three by one possession and the three losses before that were without their best player in Larry Sanders. Probably more bad luck than free fall.

What Kobe is doing really is amazing when you consider the mileage on his legs. Pretty unprecedented especially for a wing player. His only other contemporaries are guys like Nash and Ray Allen who are relegated to role player status. Kobe has outlived everyone.

Jermaine O'neal too lol

The Knicks spent years trading away dozens of players and picks just to be the 4th best team in a shitty shitty conference. Plus they'll probably get worse every year due to their geriatric lineup and clusterfuck of a payroll.
That being said they're still better than the wack ass Nets. Moris you done goofed.

NBA's most improved Nov/Dec to Jan/Feb: Toronto's Amir Johnson. Over 53% in scoring (12.1), rebounds (9.1), blocks (1.7). Maybe MIP of year?

Is it that bad? Like was this suppose to be the Knick's year? Or are they only going downhill with hold veterans from here on out? Shump is going to get better I know that, but what about the rest of the team?

finally learned how to not pick up dumb/quick fouls. His contract is looking pretty damn good right now

Well the Knicks are in win-now mode for at least 3 more years with their lineup of vets, but you'd think the Nets would get #1 seed according to their PR department. Especially with the way Avery was managing the team, people didn't see a way Nets could win outside of scoring over 100 a game.

Since PJ took over he finally started playing the younger guys more and running more, which has got the Nets back into the HCA discussion. Doesn't help he's not trying to gimp Deron like Avery would. They're on the right track, they just need their owner to shut up a bit.

Jason Kidd turns 40 next month and he's in their starting lineup.

Next season:

Camby will be 39
Kenyon Martin 36
Prigioni 36
Chandler 31
Amare 31
Kurt Thomas will be 41 (!)
Rasheed Wallace 39
White 31
Novak 30

That's 10 out of 15 guys in their 30s, two in their 40s. And Carmelo & Felton will be knocking on that door at 29.

It's not really a roster built for the long haul.

Getting a bunch of old vets on the cheap who know how to play is not the worst strategy, but they'll likely struggle to keep up a high level of play late into a season, and be prone to injury.

I honestly think Knicks would be in a good position were it not for Amare's contract. This shit is so ugly.

Other than that, they have pretty good contracts over reasonable amount of years. Melo is a max player, and 15 mil per is worth it for a defensive specialist like Chandler. Felton is getting paid decently (around 4 mil per) and could easily slide into a back up PG role as soon as they get someone better.

But really Amare's contract is so damn crippling, lol fucking sucks. Even if he was healthy he doesn't deserve that kind of $$$.

Idk I'm kinda numb, we haven't been this good in years but I feel like we're as far from a title as we've ever been, I don't think see any way that this roster can turn into a real contender in the next five years. We keep leveraging our future to win now and we're not gonna win shit.

Good thing Knicks have so many draft picks over the next few years to reload!

Seriously, gotta continue to draft very well/pickup cheap players and hope they continue to fit. Otherwise they'll need to dip into that luxury tax a bit.

Shit masud, you dead inside. I'm surprised a homeless family isn't squatting inside you now during the winter. Just gotta hope the Knicks adjust to turn around their recent bad play. This stretch will go a long way to determine who are the Knicks.

That Nets loss was mind boggling. DWill didnt even get home court calls in the last two minutes when he tried to create contact, lol. Sad.

I wanted to buy a Harden jersey for my friend for his birthday aaaanddd apparently they don't exist. The NBA store only has youths and none of the regular stores in Houston carry them (you have to pay an arm and a leg for one at the sneaker-head stores). I have never run into a situation where the superstar on a team doesn't have his jersey just plastered everywhere.

Shump will never be a competent offensive player; he's hard to watch out there.

Naw man he's gonna figure it out and turn into the next Wade... Then we'll trade him for Vince Carter. I was too young to remember the early Ewing years, the highest profile young player I've seen on the Knicks is probably David fucking Lee (who we of course traded) That's in 25 years!!! I'd honestly trade this team for a terrible one that had a couple of promising young players but like Frank said I'm dead inside.

... I remember when masud was one of the bright lights of Knicks-GAF, so full of hope... truly a beacon to shine into the future. Goddamit Knicks/NBAGAF see what you did??

Nets current M.O. just screams of mediocrity. I mean it's great their owner wants to win but some of their moves are pretty WTF. Trading their first rounder during a miserable season for Gerald fucking Wallace? and then re-signing him to 10 million per year? uh what

And then trading for Iso Joe, who has one of the worst contracts in the league (2nd to Amare). And then they offered Hump a 2 year 24 million deal? lmao thats just horrible

The pieces are there offensively, they just don't have the necessary defenders right now. I trust in PJ's ability to make things fit though, he's done it before and served under a phenomenal coach in Popovich.

I don't mind Fisher as much as other Jazz fans, but he's really becoming a shameless attention whore and ring chaser. Can't wait to hear about the intangibles he's bringing to the Thunder by wildly missing wide open threes.

Guess he got over missing his family as well or whatever.

Reggie Jackson has been better than Fisher has been the past 2 years.

lol. OKC's main rotation going into the playoffs will be the exact same as last year's except replace Harden with Kevin Martin.

Durant ain't long for that town...

From Bucher so probably bullshit but would be funny:

sources say that Collins has been consumed (does he do anything any other way?) with tracking the boxscores and performances of Moe Harkless, the rookie forward the Sixers sent to Orlando as part of the deal that netted them Bynum.

Harkless has actually played well offensively a few times this season, and his defense is good. I can see why he would track him, especially since he is only 19. His shooting percentage is a bit low, but damn that would suck if bynum is just gonna collect checks for the rest of the season.

Harkless is averaging 14/6 on 47% shooting his last 5 games, looks a bit like a young Luol Deng with worse court vision

don't think he'll lever be a good shooter off-the-dribble though, his release is way too slow
