Achieve Trophies | June 2012 Thread | Diabol Pls. Regards, Kaz and Don.

So my birthday presents to myself got sidetracked a little bit

Got my new 160GB PS3, a $50 PSN Card (Battlefield Premium), Mass Effect 3 (was for $30), then came the VITA goodies.
Got my Mod Nation Racers VITA for $2, but the Best Buy by me and a few others were out of stock on Unit 13/Resistance either or both. So my B2G1 New games valued up to $40 coupon was expiring, so I grabbed Gravity Rush + Army Corps of Hell + Rayman Origins as my freebee
Still have $50 cash left to do something with, might sit on it (not literally), and use it to grab Transformers Fall of Cybertron

Well I bit the bullet and on TA changed my settings to include "All DLC" in my score calculations, and not just DLC I own.

So i.e, my Black Ops score is now 950/1700, instead of 950/1000 (I never bought any of the DLC). I don't mind that at all honestly. The only reason I held off for so long is because the Modern Warfare 3 DLC is so stupidly overpriced and I have the original 1000/1000 in that game. And I don't think I ever plan to buy that putrid DLC.

So I lose one completed game - I'm down from 32 to 31, since MW3 is now 1000 out of... whatever weird number it is now, instead of 1000/1000. But, I get a new carrot. My overall completion percentage dropped from 91 point something to 89 point something. Should be fun bringing it back up to 90, and shouldn't be a big problem either, since I have Vanquish on file at 25/1000, and I will play that one eventually.

I still need to use YGC for the point values. I'm not sure how frequent PSProfiles updates now, but YGC is often faster for non-registered users. I like the options from PSProfiles more too.

I guess you guys and girls can add in too. How would you like your scores be represented?

I'm all for making your life easier. Which ever you pick I'll be good with.

Speaking of which though, is YGC down? The cards on the first page have not updated in a while now.

THey have been upgrading their site. It is just back today.
- The timeline is nice. An overview of which trophies you earned on which day.
- Rank progression: to show how you're going forward on the leaderboards.
- Statistics: Bit boring stuff compared to PSNProfiles.
- Game pages: no more statistics per game or per trophy making those completely useless compared to PSNProfiles.

Trine 2 = platy 10

What's the Plat. difficulty of Dragon's Dogma? Is it just very time consuming?
...and is Yourgamercards still offline?
EDIT: Wow, PSNProfiles' image fo VF5FS is much cooler than YGC's-

Yeah. Speak of the devil.

New site looks good, but the timeline stuff Playfire was doing it a long time ago.

Grinded the 100 matches 1943 trophy.
Ripped through Gunstar Heroes.
Played some Shatter, still need to master boss rush and bonus modes.

Playing freaking Revenge of the Wounded Dragons, did not finish it back in the day. And I remember why...

Can't say I really like the YGC revision, there's way too much wasted space on the sides and there doesn't seem to be a way to get straight to your profile from the front page. Oh and I've somehow got a game at 108%. I think I'll stick with PSNProfiles.

Huh I just noticed that YGC is back, loving the new look for the most part.
...but it won't show my Trophy progression for More than 3 months =/

Hey, would I be able to be added to the list for next month please? Kind of in an achievement-getting mood lately. Hopefully will be able to hit 30k sometime over summer. I have a stack of stuff to play thanks to GAME's "Spring cleaning sale" :P.

One of my goals for the summer is getting to lvl 50 in Max Payne, mostly by grinding Chapter 4 with some MP in between.

I guess I'll be needing a WARM CUP OF MILK AND A BLOWJOB !

I don't quite get the banner in the first post, does it have to do with how Diablo 3 is getting a console release?

Trophy Synching to new PS3 is such a fucking chore ; ;

Sweet Jesus move you fucking progress bar, my Virtual Data isn't GB's in nature

Did Data Utility Transfer last night from 120GB > to new 160GB PS3

First time it froze @75%, stayed there for a few hours, called Sony up, they said restart the process... 4.5 hours wasted

Start process again, look online for other situations, most said just let it go, it will start up again

Started @10PM last night, didn't finish till 5:30AM today... was a fuck-ton of content I mean 105+ GB worth of data to transfer over

Bought Battlefield Premium (^_^)v by the way to Bless my new PS3!... my 3rd new PS3 bought, if refurbs and YLOD's it's my 7th... Fuck I'm to loyal to Sony
They should give me 2 free 1st party titles every year as compensation fro being this fucking loyal =/

Got Mass Effect 3, even though I still haven't finished or got into 2... LOL

Trophy syncing a kind of a clusterfuck. Syncing on a brand new PS3 just shows how bad it can get. It took forever to sync my second PS3 so I can only imagine how bad it is for level 20-30.

I heard it's better on Vita though, I will be getting one next week so I can see for myself. I'm thinking about PvZ and Uncharted, then Gravity Rush after I finish Uncharted.

Welp my second PS3 went out on me and I'm not bothering with another one until The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIV are out. So I guess it's time to focus on achievements. Oh well, makes things easier on me I guess. I miss having it but 360's fine and satisfies my gaming needs just fine for now.

God Speed on Plants vs Zombies, that Lucky Spin trophy, just go back a page or two to see my situation regarding it
Some 15-30 minutes... me 86 fucking hours...

Uncharted is good, until you trophy hunt for those Bounty Drops, yeah game pisses off even the simplest minded gamers, grindy as fuck, luckily you can boost with a friend or two to get collections

Gravity Rush looks like everyone who has a VITA is buying it left and right and Platinuming it, meaning playing it all the way through and not just doing the basics
Gonna start on it this week hopefully

Started Trophy Synching @11AM EST, now it's 12:40PM, 1 hour and 40 minutes, I just passed the 55% mark... 45% to go... HOORAY!

By the way Army Corps of Hell is fucking addicting, small maps, cool bosses, gonna keep "Bloodlust" genre satiated until Soul Sacrifice/God of War Ascension
Heavy Metal is a little out there, but holy hell if it isn't fun sending 80+ minions with butcher cleavers to kill a Hell boss by stabbing him in the knee to make him fall to the ground and chopping it's tail off for materials/items and making better weapons/items out of them, LOL

Grindy ass game by the looks of it, Platinum will be an investment... close to 60+ hours, countless playthroughs/drops

Turn 32 on Thursday, Old Gamer is Old =/

Haven't done a ton of whoring this month. Might take a break for the rest of the month and come back refreshed in July :)

I hit level 40 in Max Payne 3. 10 more levels of grinding Ch 4 to go. The unlocks for multiplayer are so bad. Why do you unlock all these awesome weapons an 40 and nothing from 20-40 except outfits/boosts? The 5k requirement for Hardcore playlists also needs to be cut at least by half but probably more.

Went back to Rayman Origins after the wife eventually gave up on our co-op playthrough, and got myself 6 more trophies (2 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze) while finishing up the main game and sorting a few loose ends. I have yet to attempt that final level, I need a chunk of time set aside for that... I'm making slow progress, but I should make level 16 before the end of the year (at 15+87% now), hopefully with 100 Gold. I'd like my completion level at 70%, but some games aren't helping and I still have WipeOut HD+Fury, MGS HD Collection, Dead Space 2 + Extraction and El Shaddai (along with Sonic Generations) sitting unplayed in the wings! You may have gathered that I don't choose my games for their trophies, even though I like to go after some...

Re: YGC/PSNProfiles, I like both but find myself using the latter:

Working on Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. A lot more fun than I thought it was going to be.

I was going to try to do Splinter Cell: Conviction on the 360 but there are way to many multiplayer achievements.

Got 100% in Monster World IV, finally. First time I played the game I figured out everything on my own other than collecting all the magical drops. I only missed a handful on my own so I resorted to a guide and finished up my last playthrough last night. It's a shame practically all of the magical drops are missable. I still can't believe I missed out on these Wonder Boy games. MVIV was WAY TOO good.

Read up on the different endings before you start making any of the major story decisions. Using different saves you can get all endings without starting over. I played the hardcore mode seperate and using a guide finished it in 2-3 hours.

I glossed over the bolded the first time I read your post, but now I know that this is awesome. I stumbled onto a guide at TA that tells you how to do it in just 2 hours. Friggin awesome!

I just left Doc Mitchell's place (so I've barely played anything). Looks like this will be a fun and easy completion. I just have to watch out for the Ring A Ding quest (which is where the endings branch off) and make saves there! I'll do all the DLC and as many side quests as possible before Ring A Ding as well - making myself stronger and better equipped for alternate ending speed runs once I'm done my first proper playthrough.

Completed Lollipop Chainsaw over the weekend for my 141st 100% Completed game. Such a wild and crazy game, the music was the best part of the game!

Sounds like your bags are packed and your ready to go. Have fun in the wasteland. Send us a postcard. lol

It sounds like the DLC helps with the main game? I have FO:NV w/o any of the DLC and have been been tempted to play it, but not sure if I should wait until either the DLC goes on sale or I can pick up the ultimate edition on the cheap to enhance the experience.

Only reason why I don't really have 100% is due to me downloading worms a million years ago. Wish you could remove empty games from the list. Otherwise only missing deus ex dlc and chime super deluxe co-op trophy (forever alone)

I just finished the last DLC mission and it depends on your level. Too low and you'll probably get destroyed (especially in the last one, with all the Deathclaws running around). But if you are a decent level, it'll definitely help out. There are some pretty fantastic weapons you can get through them.

If you want to cheat a bit, first start the game without any of the patches and do the exp exploit within Helios One. That'll get you to level 30, at which point you can download the patches and DLC. The DLC will then raise the level cap to 50 and you can just level up normally from there (it won't take long, I got from 30 to 50 before I'd even finished all the DLC).

Finally, a trophy card:

June Progress:

  • Dragon's Dogma- 1000/1000
  • Dead Rising 2- 900/1000
  • Resident Evil 5- 1000/1000
  • Call of Doody: MW3- .../1000

Finished up Resident Evil 5 again. Finally got back into my groove with it. Chapter select makes this a joy to get chievos for. Being able to tackle the annoying sections on Professional first is great. Although I was ready to choke Sheva during the
Wesker and Jill
fight. Decided to ruin my vacation week by wrapping it up playing MW3. One of the worst games I've played this gen. Just awful. So tired of shitty turret sections. I let this thing scar my profile when I played co-op with my nephew last Christmas. Damn my OCD for wanting to get it to 800+ GS. Started on Vet to make it last as quick as possible.

Thanks for the tips, I may start it when I finish up Culdcept Saga. Although my kids just got me Diablo 3 for father's day so I can play with them so my 360 gaming may go down a lot in the near future:)

How can I join this? I want to get down with this. It seem fun to compete against my peers.

Post your Trophy or Achievement card, start talking about the games you're playing. :)

I believe you have to actively set that.
.
I think it is automatic, now you just have the option to hide them as well. PSN P used to show my 0% games, but my completed percentage was 20% higher than on YGC. Only explanation I could see was that they never counted 0% games.

Even though it's been a slow month for trophies, I always find myself looking at my collection. I just love seeing what I accomplished, and when, it's like a diary of the last few years of gaming. So, I was wondering, what platinums and/or 1000/1000s are you most proud of?
For me, it has to be Gran Turismo 5, I spent an ungodly amount of time in that game, and I still come back for the GAF league races. F1 2010 is another good one, Nifty 50 was my worst enemy for over a year, haha.

This is why achievements are so amazing to me. Love this gen. Online, DLC, XBLA/PSN, a massive library of awesome games, but the neatest thing is you get a list that documents it all in a convenient way (achievements/trophies). Anyhow, I guess I'm most proud of 1500 in Arkham City. There was a lot of rage and perserverance trying to beat the campaigns four times (Batman, Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin).

A cool feature on TA is the ability to put a trophy case on your homepage: single achievements or game completions that you like the most.

Well fuck me, for whatever reason I'm just not in the mood for New Vegas. I'm gonna buy Lollipop Chainsaw tomorrow and probably just go through both for a little variety. Now that I think about it, it's been a long time since I played through two games at once. For the longest time I've chosen a game, and played it exclusively until I either completed it or reached whatever GS/achievement goal I was going for, without touching anything else.

Heh, I went through my timestamps for Fallout 3, and:

May 8, 2011: Got the pip-boy

and then nothing for more than two months, until

July 11th, 2011: Took the GOAT

And I felt the same way on that May 8th about Fallout 3 as I do now about New Vegas: ugh, just not in the mood for this game - I know I should be in love with this kind of open world RPG, but I can't get into this. Then two months later something clicks and I invest 100 hours into the game.

Skate 2 & The Bigs 2. Especially The Bigs 2, god knows how long I tried to get that online working...

I'd say RUSE or Battlefield 2:MC. I'm still working on F1 2010, getting near two years since since its release. I think I am at 600,000XP, it is slow going, that's for sure. I'm glad they toned down the online achievements for F1 2011.

I just platinumed Max Payne 3 and what a great game. New York Minute Hardcore was alot of fun and definitely not as hard as alot of people online are making it out to be. Its still definitely a challenge and it still took me about 6 or 7 trys at it. The worst was dying at the very last boss on my run before beating it. As far as my proudest platinum, right now I would say it is Max Payne 3. Playing through the whole game without dying is one of the best things I've done in any game. Second to that would be Dead Space 2, with having to beat the game with 3 lives. I love a good challenge like that and always prefer them to any grinding trophies/achievements.

Congrats. I'm on level 46 in multiplayer and just need to hit 50 for my platinum. So glad you can grind Ch 4 because the multiplayer is actually starting to get on my nerves.

Yeah, you're telling me! I worked on multiplayer gang wars til about level 27 before I read about the trick to grind Ch 4. After that I just grinded that til I hit 49 and Finished it off in multiplayer to make sure it didn't glitch on me. Seems alot of people have been trying to do the Ch 4 grind without being signed in and when they hit 50, the trophy doesn't pop. I made sure not to make that same mistake.

You just need to get into a MP match and it should pop then I read somewhere. I'm not going to risk it.

Also congrats, you deserve that warm cup of milk.
