Aldnoah Zero Season 2 |OT| Inaho or Out, It's All The Slaine

Episode 10

Something finally good happens to Slaine. His very own Kat! Yay!

Theyre a little too sympathetic to Rayet but she will probably come through in the clutch sometime in the series. I also dont think the Princess looks at Inaho in a romantic manner, so Slaine still has a chance.

Dat ending music always gets me hyped. I wanna see some awesome fights next week.

Episode 10 Spoilers:

Did anyone else wonder how the Earth Headquarters had already outfitted that abandoned nuclear missile silo for the flying Vers Battleship lol. They acted so surprised when they saw it for the first time while allowing them to land there but they had already set up a perfect landing pad with walkways for the Battleship. How the fuck would any of their normal ships get down there lol without water.
Amazing episode all around! This show does not let up for a minute, even when the title of the ep sounds like a filler lol.
Actually giving the bad guy a noble reason to fight although now im wondering why he even wants to go after the princess when its the King he should be attacking on Mars and then he would have his revenge and could also still establish relations with earth to get his damn water and air lol.

Inaho wouldnt tap that even if she did lol, I love his careface whenever shes trying to thank him.

The biggest reason should be:
She's moe girl so it's ok

Ep 10

I like this show, I really really do, but this episode was garbage. Started off with
predictable backpedaling
, characters acting out of character (
Old Inaho from eps 1-9 would have put a bullet in Rayet himself, instead his doppelganger from ep 10 saved her life while delivering a speech straight out of Gundam
), then the second half proceeded to deliver some heavy-handed exposition (
I love how Saazbaum conveniently stores a video/slideshow of recent Vers history and his fiancee getting hit by a meteor
) and finished off with yet another (
probably pointless again
) cliffhanger. It's probably my own fault though for setting my expectations too high after the previous episode.

Fuck off, Rayet, you deserve to be shot in the face.

Some great logic there, Inaho. It's a shame you didn't apply it to Slaine when he saved your collective asses just a few episodes ago, only for you to shoot him down and get him captured and tortured.

Saazbaum and Slaine are the only ones that are capable of saving this entire show from medicority.

That's an awesome new mech Slaine got by the way, though I probably would have preferred it if he piloted a regular ship. He still might if Inaho gets his hand on his Kat.

Keeping her alive is pretty easily explained using just simple logic. Rayet used a necklace to choke out the princess, a necklace which she immediately let go of once the princess lost consciousness. The main reason choking causes death is because they end up severing the spinal cord, but a necklace isn't going to do that. Right now the princess is either unconscious, now breathing because the necklace was let go, or worst case scenario, her heart stopped which gives her 6 minutes before brain damage kicks in. More than enough time for someone to realize something happened to the princess (already happened since the damned ship fell out of the sky), Eddelrittuo to run to the shower with Inaho following her and Inaho (or really any character) performing CRP while the doctor is called to help.

Of course, that's only if they want to follow along what should happen. If they really want her dead, they will ignore almost all of that.

I personally think they'll keep her alive, mainly because they put a big focus on the Princess seeing and knowing it was Rayet choking her. They wouldn't have done that unless It was going to come up later as a conflict item between Rayet vs everyone after the princess tells.

I called it! I fucking called it. Thats like the first time I've ever gotten as close as I did in a prediction.
To be fair, my last line was a little off in how they were going to deal with Rayet, but I got the princess resurrection scene 100% right.

I do wonder what Slaine will end up doing now that he's seen both perspectives... Though he'll probably go down to earth in Lord Cruhteo Kat to try and help the princess, though this time I can see him actually talking to Inaho and joining his side.

I'm glad they got all the bullshit out of the way right at the start of the episode. Inaho actually did something I liked for once!
No I'm not talking about saving the princess, I'm talking about him grabbing the gun from Rayet because that animation cut was really cool! Lol!
I like how they're developing the climax for the first half the series. It's fairly predictable, but not in a bad way. No awful vocal abuse from Sawano this week either, so we should all be thankful. Saazbaum's arrogance is totally going to be his undoing. Poor bastard. :)

YEEESSS, that was my exact thought in that moment.
At first i thought these would be for their big russian Antonow planes, but the landing pad was too big compared to the Battleship.

Nevertheless good episode. Nice to see the motives behind Saazbaums actions. But he should just aim his hate towards the Vers King and not Earth...

The stuff with Rayet is pretty true to heightened anime reality, but I'm kinda sick of scenes like that. Same with Saazbaum's expositionary pity slideshow he shows Slaine. It's not a hatred of monologues per se, but more the way they go unchallenged by people around them. Maybe this is just what I have to admit I'm in for at this point.

Besides that, though, I like the way the plot is escalating to this big confrontation. There's even a roadmap laid out in this episode for the next half of the show,
dealing with the moon base stopping Asseylum's message
. Since I just want to see explosions and things happening to characters, I'm a happy person.

Bring on the war!

Rayet had superglue on her towel. Stayed in tact no matter what lol

He still wants to take over earth because the dude wants water and air and birds. He made it very clear that Vers is a shithole.

Yes I'm sure, lol. They took out a huge ad in a Japanese newspaper before it aired. That was one of the things specifically stated.

I'm inclined to believe you though I can't read Japanese. MAL and ANN both still state 12 episodes though for some reason, and the wikipedia entry states 24 just like you said, with the second half resuming some time in 2015, however it cites this crunchyroll list that cites a Japanese blog, which got its information from a South Korean network that broadcasts anime.

Not sure how reliable that is. Would like for the continuation in 2015 to be true though.

I really don't understand Inaho.

So he disarms Rayet, gives her back the gun and says he believes that they are allies despite all of this.
But he shoots down Slaine for little to no reason despite just fighting with him because...?

Makes no sense. I just chalk it up to Urobutcher doing his usual thing.

MAL and ANN are never accurate sources of the length of a series while they're still running. They're mostly user input, just like imdb. :p

Aldnoah is confirmed as a split-season series along with Fate/Stay Night. They share the same Saturday timeslot which Aniplex uses for their biggest shows. Summer 2014 = Aldnoah S1, Fall 2014 = F/SN S1, Winter 2015 = Aldnoah S2, Spring 2015 = F/SN S2. :)

Inaho solo'd CPR and the disarmament of Rayet. Never change. -_-

If you're going to make a cliffhanger of it, make it fucking stick.
Outside of the terrible anime logic in the first five minutes, it was a decent enough setup episode. More back story on Vers is always welcome. The rise of feudalism in the space of 40 years is still laughable though but I've learned to roll with it by now. Now watch Seylum's father (?) being brought from time space vacuum as the second cour's villain. Sauzbaum's motives puzzle me, he seems to detest the first invasion and the feelings racial superiority among Versians but his revenge plan includes murdering of billions of people on Earth ? Surely there are more efficient ways of getting back at emperor and his family. As of now he's just realizing the dream of the man he hates.

The differences between Terrans and Martians in this show remind me of Vektans and Helghans from the Killzone franchise, and that's not a good thing.

The weirdest thing about Saazbaum telling all this to Slaine is he seems to think that this will somehow gain Slaine's sympathy.

"Fifteen years ago, we were lead into war based on lies. Because of this, the woman I love was killed.

"So I've deciced to start a war based on a lie, and kill the woman you love. I hope you take this mech and join me."

hipbabboom

Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(
The main villain is really interesting. He comes of amoral but that's only because, I, the viewer empathize with the idea that human life has meaning. He really doesn't have that view even in the slightest. He also seems to believe that he's the victim even through his own actions. He literally claims no responsibility for anything. It's easy to confuse his initiative to gain earth as a sense of responsibility but it more of an intent.

Aureon

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Saazbaum is interesting.

Kind of bummed they faked out of Seylum dying \ SOMETHING.
At least, Inaho handled the whole thing decently. No melodrama.

gunpoint scene looked kinda funny. You have the shot where Rayet just steps back slowly with reluctant look on her face and zombie like princess just comes forward. Looked weird lol.

Would they get rid of Saazbaum this early? He looks like he's going to his end but what do to after that? I fear they introduce some other faction or something else out of nowhere to change the situation drastically.

Rayet failed, the show is back to mediocre. Saazbaum's story is very lame, must be martian tradition to explain their tragic backstory with powerpoint presentation.

Poor Slaine@episode 7

this is fucking stupid. fuck this show.
I could deal with the princess surviving since she clearly wasn't choked to death in the last episode. I could even (sort of)deal with every non-Inaho character being staggeringly, aggressively stupid.
But this is a bridge too far. This is just too stupid.

Glad that the princess lives, favorite character in the show.

Yeap, the spirit of Nia lives within her.

Also Inaho showed some emotion this episode when he thought the princess was dead! He then proceeds to be OP for the rest of the episode.

I think he actually managed to make a joke while disarming Rayet.

I was surprised there wasn't any conflict with the higher ups bringing in the Princess right into their Headquarters. I thought they'd take the chance to exploit her in regards to Aldnoah/take her hostage or something like that.

yes, lol, the best part -
"we use ancient tech to destroy earth. ancient tech kills my wife. must avenge her by destroying earth."
uuh, ok.

because Slaine doesn't have tits, obviously.

..well, no. in that scene Slaine attacks Inaho first, he misses him (even if it was impossibile to actually miss him de3rp) and then Inaho shoots Slaine down. Inaho'ed.
Slaine thought that they were using the princess against her will, Inaho thought that Slaine wanted to
rape
kill her or something. iirc, it was Slaine being dumb since he didn't answer and just tried to shoot him down first.

in any case, yeah, stupid scenes with Rayet are stupid.

Glad that the princess lives, favorite character in the show.
she doesn't have much competition.

They did the most predictable thing and confirmed that what happened last week was for shock value and little else. Whoever said that he'd give her mouth to mouth to mirror what happened between Slaine and Hime-sama was right on the cheesy money.

I'm taking bets on whether or not the landing castle will actually hit that blast door directly and wipe them all out in one go, or whether it will conveniently land off to the side a bit.

It's going to miss somehow. They've got a laser lock on her position and somehow the huge castle won't just plow right into it.

I think they said it's the better part of a kilometer under terrain?

They also said its built to withstand nuclear strikes. So I guess LC's should be fine.

Why spare Racket and not Slain?

Because Rayet isnt a love rival. But also cause he knew she was gonna be taken into custody anyways. Slaine also IIRC fired at Inaho first. But yeah she was oddly soft on her.

I feel like this will be a main focus in the second half. The United Earth guys fighting each other to manipulate the princess. So its infighting between Terrans and Martians while they also fight each other.

The landing castle seems pretty large and it's powered by space magic. A direct hit on the door should send the castle right through no problem, though it would get stuck sooner or later (unless, again, space magic prevented that).

I was mostly joking :p

Yeah, but that would rob of us of a climactic battle in which Lt. PTSD finally makes The Brave Deed and Yuki and/or Inko die a horrible death at the hands of Saazbaum and/or (accidentally) Slaine.

I think that the princess lives because the writers had no idea how to continue if she actually died.

Stranded in a tundra without communications setting out for the base via kataphrakts to help save the rest of them later. Would've been interesting but the princess is too heavily integrated into the plot for them to even consider it. Didn't care for Rayet's speech of repent either.
