I really love the look of the C7. That price is pretty great for what this car offers. Its within reach of a lot of peoples budget. I really want one.

Yeah, that's what it seems... that's awesome. I was sure the Stingray designation would be saved for an "up-sell model."

Dealer markup is going to be insane at first - but if one of these things can be snagged used in a year for low 40s, I actually may be in the market for one. Crazy, really. I figured my next vehicle would be a "new" used 2013ish Camaro SS in the low $30s. But another $10K for this seems like a no-brainer if the finances allow it.

EDIT: Curious to see what the interior looks like without the fancy navigation and Recaro (?) seats, though. Might be a good step down.
These are the normal seats:

Oh snap, those are perfectly fine by me! If the screen is standard and the seats are like that; then yeah, base model works for me.

I've never been a snob about the interior of a sports car (hell, I love the Vette, Camaor and old Viper, so I really can't be). Those base-level seats are probably better than the seats in 90% of the vehicles on the road today. And yeah, the interior isn't high-dollar Audi or top-of-the-line Porsche levels; but for $50K, I really don't see how anyone can complain. It's not like it's BAD by any means.

Looks like there was a definite Ferrari influence on the front and the sides. It still manages to look unique while making you think of Ferrari, which may have been the intent all along.

The back looks fine. I could do without the black droop at the far edge of the taillight, but it looks distinctive and stylish. Some people in this thread are throwing around some heavy hyperbole that just makes them look ridiculous, but this is the Internet, after all. I guarantee you that those same people would just call it a Ferrari ripoff if the taillights were rounded and more subtle. Some people always gotta have something to complain about, I guess.

I don't see how the Stingray brand gets evoked in the design though. Even though the new Camaro design was a radical change, it still evoked the spirit of the original, which this Corvette doesn't really do. As multiple people have said in here, a split rear window would've gone a long way here.

Overall it looks quite nice. Against other cars in the price range, it looks godly, especially since they finally brought the interior up to par.

I still don't understand why you'd want a 7 speed manual in a passenger car.

They seem to have taken the Camaro rear end and just transplanted it on the Corvette.

I don't think they are that close. The Corvette rear is a lot smaller too. The square tail lights is pretty much the Chevy corporate look now. The 2013 Malibu also has them but on the C7 they are much more aggressive looking than the Camaro.

^^^ Yeah, can't say I can agree with those thinking the rear looks ripped from the Camaro. Sure, there are no longer rounded lights, and they're instead replaced with Camaro-esque lights. But that's where the similarities end, IMO.

Right, maybe not an exact copy, but it looks more like I'd expect a redesign of the Camaro rear end to look. Its got a pretty similar design philosophy.

Does not look like a Corvette from the back at all.

I might get used to it. Need to see it more regularly.

Ah, fair enough; I seem to have misunderstood the complaints. I suppose I could see that.

So, curious....

What do you all think brings people to the Camaro ZL1 over the new C7; and what will make others choose the C7 over the ZL1?

I like the new design a lot. I might pick up the Z06 equivallant if the price isn't too different from what they are today

I agree. Like it or not, the Corvette is considered the American super car so it definitely isn't a bad thing to evoke some Italian exotic.

That's the one thing I can't stand about American muscle cars. Too much nostalgia in the designs. They need to bring the cars into the 21st century.

Man, I'm loving these sharp angles. It's like they took the new Viper, but altered away its bulbous body into something more aggressive.

The c7 is woefully styled imo. Even worse than I thought. Looks like an origami car. Lines everywhere. 450hp and 59k base price. Lets just say its good for the resale of c6 vettes.

Oh, $59K? Still a good deal; but not nearly as good as I was anticipating. I thought I read "a hair above $50K", so I was thinking $51995.

There are ZERO indications it will be $59K.....everything is pointing to a 50-54k base price.....

Maybe 62K for a loaded Z51 like the one I'm gonna get ;)

Many good angles of the car but a few things I'm not jiving with. Overall pretty happy with the direction they are going, seems they are finally letting go of the past and just going for it.

That looks amazing. Seriously impressive. I know the car in those shots won't be the base model but still, very nice.
