80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Carpenter Brut performs with a band? Very cool

Only briefly watched some live footage (figured may as well not spoil the projections and such) but I was just expecting him to be a DJ or something.

I see GOST is basically a DJ but hey, that'll be fun regardless. Ticket was $8 so who even cares, I've been to basement shows that cost more

I got my The Finish Line set today.

Decent listen, LP1 is definitely a little too deep into 80's sound for my tastes, but LP2 has more of the modern synthwave sound.

How I feel waiting for Carpenter Brut to repress Trilogy on vinyl-

Without wanting to rub salt in the wound, managing to pick it up off of Amazon for £38 not too long ago has to be the luckiest thing to ever happen to me.
You deserve it though after getting fucked in the FEZ scenario!

The Drive 5th anniversary LP is up for pre-order
Ugliest color combo for one of my favorite scores? Doesn't matter, totally surprised and stoked! I've been eyeing the original presses for so long... Martinez is a god among mortals, his score for Solaris proves it. After reading how limited this release is I can't thank you enough for sharing the link! Sold for three months, numbered, only time pressed? Jeez Invada. Their treatment of the scores for Solaris and Ex Machina give me absolute faith however.

Edit: Further information gleaned from one of five articles written about the release:
Pre-orders will start on September 1 from Invada and the LP will be available in record stores worldwide from September 30 to December 31. Per Invada, “From January 1, 2017 this anniversary variant will be deleted and the original version will be made available again."
:D

If I wanted to start recording this style of music or any music for that matter, what materials would I need?

Any good websites you can recommend?

Some sort of music workstation

It also depends on whether you intend on writing with midi sequencing or if you want to actually write with a synthesizer/keyboard (in which case you would want a midi keyboard and compatible computer)

FL Studio is a popular, cheaper and solid entry-level audio workstation. Comes with a good amount of samples, you can pay for more or find custom ones people upload on forums. Drum machines are generally included with some decent samples to get you started

Before you buy anything just look up examples of people's work, tutorials, and try free trials if they're available

I loved their first album Constellations. Hopefully the new album is just as good.

ugh where's MAVS' Brigador Vol. 2? :(
From his Facebook:

_i sent out an email recently to the mailing list to let everyone know that the vinyl was taking longer than expected. our plan originally was to launch Vol 2 this weekend, but i didn't feel right doing another preorder when volume 1 hasn't shipped yet. as a peace offering, everyone is going to get a bonus EP of thirty minutes of unused music. Volume 1 is expected to ship in Sept.
Also, he's working on an entire vocal album with Jasmin Kaset.

And in case anybody needs a reminder as to why that is so hype:

Those dastardly astronauts turned Cosima into a robot!

Cool video though.

Jasmin is slowly becoming Dana Jean Phoenix wherein anytime I hear that they are lending vocals on a track, regardless of composer, I am immediately listening to it.

Orders for new Dynatron and Tommy 86 are up on Blood Music

Dyantron vinyl looks to be very limited!
Strangely no vinyl for Tommy 86 though =/

I asked about this on Twitter when the CD release was announced. The vinyl release depends on the sales of the release (digital + CD). Sooo, get it on bandcamp and make some noise when it's available. :)

Makes sense I guess, but I'm still surprised

Vinyl releases seem to be a forgone thing for most of Blood Music's releases after all =/

Heck, the even stranger one is that the new Dynatron is on vinyl but not CD!

EDIT: the new dynatron vinyl is already sold out, wow =/
