I know I'm late but I just listened to the Atlas Album for the first time. Had to buy it on iTunes after a full preview. Good stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSGnNMnvM6M

The highlights for me were:
1. Everything
5. Let's Talk
10. Jupiter <- This track is amazing.
11. Goodbye

Pengus, one of my favourite artists, has put together some of his earlier singles and put them into one album. Link is in the image.

I highly recommend it, definitely give Rootkit, Azimut and Hacker Fugitive a listen. To me it is actually a little frustrating that there's no "or more" option for payment since he's only asking $1 for this one.

EDIT

I asked him to add an "or more" option and he has, also when asked he said they may start work on TEK volume 2 this autumn :)

Atlus is a mixed album to me. The vocal tracks except for Running in the night are a little too cheesy for me. Get rid of those and the album is close to perfect in my opinion.

Any more word on the Stranger Things vinyl releases?
It was up on Amazon with a mid-October release date and a $25 price per volume, which has since been deleted.

I guess we just need to wait for details, but brace yourself for the worst (aka iam8bit).

Seeing as they (iam8bit) just release a 2xLP for $75, this isn't going to be pretty.

Le Matos - Join Us vinyl is being reissued for MondoCon.

I'm sending out panicked texts to my Austin friends about this. One of them has to be going.

Okay, so this is an exclusive variant at MondoCon (splatter vinyl, ew), that will be available on the evening of Le Matos' performance.

Nobody knows (or is saying) if there will be an open edition after that. I personally think it's a bit odd to run another pressing (through a different label, if I understand) just for a con exclusive, so I'm keeping positive. They've already said Chronicles of the Wasteland is getting a new pressing as well.

That said, I do have a friend that can probably get a friend to pick one up for me, worst case scenario.

My heart weeps, because I have to skip the Carpenter Brut show in Helsinki due to moving to a new apartment on the very same day. I have no heart to leave my girlfriend in the IKEA hell.

So if anyone from Finland wants to buy a ticket, pm me.

Echoing the sentiments of the new The Midnight album being excellent.

That's incredibly unfair.

'It's a great pleasure to reveal my latest release to you all:

Dynatron - "The Rigel Axiom" EP [2016]

Pre-order: early September, 2016
Release: November 4th, 2016

Serving as an epilogue to Dynatron's sophomore opus "Aeternus", "The Rigel Axiom" expands upon similar motifs – those of eternal space exploration, loneliness, and discovery. The EP experiments in mining the depths of dark ambient elements within Dynatron's universe, as it takes us on a measured journey to Rigel: the brightest star in the constellation Orion.

The 5-song, 25-minute EP will be one of Dynatron's first introductions to vinyl upon release. "The Rigel Axiom" will see its official 'release party' in one of Dynatron's first-ever live performances alongside Perturbator, Gost, and Tommy '86 in Helsinki on November 5th, 2016.

About Dynatron:

One of the early producers in the retrosynth scene, Denmark's Dynatron has been hailed as one of the most consistent composers in the genre for his pulsating and lofty atmospheres.

Releasing his first tracks in mid-2012 to great acclaim, he soon featured on Perturbator's "I Am the Night", as well as in the indie thriller film "Cold in July". Two albums and three EPs later, Dynatron is one of the most well-respected artists in the retro scene, composing darksynth from a completely different angle than Blood Music labelmates Perturbator, Gost, Dan Terminus, and Tommy '86.

Influenced heavily by more ethereal masters – such as Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis – Dynatron's sense of darkness isn't from the exploration of the human mind nor the pits of hell, but rather from the wonder and despair of eternal space exploration.

Track list:

1) The Tristar
2) Contact
3) Stones
4) Storms
5) The Unknown

Label: Blood Music'

I saw that earlier. I can make it to the Tulsa show if I want to burn a couple of (very precious at the moment) days of PTO.

Hmm, now that I think about, I could probably do it with a single day PTO, if I can leave a tiny bit early on that Monday.

I'm getting very close to booking this thing.

Anybody else near Dallas interested?

System:Denied is your name for now as a artist? I think you should keep it really fits the 80's synthwave and these 2 samples are made by you? I like them very much great use of synth and bass flow love the groove in it.

So listening to The Finish Line now, just got done with the '1989' record. The first two tracks weren't anything special (will give them another listen). Robert Parker's song though was really poor in my opinion, rather boring and doesn't go anywhere interesting. B side is a bit better, really like the Sebastian Gampl song, VHS Dream's song is decent too but nothing amazing.

Onto the 2417 record...

EDIT: All done now. Kind of disappointed to be honest. I only really liked the Waveshaper song, he's one of my favourites anyway. Overall only two or three songs I liked. I don't think itll be something I'll listen to a lot.

Ah, that's pretty disappointing to hear.

To be honest, I've never been a fan of Robert Parker. Most of his tunes sound a bit too repetitive.
Sebastian Gampl has quickly become one of my favourite synthwave artists, though. Great production and catchy melodies, he's definitely a master of this genre.
Waveshaper is also always excellent. VHS Dreams can be a bit hit and miss but he's made some pretty great tunes in the past.
How were the Plaisance and Phaserland tracks?
