That was amazing, but...holy shit this is ending next week? I thought it had a full season :(

Seriously though, I don't remember the last time I laughed this much during a 30 Rock episode. Kenneth was gold, so were the green screen jokes. Very sweet moment, too, when Kenneth got the job.

I didn't find the episode to be as funny as recent weeks, but I did think it was incredibly touching. I think maybe I prefer a show simply being cancelled all of a sudden, because watching a show I love slowly come to an end is really sad. Loved the Willy Wonka tour group, hated Kenneth being given NBC, loved loved loved Iranian Homonym (is that Nasim's sister?), and was happy to see Pete finally show up in an episode. So terribly underused the entire run of the show. Was also cool to see Tina's husband show up. Her oldest daughter showed up earlier in the season (playing young Liz at a wedding). One more episode. One more episode. Sigh. I kinda wish it was a live episode.

Why do you hate Kenneth being given NBC?

He put up with all their shit for 7 years. Certainly the character deserves the position more than anyone else? Since the only qualification is to like the company.

I just thought it was stupid. Kenneth already created a show that nearly destroyed NBC (Gold Case). Giving it to Liz after mentoring her for so long would have fit. Wouldn't have been as silly though.

Fair enough.

However Liz already had her chance in the business world... I believe she didn't like it.

Also she has her family to start!

Wonder what she'll end up doing after TGS. Hope that's something they go into.

I wish NBC could afford to waste a night and just do a 30 Rock Tribute night and have a two hour block of 30 Rock inspired shows. I'd watch Homonym, Bitch Hunter, Gold Case, Milf Island.

Real damn shame I haven't been following the show for the last couple of seasons. I'll be sure to watch the last two episodes prior to the finale next week

The rapid fire and great delivery of jokes on this show....goddamn.

I'm pretty excited to go back and watch the show from the start though, as I can only imagine how many jokes I have missed over the years from laughing so hard at the previous lines.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
I thought everyone knew that Kenneth was going to get this job? They made it obvious a few seasons ago when Jack said:

"One day, he's either going to kill us...or run this entire company. God help us all."

Something along those lines.

Has anyone seen the Rolling Stone cover with the text removed? I want to use it for my iPad Mini lock screen.

Thanks.

It wouldn't really have fit though. Jack and Liz have had a mentor relationship, but she's never been groomed to fit that job. and she wouldn't want it.
the show has always been silly and Kenneth was pretty much guaranteed to get that job years ago.
terrifying.

lol I'm expecting Kenneth to completely tank NBC

and then it ends with Kenneth telling some higher power that the jobs is done

Homonym has to be one of the best running gags the show has had. It's funny EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE.

I think they should run with Kenneth as President for the entire week. Cross promote it throughout NBC. Have him play Kenneth as NBC President in a couple of interviews too.

heh I'm expecting them to reference him being an angel or immortal or whatever the hell he is once more, but I think they'll do it with him bring NBC to impossible highs. Either way, should be funny.

When that gag started I was thinking "nah. this has been hilarious, but there's no way I'll find it funny when I don't understand what's being said. It'll just be random." NOPE. I died, once again.

Finally gotten around to watching the last episode.

Love it, absolutely loved it. Great jokes, that ending was pretty sweet for the show. Sad but can't wait for the finale now.

About time that Kenneth got NBC. Wonder if that gravestone tag will come true too.

People keep talking about Tina's husband like this the first time thats happened, but he's shown up on the show tons of times from off the top of my head both live shows to a few christmas episodes. He's shown up pretty consistently as a TGS musician. Really surprised if this is the first time people have noticed

The best metagag was in the cold opening almost needlessly adding in the Treme theme, just to at the end have Jack go "These expensive licensed musical cues are just the sort of thing you can't do anymore!" when Liz tries to work in ghostbusters

Did I miss an episode during one of the bad seasons where Tracy lost the billion dollars he made from the porn video game? Not sure why he'd be worried about getting another job or burning his house down for the insurance money.

I knew Tina's husband did the music on the actual show but I never knew what he looked like.

Yeah, he writes all the music for the show; he's not really a surprise.

I don't think Richmond gets enough praise for his work on the show. 30 Rock's score has always been impressive. The MILF Island theme, the way he worked the Muffintop tune into any scene featuring a menacing Jenna...I love it.

I've noticed him a few times before, but I found it funny they actually tried to put a mustache on him and made him look like a hobo. I didn't see it the first time around, and just realized it during the credits.

man this show is too good lately.

man i hope they do something crazy with kenneth at the end.

all the references to him being some godly creature or some quantum leaper or whatever the hell he is. I hope it pays off.

like someone else said, his mission all this time was to become president and destroy tgs or nbc or something and he really is evil and he's been wearing a mask this whole time and underneath he is really one of the guys from big bang theory or something.

and LMAO at little jenna/tracy. so perfect.

I never expected this season to be SO good. Thursday will be a sad day but I'm happy it's going out on such a high note.

Kenneth's NBC song in the last ep would've suited the finale too.
