80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Just bought Out of Body from Dance with the Dead last night...what a corker of an album. One of the best synth albums I have ever listened to, easily. Sunset is an absolute stunner. I was already a fan of these guys but this is my favourite of their works, definitely. Still needs to get Near Dark yet though.

And yes various labels are doing 80% off, guessing for January sales.

I still think Out of Body is the best.

Sure, there's some filler in the middle which is probably why the other albums are shorter but it's got more quality tracks than any other release.

Vhs Glitch just posted on Facebook that only 50 copies of Land With No Future are left on vinyl.

Have grabbed myself one as the album is fantastic.

Juno Records is the place to go to get one before they sell out

Thanks for the tip, got mine ordered.

The Carpenter Brut trilogy is getting another limited vinyl release. Limited to 500 copies. Pre Order is going live soon apparently.

The Neuropa Facebook page will announce the date for the pre order

Oh god, let me be awake for this.

When I stumbled upon this lovely cover art while browsing new synthwave albums on Bandcamp, I knew I had to give this album a listen. I'm happy to say the music is worthy of the cover art! There's something for everyone on this album: fast upbeat tracks, vocal synthpop, gritty dark synth and even some moody neo-noir synth jazz!

I know it's not the popular opinion but I think Wrath of Code is really dull and turned me off Terminus until I heard Stratospheric and Benthic, both of which I find better than Code.

Actually had the same experience with MegaDrive. Couldn't get into 198X but I liked Hardwired.

Yeah, that's the thing with retrosynth. Just like parody, it takes a lot of talent and proper timing to create a masterpiece. There's a lot of irony in it, and I don't mean it in a hipster way. Making good music out of 80's and 90's musical tropes is not easy at all.

Flawless, producers and composers are super rare. For every Perturbator or Carpenter Brut there are hundreds of SUPER SYNTH HERO MEGA FORCE X-TREME RECORDS (which is still awesome, even if for all the wrong reasons).

^^Well I'm going to have to preorder that! IIRC isn't that side scrolling beat'em up with Carpenter Brut actually releasing too?

Released this month, this album is surely an early contender for worst album art of the year but there's some great stuff on here. The 2nd track for example had my jaw on the floor.

I don't know what type of music it is and frankly I can't be arsed with that kind of thing. That came up on Spotify while listening to Le Matos' artist radio and I liked it.

True, wasn't tryin to be a snob just lettin you know what to look for if you enjoy it. I've been listenin to perturbator and the like for a few years and never even knew it was called retrowave til a couple months ago. I'm glad I know the genre name because it's easier to find stuff I enjoy now.

Just saw Carpenter Brut in Antwerp on friday. Was far better than I expected live. Didn`t expect live drums, synth and guitar. Was pretty amazing.

Also bought the 3 red vinyl trilogy album for 35 euro afterwards.

First synthwave performance I saw in this country and it`s already going to be hard to top. It was a very small gig though. There were like 80 people there.

His shows are awesome. From the live videos I've seen, they're pretty intense, with some killer lighting.
