2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

What res are you doing? I need to check if my games has the fix or not.

Edit 2: Ok I didn't set dsfix correctly and have been playing it wrong for the past 2 hours lol. I just changed some settings around, here's the result!

It's gorgeous!

That's with 5120x2880 internal res. I would also install the vegetation overhaul texture mod if I were you. You can get it here: http://darksouls.nexusmods.com/mods/56/?

Also these DSfix settings by Neoenigma look quite good: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9739867/sweetfx/DSfix.ini

The mod won't download for some reason. This is how I have mine:

# internal rendering resolution of the game
# higher values will decrease performance
renderWidth 2997
renderHeight 1873

Don't know if that's good or bad but the game looks good. Although I get frame drops in some areas, kinda frequently too.

Unless you're using Widescreen fixer, you should set your width and height to some multiple of 16:9.

For example, this is what I have in my DSFix.ini file

Code:
# internal rendering resolution of the game
# higher values will decrease performance
#renderWidth 7680
#renderHeight 4320

#renderWidth 5120
#renderHeight 2880

renderWidth 3200
renderHeight 5325

#renderWidth 2560
#renderHeight 1440

#renderWidth 1920
#renderHeight 1080

#renderWidth 1600
#renderHeight 900

#renderWidth 800
#renderHeight 720

Whenever you want to change, just comment out the old one and remove the pounds from the new one.

Also, ignore the 3200x5325 one, that's for portrait shots with Widescreen fixer.

My monitor is 16:10, will those numbers work for me?

Yes they will but there will be black bars like there is by default with Dark Souls.

Have you tried using Widescreen fixer? It'll get rid of those black bars if you use it.

Alo81, what graphic card are you using to get the internal resolution to work at 7680x4320?

Mine will keep crashing whenever I try to load a game if set anything higher than 5120x2880 resolution. Currently using a GTX780.

I'm using a 570, no clue why yours would be crashing. Have you tried setting the present width/height to 1920 and 1080 respectively?

Dark Souls is like all I have been playing recently and I still adore stare at screen after screen of it.

I know man, it looks amazing.

I'm on a 660, how high can I got with the res? I tried

renderWidth 3200
renderHeight 5325

but my game wouldn't start. I'm at the one before this one. Wish I could run higher, those other DS pics look even better than mine.

Just a heads up but that's a portrait resolution so unless you're using Widescreen Fixer it won't work.

Hey guys, I made a thread for gaming in portrait resolutions and you should check it out. It's for sharing screenshots, setups, game recommendations that work well in portrait, and general stuff like that.

If you wanna check it out you can go here. I'd love any feedback on it, thanks dudes.

Maybe that's why. I tried using Widescreen Fixer but I'm not sure if I did it right.

The way I do it is set the render w/h at whatever resolution I want to render at, then I set Widescreen Fixer and Dark Souls at the resolution that would actually match my screen at that aspect ratio or match the resolution of the screenshots I wanna capture.

So for that portrait res, I would set DSFix to the one you used, Dark Souls to 1920x3200 and Widescreen Fixer the same as Dark Souls.

Right now I'm trying to get portrait mode to work, I'm curious to see how it plays out. In DSfix I have:

renderWidth 1440
renderHeight 2560

And in Widescreen Fixer I have:

Display count 1
Uncorrected resolution: 1440 2560
Bezel-Corrected resolution: 1200 1920

The game starts but Widescreen Fixer crashes:

Nice PS2 shots everyone! Great portrait shots too Alo81. I've never tried to take any shots like that.

You should set it up like this.

renderWidth 1600
renderHeight 2560

Uncorrected resolution: 1200 1920
Bezel-Corrected resolution: 1200 1920

Also, make sure Dark Souls (the actual application) is also set to 1200x1920. If you plan to take screenshots, it's best to do it in full screen mode when doing portrait.

I have been loving RE6 and was going to post screens but TBH it takes really shitty screens. Looks so much better when you are playing it.

i know this is not the place to ask questions but i really need some help.sorry

any idea why games wont run on DX11 with sweetFX? tomb raider defaults to DX9, f1 2012 wont even start
