GUNSHIP! Also check out d.notive. He has some really good vocal tracks. Dead Astronauts is excellent as well.

Nice, playlisted on spotify already.

I've been really enjoying La Cassette and the vocals on Timecop1983 and wondered about some more bands like that.

Check out the songs 'No Turning Back', 'Back in the Saddle', 'Martyr', 'Second Chances'. Great vocal stuff there.

This one is in my playlist constantly these days. Some super good vocal tracks here. Check out the tracks 'Flat/Line', 'Like a Curse' and 'One Last Kiss'.

The burning question is if this new Perturbator will also score a badass animated feature to go along with it like the last time around? If there's one thing, aside from the covers, that can enhance this sort of fine music further---it is definitely finely wrought animated happenings.

What animated feature are you talking about?

Dude, really loved D.notive and Confrontational. Loved D.notive mixes, just aggressive and awesome, My favourite with vocal was Martyr. Vocals on Confrontational are superb, felt in love with Flat/Line.

Enjoyed both Gunship and Dead Astronausts, but the mixes fell a bit flat to me in comparison to D.notive and Confrontational, still enjoyed it though.

I'll echo Dead Astronauts and Gunship. Anything that has Dana Jean Phoenix on it and Electric Youth. Makeup & Vanity Set has a couple of tracks with vocals sprinkled in their latest album that are damn good.

Oh yeah man, love Dana Jean Pheonix voice and her own stuff, bought a couple of albums on bandcamp, amazing voice.

Check out the Video Video album 'Planet of Storms'. Amazing stuff.

Just checked them up, very nice and the one witb the most New Wave vibe i got from these, mainly from his voice, very throwback vocals. Excelent.

There's three songs mitch murder has done featuring kristine in selection one and two, all just as good as Kristine's self titled album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf-kfYjFhmw

I like Dana Jean Phoenix but Le Cassette and Kristine just knock it out of the park. I want to see a duet happen before I die.

Knew Mitch Murder but didn't know about the songs featuring her, really good stuff. I'm going through her EPs and her full-length album on Spotify, some of her music reminds me of the 80s Hard Rock band Vixen.

How did I never know this thread existed until today!?

I'm actually setting cash aside to buy multiple versions of Uncanny Valley. I'm hoping the graphic novel is illustrated by Ariel ZB. Absolutely love that guys works.

Probably a bunch of ridiculous vinyl variations (pink/blue/yellow/etc splatter, glow in the dark, black), digipack cds, cassettes, posters. I go nuts over it too haha:

I just picked up I am the Night, I had forgotten how much I loved that one, got the Red/Blue version. £35 from Discogs. I have bought so many vinyls lately, this shit is costing me a bomb.

Will try to get Dangerous Days next, but have to really save the money for The Uncanny Valley, I don't want to miss out this time.

Also need the Carpenter Brut Trilogy... Desperately saving up £85 to get it... eventually.

graphic novel? Did I miss something?

From a press release published by Bloody Disgusting.
‘The Uncanny Valley’ will be released on vinyl (gatefold 2 x LP with printed inner sleeves and a special edition 3 x LP box set with 16-page graphic novel *more info to come*), CD (6 panel digipack or a 28-page 2-CD hardback graphic novel with silver foil stamped cover.) and digitally. Pre-order will be available early March.

I just stumbled in the right thread
I'm home.

I've been listening the past year to some already known artists such as Lazerhawk, PowerGlove, Mitch Murder, Kavinsky...

I'm in love with Lazerhawk for example, something in his tracks really catch me into the whole aesthetic.

Listening to Synth Love Affair Vol.1 as recommended on the previous page. What a wonderful night

I'm right with you on Lazerhawk. I lost interest in Kavinsky pretty quickly, just seems overproduced to me, not raw enough.

There's actually a massive thread of fans posting suggestions for the soundtrack on the community forum for Cyberpunk 2077, like 129 pages for a game due in who knows how many year's time massive. Some of the admins did say they listen to this genre, artists like Perturbator, but recently the composer for the Witcher 3 in an interview has said they've started some preliminary work. Source. I'm unfamiliar with his works so I don't really feel strongly about it but the consensus seems to have been good for the Witcher 3 so I'm not put off or anything either. I'm sure they'll have a radio though for our bangers to embrace the musical cyberpunk aesthetic at least a little bit.

I feel conflicted about this. I love the "cyberpunk" music we're getting, but I still wish the cyberpunk genre (as a whole) could kind of move on from 80s nostalgia. Focus on the themes, not the old aesthetics. No one will be using analogue synths in 2077. :p

I wish synthwave in general was less handcuffed to 80s aesthetics in album art, band names, etc. All that shit is just kitschy. I think what we're getting nowadays is fairly distinct from the actual music produced in the 80s and we should embrace that a bit more.

Not all synthwave has the 80s aesthetic, even though the "sound" of the entire genre definitely did spawn from 80's synthpop.

Scroll through my bandcamp purchases for example, 99% is synthwave but doesn't necessarily look like it at first glance: https://bandcamp.com/noisepurge

But like black metal for example, it's easier to reach your audience with cover art alone when it is instantly recognizable for a genre.

Is this a suitable thread to bring up Prefab Sprout?

My Airbnb host in London had the Two Wheels Good/Steve McQueen LP... Fell in love with it almost instantly. Incredible stuff. I definitely was not surprised to learn of its pedigree/veneration in the genre.

Similar recommendations?

Cheers, Gaf.

Perturbator “The Uncanny Valley – Bonus” EP [2016]

PRE-ORDER: early March, 2016.

RELEASE: May 6th, 2016.

ARTWORK: Ariel ZB

As an addendum to “The Uncanny Valley” main album, there will be a long-form epilogue that includes further ruminations on themes within the storyline. The bonus EP will be released alongside the main album and contains four brand new tracks and three alternate versions of Perturbator album tracks.

The first three songs complement the themes covered within “The Uncanny Valley,” and the final track - “VERS/US” - is a demo from “The Uncanny Valley” writing sessions that fits the mood and atmosphere of the album but didn't quite make it into the final cut.
The bonus EP runs approximately 40 minutes in length, bringing the total experience of “The Uncanny Valley” in its special edition form to almost two hours.

TRACK LIST:
1. Vile World
2. The Church
3. Consecration
4. Hard Wired [Instrumental]
5. Venger [Instrumental]
6. Future Club [Arcade Version]
7. VERS/US [Demo]
