80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

A new synth challenger appeared. His name: Morgan Willis.

Okay, he's appearently already been at it since mid-2015, but I didn't find him until now and I don't see him mentioned in this topic either, which is a shame. Dude's good.

Starts out slow and kinda weak, but don't turn away, it gets really catchy very fast.

This is just an all around catchy tune.

A nice and slow song.

And of course there's more, just take a look for yourself.

The best thing I heard all year (from 2015) is definitely Wilderness. It's a tad too big, but the good stuff is amazing.

This is a great community btw.

No Perturbator, but you get the new Jordan F album to start off the new year.
Was waiting for this.

Loving this so far.

I often find vocals can make or break Synthwave tracks, which is why Gunship's album was so interesting.Dana Jean Pheonix is a great vocalist within the genre, I really like her track.

Listening to Set Me Free right now, the track's got a real cheeky bassline.

Ey mate. No mention of the lecassette track? I'll have you know, Adam Mcnab is the best in the business.

Wow, there is some gif material in that.

Cut a clip from it a while back for my thirsty, drinky thread (WebM embedder needed for context).

Run Vaylor - Metropolis; 10 heart pulsing inner city future techno tracks reminiscent of 80s and 90s influenced anime and futuristic sci-fi akin to Blade Runner. [The link to Blade Runner is a bit iffy, but it's a nice album nontheless with an awesome cover]

Nice cover. Can't really get into many of these releases though, they all start sounding the same tbh.

I've been listening to this and it's so good. I like the more ambient tracks.

Same, great album.

It's a nice ntidote to a lot of other retro wave albums these days where every track has to be super up tempo and sound like chase music. Getting kinda burnt out on those tbh.

Trevor Something uploaded "Trip" to Soundcloud.

I haven't listened to Death Dream so it's my first time hearing it.

Haven't really liked his last few singles since Summer Love but this is nice, dreamy synth goodness.

The Carpenter Brut trilogy is getting another limited vinyl release. Limited to 500 copies. Pre Order is going live soon apparently.

The Neuropa Facebook page will announce the date for the pre order

Yeah, do yourself a favor and watch Turbo KId, it's on Amazon Video and a few other streaming services, like PSN and Xbox Live video services.

Yeah I saw it and it's fantastic. The director(s) really did a great job, and it had that classic 80's feel. The battle scenes at the end were hilarious. Hammer Nunchucks are a thing, and it's beautiful.

Not sure if this is an official poster but it's sweet:

Vhs Glitch just posted on Facebook that only 50 copies of Land With No Future are left on vinyl.

Have grabbed myself one as the album is fantastic.

Juno Records is the place to go to get one before they sell out

Ah ben tabarnac Yves Corbeil lol

Dude is a local celebrity in Quebec's francophone community but apparently he was recast with Michael Ironside.

Pauvre Yves... au moins il lui reste Fais-Moi Un Dessin.

Nice thread. Just stumbled upon it looking for Perturbator stuff. Grabbed 3 of his albums a few weeks ago, love the cases for them things. Also grabbed that Turbo Kid soundtrack, only one listen through but it sounded sick.

This is honestly my favorite style of music, it's just so good. Sometimes it gives me evil thoughts though....haha

I'll definitely be checkin some of this thread out sometime. I mainly listen to Perturbator, Carptender Brut, Mega Drive, and now that Turbo Kid sountrack hopefully. Always on the hunt for new music.

I notice that for a lot of artists on Bandcamp they're discounting entire discographies by varying amounts. Have any of you come across really great deals for this?

Some of them could seem like a minor sale to get everything, from like 15% off. But other times I've seen upwards of 80% off to get everything.

Just bought Out of Body from Dance with the Dead last night...what a corker of an album. One of the best synth albums I have ever listened to, easily. Sunset is an absolute stunner. I was already a fan of these guys but this is my favourite of their works, definitely. Still needs to get Near Dark yet though.

And yes various labels are doing 80% off, guessing for January sales.
