How did you make Gunslinger look so good? I tried downsampling and SMAA and the game still looked super jaggy. Not that it really matters because now the game crashes every time I try to start it.

I really don't know :p
There is only FXAA I think and it is downsampled from 1440p.
As for your crashing maybe try to delete video.ini file from techland folder in Users->Appdata->Local (it's hidden folder). Also this game sometimes don't like D3DOverrider and apps with overlays like MSI Afterburner,FRAPS and others so try to run it without it if you are using any.

Also WOW at all these PCars screens,so stunning

Bringing these to the new page because I liked them a lot =p

I liked the first one. I actually respawned Seath with Cheat Engine and used a homeward bone after setting my bonfire location to his battle arena. When I arrived, he was just sitting there looking at me. Made it easier to grab a few shots :)

I feel like Seath is the highlight of the game. Such a beautifully designed enemy. Can't imagine anything topping him.

When I first faced Seath I was honestly pretty underwhelmed because I was instantly on full defense mode and didn't take any time to really appreciate the design.

But once you actually stop and take a good look at him, it's a really interesting design for a boss. I really love the wings

I need to revisit her. None of them turned out great but I like what the SSAO is doing in this one.

I've heard that a few times now. Praise be to Durante. The pause is excellent.

My first foray into downsampling. It could honestly use a bit higher res, but I'm just testing the waters here. It already makes a huge difference with a game as jaggy as this. Cant believe I've been missing this for so long. It was way easier than I thought it would be.

Dead Spaces run great. Just downsample like there is no tomorrow + SMAA and you'll be set.

These are from 8k? There is still alot of aliasing... Also how are you running it at 8k?

I made a custom 4k resolution in "Nvidia control Panel" and then used game's built in downsampling method "DSX6" turned on, which technically in reality should be much higher than 8k!

For example if my resolution was set at 1080p (1920x1080) and DSX was set at DSX4 then it would multiply that rez four times giving you 4k!

What shield is that?

Great DkS shots as always. Love the pointing at Priscilla shot a lot. :)

As much as I would LOVE to take credit for the Priscilla shot, that belongs to Neoenigma, not myself!

The shield is the Cauduceus Kite Shield but I'm using a texture mod to make it fit my characters armor better.

Ah okay, figured it was a mod. And yeah I know it was neoenigma, I was speaking generally. Always dig those gorgeous Dark Souls shots.

Awesome 3D action, Alo.

These are bog standard 1080p shots, but I think these show off the environments quite well without needing any DoF to hide anything.

Wow, you can respawn enemies with the techojacker/freecam table? Tell me more!

Yep!

In the flags section there is a "Boss defeated" flag. You can toggle any of the bosses as alive again and when you enter the Area they'll be there again.

What did you downsample the resulting image with?

Maybe it's the games downsampling solution then that is creating the problem before it's delivered to your display resolution because it shouldn't look that aliased with that much resolution.

Another game with built in downsampling Trine 2 works great and the filter is actually an adjustable bicubic filter.

As an example

I ran the game at 3200x1800 with 4xSSAA (2x2) with FXAA

Here is the game's delivered result to the monitor http://i.minus.com/iA7axs9H328xL.png

And here is the raw original 6400x3600 with FXAA (Had to be converted to level 12 JPG for file size requirements of minus.com) http://i.minus.com/iz54DOGF5isO4.jpg

Here is the 3200x1800 image downsampled again to my monitor resolution of 1600x900 via bicubic http://i.minus.com/iFuxx1kpjU3G7.png

and the raw 6k image downsampled the same way http://i.minus.com/iQpD7T8yfkej.png

For fun no AA http://i.minus.com/ibrJ0vAQOpHkGj.png

(Perhaps PCars just needs something like a Toksvig map http://www.selfshadow.com/sandbox/gloss.html)

It's gotta be the downsampling method if the results being returned are so bad.

I play on a 4k tv, so my resolution is set at 4k, but i was using the game's built in dowsampling method!

Here is one with no DS, only 4xMSAA and 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling, i think it looks a lil bit better (but still not as clean as some other pCARS pic's i've seen) what do you guys think?

Are you running in DX11? Enhanced SGSSAA? That would explain why SGSSAA doesn't seem to be working perfectly in this shot.(Or maybe the PCars devs really just need to take a long hard look at this http://mynameismjp.wordpress.com/2013/07/28/siggraph-follow-up/ ) IQ wise looks great

And once the image is downsampled though it looks amazing. Cleans up the aliasing better than other methods i've seen.

Yes mate, DX11 and also Enhanced 4xSGSAA...as 8xSGSAA used to work a year and a half ago, but not anymore! I don't know what else to do:( ?

Okey Dokey, so unfortunately, it doesn't really work that way, as evident by vram usage (I have the game as well). I've found the DSX AA to be prety lackluster. I've tried to figure out on the forums what is happening with that setting, and somehow whatever they're doing is just definitely not a 'multiplier'. People run the game at 1080p/DS9x, and on rigs that don't have insane amounts of vram. Its a really odd AA solution and I'd recommend not using it.

This looks alot better, but runs into the same issue I've had with the game, is that its not quite enough (and you probly still have some horsepower to spare, yeah?)

Its especially frustrating because the game used to support SGSSAA in DX11, and that was amazing. Somehow I could once run it at 4k with 8xSGSSAA and still get ~10fps. It was gorgeous.

Now, the max you can clean it up in Dx11 is your render res + the MSAA setting.

If you can force dx9 (I haven't been able to lately), you can force SGSSAA. You can also run the game in a windowed mode with SoftTH and set some sort of actual above-4k res. I snapped a couple shots at 5120 x 2880 or something a while back, and it finally looked clean, but didn't run much better than SGSSAA (I have 2 gigs vram).

I wish they would reimplement dx11 SGSSAA, but I've even asked and they still have not brought it back :(

Here is a shot with how I set it up now, which is dx11 and MSAA (i can't even window dx9 anymore), and whatever. Its clean enough, and it even runs 40~50 fps.

There is SFX as well. Gaussian bloom is nice to offset the game's occasional 'clinical' look.

...anyway..

Dude, that's pretty fuckin clean. You nailed it, you probably don't need to push it much more beyond that.

You're getting gorgeous IQ at REALLY playable framerates. You won. You beat it.

MrR...you're the man! I forced the game in DX9, forced SGSAA, and it looks so much cleaner:)

My V-Ram doubled on all of my cards from 2600+ to 5300+, also GPU usage is 99% all across. Here's 2 pic's in native 4k, no downsampling, just 4xMSAA & 4xSGSAA!

Thanks for the help mate:):):)

Is there any good Freecam and NoHud Mod for NFS Hot Pursuit? Something similar you guys use for Most Wanted?

There is an ingame photo mode which is quite good. It takes horribly lossy JPGs in 720p BUT if you bind your screencap key to the same key as the in-game photo key, voila, you'll shoot the scene as it appears, without the HUD. No mods necessary and the camera can do pretty much anything you want
