Am I the only one that thinks Days Gone looks absolutely awesome?

I don't really know why Bend went with zombies as a theme unless there is some yet-to-be-revealed tie-in with the Last of Us universe, but that aside.. This game looks absolutely fucking sick imo.

I feel like people are sleeping on it purely because it's easy to dismiss as "just another zombie game", but the announcement trailer was actually one of the best game trailers I've seen in years: the graphics were great, the editing was very professional which bodes well for in game editing, the writing was good, the voice acting was top notch and the general vibe was of some themes you rarely explore in video games - longing for the past, mourning, lost love etc.

Purely from a gameplay perspective we play a bounty hunting former biker... In an open world... Driving our bike through valleys and forests... Slaughtering packs of World War Z style zombies piling over one another... Am I missing something? This sounds fucking awesome.

No idea when it's expected to release but Days Gone is definitely gonna be a big hitter imo, I expect great things.

I also got a vibe from the trailers that it's going to be better than expected. The long gameplay walk through they posted after the trailer was a lot more compelling.

Nah, it looks visually gorgeous and if the plot is interesting the game has potential to be really nice.

It looks great and I am not sure why people reacted to poorly to it. It seems to have plenty of twists to the existing zombie game formulas and what they showed looked like a quality product.

Yes. You're absolutely the only one on the planet ever. Nobody has EVER looked at it and thought it looks amazing.

No, you're not. I know someone who is pretty excited for it. I don't know why though. To me the game looks so generic and the only thing going for it is the animation of the zombie horde.

Looks great but how will the gameplay be? I like the hoard idea but if not implemented right the game could just be a boring run from mob event. Here's hoping they nail the gameplay loop and story.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Same with Horizon.

Can we stop with the "You're never the only one !!1!"? It's just shitposting.

It looks like every single zombie trope crammed into a game. Looks really generic and meh to me. I'll still give it a try but expectations are as low as they can be.

Yeah it does look really cool.
Showed my sister the alternate E3 gameplay video the other day and was reminded how I'm looking forward to see more of it.

I'm guessing this E3 should give us a good chunk of gameplay and hands on impressions.

I'm looking forward to seeing more and getting the chance to play it. Hopefully there will be another gameplay demo at E3 this year with a more in-depth showing going over some of the systems which will hopefully give the game a bit of depth. Most of all, I really hope they nail the handling and I'm looking forward to taking that hog around the open world.

It's a gorgeous game that's for sure... but I can't say I'm really interested in it yet. They haven't shown me anything that makes the gameplay look fun and interesting.

Everything just seems super generic

Meh, its okay...it looks like a single player third person L4D with better graphics

It looks good, the theme just seems familiar.

*waits for the "am I the only who thinks GTA4 deserved the reviews it received?" thread*

It has a lot of potential.

The great visuals aside, the gameplay is what really stood out. I like how they played through the same areas and things turned out very different each time.

Game looks nice. The main guy doesn't get me excited for the game though.

Generic? Find me something like it? I'll wait.

It looks great but we haven't seen nothing yet. We know about the basic on-foot mechanics and we know it's pretty.

It had me until they showed zombies/freakers or whatever. I would have been way more excited if it was a game based around people, and bike gangs, etc.

I felt this way about The Last of Us too. A post-apocalyptic setting where people are just trying to survive, conflict occurs - it sounded so awesome! But then - zombies.

Meh.

Looked interested thanks to the trailer.
The E3 gameplay vid turned me away from it instantly: zombies (meh), crafting, poor-looking combat. But mostly the zombies, don't have any interest for zombie games.

Graphically it looks nice but then that's about what i'd say from all AAA games so it is kinda meaningless sentiment.

Basically this.

It felt like a very cinematic State of Decay, with the crowds of zombies added-in. It could be very fun! You're definitely not the only one...

I think it could have potential, we need to see more, I think the next demo of the game will impress more, assuming it incorporates some of the stuff they said was in the game that wasn't in the E3 demo.

Please no more shit AI for demo purposes, I hate that.

I think it looks super promising. Just need to see more about what he gameplay is like, how story driven it is (and if the story and characters are compelling) etc. I'll be less interested, for instance, if it ends up just being more a survival game or action game without much plot or character development.

I like the stuff bend has talked about and I think people would be more interested in the game if they showed some of those points in the first trailer.

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.
It use UE4. If Sony first party game use UE4, people would not feel excited

There should be more tampons in gaming
The game does look great. I feel like people were attacking the game because it apparently didn't have novel gameplay ideas and more exacerbating, it wasn't The Last of Us 2. Judged on its own merit, the game looks great visually while being open world and having what appears to be a significant focus on narrative. The crowd based gameplay looks good, I just want the guns to pack a little more punch.

Looks really good and polished. I expect big things from bend.

Fingers crossed for them cause Sony's got a big ol' axe and they don't give a flying....

I have to disagree, OP. It was poorly debuted at E3 I thought. The zombie horde thing they had going on was pretty cool but otherwise it looked like just another post apocalyptic shoot a thon.

Bounty-hunting bikers in a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic open world sounds pretty frickin' sweet to me.

While its kinda derivative as whole, the elements seem more appealingly balanced than most of its type.
