There is something about Alan Wake...
It felt different from every game I played, the lightning it's just so good. And I'm not talking about rendering, but how the scenes are lit. It's not overblown like many other games (Hello godrays, dof and strange lens flares), it's so flat (in a good way),it feels very natural. Nighttime too.
Game's textures are terrible and it's full of low-poly models, but it looks very realistic.

Or maybe it's just the location. I'm a sucker for those old-style, stereotyped little towns surrounded by mountains.

BTW, where can I found this free cam mod?

I was really amazed at how much beautiful there is outside of the players path that you would never notice during normal play let alone when its dark.

My only complaint about it is that the models go to low textures way to early even at max draw distance preventing me from taking some shots.

last one for now .

Again i am impressed at the level of details in this game

ex. this antenna is one of the farthest points away from the normal game path yet still looks nice up close.

players current position: the hut all the way down in the valley.

Congratulations on the Sleeping Dogs shots man, the game is gorgeous, onde of the most beautiful games I've ever played, but it's so hard to show on screenshots.

hey is that your teeth down there?
better go down and have a look.

2 things,

1) Gotta get some AA all up in that

2) That shot is really reminding me of the pre-rendered Resident Evil backgrounds.

i was just looking at those and wondering if RAGE vanilla AA is FXAA ?

if so defenitely needs some extra juice through nv inspector.

Out of all the games I've shot, I think this one requires the most patience. And I'm still not happy with most of them.

Honestly Sleeping dogs is one of those games that totally made my jaw drop when I saw it with my own eyes. No screenshots will catch that.

I have to get screenshotting this game out of my system. Not much you can do with it anyways.

It looks pretty good yeah. Some of the times, cars look like they're made out of plastic though. Strange texture work here and there. Wei is definitely the coolest looking thing in this game. Hard not try and include him in every screenshot =)

I did a wonky experimental album of portrait shots too. Hard to do with the free camera, but kinda fun nonetheless.

Old shots of mine from Sleeping Dogs for the lulz. I also went through all my evolution of Fallout 3 modding. Man, what a progress.

question for any future hi res screenshots

in games what is better to force with NV inspector ?

MSAA.CSAA. supersampling or SGSSAA ?

Wind Waker looks SO GOOD

The great thing about cell shaded games graphics is that they never become ugly or have aged badly.

speaking about cell shaded i wish someone made a screenshot of Okami .now that game is truly art in my opinion.

I like how detailed their faces are. Even though I'm using mods this is a mind blowing step up from Oblivion, which faces even mods couldn't fix. Shame that Steam doesn't detect ENB's AA, real game isn't as jaggy as those pictures.

1) steam compresses pictures so try using FRAPS .

2) Just make sure stallion doesn't notice any compression or you will never hear the end of it.

other then that lovely Lydia.

Oh, I've enabled Steam to save uncompressed pictures. The downside of it is that it doesn't seem to detect SMAA/FXAA injectors. The pictures also looked a lot darker than they did in-game so I had to edit them in photoshop.

Cheers anyway! :D

This is the most cleavage showing Skyrim screenshot I have. I guess I like my characters a bit more... thin.

I'm a fan of thin, but if thick is done right... Not too keen on the larger sizes, though, but in all honesty, the face is the deciding factor in everything. /screenshot thread...

Also there's a mod that allows you to equip the sweat texture, so you can choose when to be sweaty...

Please, don't anyone ever read this post out of context.

So, what's everyone elses screenshot folders look like?

I usually delete all the shots that are completely worthless, but still, I should probably do some cleaning up.

Edit: All PNGs btw.

I was at around 231 GB the other day and had to so a massive cleanup.

Yeeah... 31MB per 4K screenshot adds up quick. And I tend to take a lot and sort through them only after I run my batch resize, as its faster to flip through resized PNGs than it is 4K BMPs.

Currently it looks like such:

8666189043_c782d7d74e_o.png

"Compressed" is basically resized. I keep it organized by play session. A new folder each time I open the game. Helps me find certain screenshots easier, especially in games like War Thunder.

How do you batch resize AND save as PNG?

I tried making a little script to do that, but it saved them all as PNG with the same filename but 001, 002, 003 at the end, rather than the actual time and date they were taken.

Mind sharing how you do it?
