🙄
The guy just wanted to hang out with his only friend. Fuck Mario.

Both Swedish. WTF is going on over there. You guys don't like fun clearly.
I LOVE fun, but I also want QUALITY. This looks more like a bad tech demo of some sort. Zero art direction, just a super weird color scheme. I hope for a miracle in the end though. Will still wait for Metroid instead. Mario Kart and this does not do it for me.

Way to spoil the game, Nintendo!
yea, but likely from the starter area and she seems to be part of main game. They likely c could not spoil it to not show his new powers!

But it was spoiled already from some Korean site or ratings board! This is just confirmation!

Your loss

This will have rave reviews

We don't know that, it's just what people are guessing based on how it looks. It very clearly resembles SMO tech-wise.

It might be part of that team, but I don't think it's the full or main team. They are working on the next 3D Mario. This looks like a smaller team to me, it's clearly not as high budget as a mainline Mario game.
Never talk to me or my son again.

EDITED weeks later after official reveal that DK Bananza was developed by the Odyssey team:

Told you, dumb ass.

A great presentation, the game will be amazing. I played the demo on the Switch 2 event before the console's premiere. The framerate was dropping when I was just destroying everything, so it's a demanding title, for sure.

Wow that got me a little emotional for a moment there. Nintendo trying to legit tell a story in platformer is neat novelty.

The Bananza transformations look to take the place of Animal Buddies with their functionality. I'd rather be riding Expresso but this does look really good! I mean look at the booty! Also at the very least Rambi is ridable in those Diddy + Dixie challenge sections. So you know maybe there is hope for other Animal Buddies with a similar role.

The opening narration makes me think K Rool is in the game.

I used to be a huge nintendo guy back in the n64/gamecube days 'love the nes and snes as well' but nowadays i just look at some of their games and say to myself 'What am i not seeing here that everyone else is seeing'.

This game looks terrible artistically and i absolutely hate the dark and saturated color palette they're going with, the punch mechanics look like a gimmick that will get old insanely fast because pounding the environment over and over and over can only be entertaining for so long and the game looks like it's going to be braindead easy just like mario odyssey was. Nintendo games used to have challenge in them and they used to do things that felt unique/amazing. I look at this game and i just feel myself getting bored playing it within 2 hrs if i sat down and tried it. Maybe that's just me though.

This game is making it harder for me to hold off on purchasing a Switch 2. Looks fantastic!
I still have my Switch 2 unboxed. I thought of returning it and get the OLED version in a couple of years. But. seeing games like this, makes me want to just keep it, and then trade it in when the OLED releases. I don't want to wait 3/4 years and miss out on potential great games like this.

I might not be a huge Nintendo fan, I nitpick them a lot.

But there is potential here. They have shown some powerups and also ability to create terrains. Could be a lot of fun if used properly.

Though I do feel this stuff is used by them to create hype, you get this stuff for a short duration and are able to use in a limited way.

But either ways, there is potential here.

I see potential as well but something just looks off idk. I really wish nintendo would have difficulty options or up the difficulty of some of there games though tbh. The faceroll easy mode gets repetitive in my eyes and it's what caused me to get bored with mario odyssey when i played it years ago.

Ok, don't know what I ever doubted Nintendo.

This looks really great. And I love the Pauline addition.

Getting this.

It's possible you just don't like Nintendo games... and that's okay. Not sure what else you expect from a first party Nintendo game. This is their art style.

That's some bad bananergy.

I'm a bit lost on the gorillalore, but is this DK actually Cranky Kong?

nope. Cranky Kong is seen in the direct.

so the lore in this game clearly clashes with Mario Odyssey, where it was implied that the original Donkey Kong was canon, which would mean that Cranky Kong kidnapped adult Pauline.
but here Cranky Kong is already old and Pauline is a kid...

🤷

This game, much like Odyssey, will probably be brain dead easy to roll credits but the "post game" will bring a ton of challenge just like in Odyssey.

I hate to be that guy but, boy would I love to know the narrator's demographics..... I can't imagine that Nintendo is that stupid from an optics perspective but, while watching the direct...... Something sounded very off.

see... when i keep saying games aren't selling themselves, doing anything interesting or are generally bland.

this is a prime example of the right way to do it.

Like who would've known zebra dk would be a thing, surprise and new ideas is fundamental to games and the big AAA western studios have all forgotten what it means to have fun and to be surprised.

So basically Super Mario Odyssey but with terraforming.... It'll probably be fun but with these games for me it's whether the novelty wear off fast or not.

This is game I would probably buy for $30-$40 but it will probably never be that price...

I played the post game in mario odyssey and enjoyed it because of the challenge, but i wish the main game had challenge to it as well and wasn't just so easy. I mean some of my favorite nintendo games ever are super mario bros 3, mario 64, etc and those games had good challenge to them. Mario odyssey for example gave out lives like it was giving out free candy and it really hurt my experience with it personally.

All the "smashing things will wear off" peoples

What Is Wrong With You Season 4 GIF by The Office

Steamworld dig was basically crack. Digging, smashing, building. How is this not the best fucking thing to happen to a 3D world platformer.

Bruh, Mario Odyssey didn't have lives. It took coins off you if you "died". And in regards to Mario 64; I don't think that game is hard because of the platforming, I think it's hard because 99% of the time you're fighting with the camera and controls. That's not a problem in odyssey, which is probably why it's easier. It's just feels better and natural.

They can't keep getting away with their complete disregard for gorillore!

This is not their art style at all. Parts of SMO look similar to this, but literally no other game that I can think of.
