Adventures of Mana |OT| The Final Fantasy Adventure returns to Mobile and Vita

Wait, do you mean to tell me you've never selected anything but Sage? Why would you do that? Sage doesn't even increase your strength at all. That's by far the worst thing to put points toward. All that does is increase your power gauge, which you never even really need to use except for a few bosses. That's like you haven't even been increasing levels.

My stats after the airship
Level:21. Hp: 81: MP: 15 Vit 25, Str 29, Int 11, Mind 23

Alternating between Warrior and Mage is the best way to level in this game imho. It gives you two points in every stat for every two levels and going down the jack of all trades route is definitely more recommended than specializing. You can probably skip a few Int increases in favor of more Str and Vit, because they're the two most important stats and you probably don't need that many MPs.

Focusing on boosting the Mind stat is indeed unnecessary, as each of the four level up options gives you at least one point in Mind anyway. Thus, there's no chance that your Mind stat won't be high enough at that point in the game where you might need some of the special attacks to effectively fight certain bosses.

I wish I ran into enemies that required 10+ hits. Was it always this easy? Major bosses die in seconds before I'm even able to enjoy the awesome major boss music.

Also the Wind Spear is a worthless shit weapon. Stick with the MIthril Sword.
It's because the first time I played FFA as a child, I only picked Will. But the weapons were better back then.

The iOS verison updated a couple days ago with the ability to now switch the music to the original Gameboy music. Nice.

I got to the last level
Temple of Mana
, but how do i get further? The thing is that i used up all my keys and then i backtracked to make sure that i hadnt missed anything. Now i'm stuck at the begining of that area with zero keys and there is no way to backtrack to any shops. There are only one
teleporter
in the first area that leads to a room, but i cant do anything in that room as far as i know, i can only go back to where i came from. Is this a game design that breaks the game?

EDIT: Ended up downloading the backup save from PS+. Luckily i had followed a bit of walkthrough at the end there, otherwise i might had been stuck at that place and had to restart the whole game (unless i'm missing something). That would be really annoying.

I have been thoroughly enjoying the Vita version of the game. The game feels like a cross-over between early Zelda's and some later Golden Sun overworld interaction elements. The game is fairly linear, and you can still find interesting locations left and right from your path. The music is also great, and using different weapons against different enemies just works so much better with the quickslots.

I am just not sure about the graphics, while they remade it in 3D, I can not see a lot of love for detail and artdesign either. The Mana games always had this gorgeous magical touch, and it's completely lost here - Swords of Mana wasn't great, but I liked its artdesign much better. Also I feel like running out of keys in the middle of the dungeon could have been adressed a little better and with a more 'modern' solution so to speak.

I still had a very good time with it, espacially given that I noticed a smile on my lips seeing the ring menu (and the subsequent tone we all know from Secret of Mana!), and all those boss fights that reminded me both of the original Mystic Quest and some of Secret of Mana's bosses.

I know you already worked it out, but there are always enemies in dungeons like that that drop keys if you farm a bit.

I finally got around to buying this, I think it's half price from what I remember at launch.

I never played the original game known as Final Fantasy Adventure, I'm surprised that none of the Squaresoft games are on the Gameboy Virtual Console on 3DS.

Anyway, I'm liking it so far. It's like the NES Legend of Zelda in playstyle with RPG mechanics.

The only difference is that with it being a remake I really got into it from the music of the Overworld theme: https://youtu.be/K8jHkgzQbEc

It reminds me of when I played Ys I on Steam and I got into it from the first field theme there: https://youtu.be/4CKQqDMusIo
