Sooo... just found out about Crozet. Did a search, didn't come up in this thread.

80s synth chill wave. I know some of you will love this! Reminds me a bit of M83.

I normally lurk and just take tips from you guys so I'm feeling pretty good about getting to share one for once! New Street Cleaner is out and I've been enjoying it, starts off with a sweet bang after the intro.

The Groupees Synthwave 2 bundle is up for pre-order. 8 albums for a dollar. 18 hours left.
I normally really disliked Groupees' "preorder bundles", since they're almost always crap, but I feel pretty good about preordering this one. Pretty much all of their synth bundles have been at least decent if not downright great.

Synthwave 2 bundle is live.

$1:

Diamond Field - Neon Summer (Maxi-Single)
Meteor - Manhattan 2019
Street Cleaner - Payback
Tokyo Rider - Selected Tapes
(Bonus #1) Diamond Field - This City (Maxi-Single)
(Bonus #2) Meteor - Exclusive Track

$2:

20SIX Hundred - Player One
Confrontational - A Dance of Shadows
Highway Superstar - Take My Time
Timecop1983 - Journeys

That's what I find too. I usually come across one or two albums that I love.

Guise,

Doesn't Perturbator live in Paris? I hope he's okay.

I just noticed that Brut's Facebook page says "not from paris" in the about section.

Death Dream has to be one of my favorite albums this year. While I did expect more of the neon abstraction takes on the 80s tropes that was present in Trevor Something Does Not Exist, he still provided one hell of an engrossing album that's much darker, and Trevor's vocals are still damn dreamy. Had it on repeat all day.

I guess there's some kind of chain reaction going for offering your whole discography at a discount? First got an e-mail that 30th Floor Records were doing it, now Cluster Buster and VHS Glitch are following suit. The 30th Floor deal is uninteresting to me personally, but everything by Cluster Buster and VHS Glitch is a pretty sweet deal to me and I think I'm going to bite.

Oooooh shit. You going?

Yeah i bought the ticket already.

But i mean, it's a year from now :D Dunno what my life situation then will be. It's a 40€ risk-investment. Gotta have the ticket as it will sell out for sure.

Will worry about flights and hotels later. I live in Finland.

El Huervo just announced that he has a LE 100 white reprints of his Turf vinyl, which has 5 tracks on it. It's only nine fookin dollars and less than $5 shipping to the US. I remember seeing a bunch of people on GAF saying Turf was one of their favorite tracks on Hotline Miami, and even if it isn't the art alone justifies the purchase.

P.S. Don't be greedy, just get one for yourself so other fans have a chance.

I've been listening to Carpenter's Lost Themes for the past week. So good. Wish I had found these earlier. Another thing to make the wait for DWTD's album easier.

I'd love to know more about him, saw a picture once and yeah he's been around. Surely he must have produced other music before now under a different name?

Not sure if serious but just in case, John Carpenter is a legendary director from the 70's/80's/90's who scored his own movies.

22$ for a single 7" is just too much.

hate the generic Priority Courier shipping on Bandcamp for 7" records to Europe... can't they just slip them it in an envelope and ship it for 5$ :E

Let's keep this thread alive, fellow synth lovers! What are your favourite albums, EPs and/or songs of 2015?

I'll start:

Favourite album: Waveshaper - Exploration 84

Favourite EP: Carpenter Brut - III

Favourite song: Sebastian Gampl - Without You

That is a difficult task.

There were too many good albums released this year.
Behemoth - Gost
Exploration 84 - Waveshaper
Wilderness - Makeup and Vanity Set
Gunship - Gunship
Trilogy - Carpenter Brut (Should it be considered an album?)

But I think I'm going for Wilderness - Makeup and Vanity Set, I love the theme and the similarities with some of the IDM I listen to.

For the EP, I'm going with Destryur's Endurance.

And for the individual track, Tech Noir from GUNSHIP's album.

I`ll be seeing Carpenter Brut in Antwerp, Belgium on the 22nd of Januari. Great to finally see some synthwave artists starting to show up locally.

I need to get much better at checking albums out at home... I have so many things lying around that I haven't even heard yet. Just bundles alone has left me with most of Timecop1983's discography and I don't think I've ever heard one song from them yet.

So my album of the year is Gunship because it was the one I can remember listening to the most. Y'all are crazy, though, the best part of the album is clearly the 1-2 punch of Shadow Fury and Pink Mist. I can loop those two tracks for the rest of my life.

One thing that stood out for me is a negative award... I nominate Power Glove's EPII as the "WTF, I waited years for this?" release of the year.

I don't know if anyone's posted this album yet, since it came out earlier in the year, but I found Cytherea Somniare last week and I absolutely adore it. Really dark, haunting soundscapes here, very cyberpunk-y. For some reason Chamber Song sounds like it's straight out of Super Metroid to me!

Wilderness by Makeup and Vanity Set is my favourite this year. I've not listened to much this year, though. I've probably missed out on some incredible stuff.

Also, I can't believe I get to see John Carpenter perform live next October. I'm giddy with excitement.

Some new albums:

Run Vaylor - Metropolis; 10 heart pulsing inner city future techno tracks reminiscent of 80s and 90s influenced anime and futuristic sci-fi akin to Blade Runner. [The link to Blade Runner is a bit iffy, but it's a nice album nontheless with an awesome cover]

Retro Promenade - It's Christmas Time Mr. Falcon; Here are 10 tracks of Christmas themed retro synth & synthwave, from a super radical cast of characters, ready to be the perfect soundtrack to your holiday parties.
