Am I the only one that thinks Days Gone looks absolutely awesome?

Not digging the protagonist but I haven't played a zombie game since Dying Light so I'm not feeling the fatigue, if it looks good I'll buy it at some point.

Watched the gameplay trailer. I would have died a hundred times during that sequence. Whoever was playing definitely knew exactly what to do.

Otherwise, it looks interesting.

so tired of zombies. the world looks cool but the premise is so cliché at this point.

something Alan Wake style, with enemies that aren't zombies but are still freaky would be more interesting TBH.
I remember when concept art of the VR game Scorn leaked and people thought it would be Bend's game since the rumor at the time was open world horror. It would've been cool to see a AAA Gigeresque open world horror game like that set in a mysterious alien world with Bend's technology.

Well, about the Pro I have no idea but not everyone own a Pro anyway. But then from what I've seen from a gameplay perspective, the player run away, shoot, run away, shoot....

I just hope it's not a full priced game!

What?
Game obviously is AAA production why would it be not full price ?
Plus whats that of "run and shoot"? Gears, Halo, BF, Uncharted, Doom or every other FPS/TPS is "run and shoot"...
If we start to see games like these than Mario is run and jump, Gears is shoot and run, God of War is hit and run.

NeoGaf loves to bicker about this.

It's just a simple, normal, expression.

I can't help but imagine that the kinds of people who enjoy taking normal turns of phrase literally, despite knowing exactly what they mean, and giving snide responses must be an absolute nightmare in real life. Big personality red flag.

Initial impression was it looked like a Last of Us rip off and I'm not into the biker culture or look of the characters. The game itself looks fun but I think Last of Us 2 stole its thunder.

Out of all the exclusives coming in 2017 and beyond, Days Gone is my most wanted. Zombies with a Sons of Anarchy feel? Hell yeah!!! Hoping for the game to be released this year but more realistically, I think that it comes out in 2018.

It looks beautiful, but I need to know more to be sold.

The Last of Us is more post-apocalyptic than zombie. It's pretty much The Walking Dead meets The Road. You spend most of the time hiding, sneaking around, collecting resources and fighting humans.

Daysgone shares a world where humans have lost their dominance (maybe, we don't actually know much about it), but it's obviously much more action-oriented than TLOU. Those zombies moving like a uniform mass aren't approachable in a stealth way, even though there's no proof that's the only way they'll move around. Having to use the surrounding to stop the horde is pretty cool, but I'm afraid it might be boring in the long run.

Nonetheless it looks really promising. I can expect a bunch of new info by E3 2017 and maybe, MAYBE a late 2017/early 2018 release.

The idea behind this game is that it's not scripted - at least the general movements aren't. Environments are meant to be littered with interactive objects and buildings that you can engage with. The building interiors are considered "rest points" where, even if you're still being attacked, the zombies will be thinned into a smaller stream so you can manage them.

Imagine you can run around unscripted but there are a hundred little scripted interactions around the environment. They can be chained together to create your escape.

That sounds pretty great. It seemed like the zombie hoard thinned out during sections where the player was in a building. I like what they are going for. I will keep my eye out for this game

Nope. I was pretty blown away as I want an open world Last of Us but this is way better because now I get the best of both worlds, a focused TLOU2 and and an open world game with the same type of world. I can't fucking wait!

I'm sure other people think the game looks awesome, though I question how much of that is the presentation/production values.

To me it just look like alot of money spent on a rote idea they've yet to show me is bringing anything new to the table, much less their execution being as good as other titles that have done the zombie horde thing before. Maybe they'll have more to show that makes it something unique, but so far looks like one of Sony's weakest exclusives.

Horizon on the other hand is the polar opposite open-world game, with a world that looks on its face unique, and I can pick it out among a line-up of other games. Instead of zombie hordes you blow away, I get large creatures that you have to use traps, traversal, and even their own body against them.

It most definitely has potential, but I'm still waiting on that "hook" that'll differentiate it from the countless other zombie and post-apocalyptic games that are out currently. The little footage they've shown hasn't exactly sold me on their vision yet, as watching a relatively generic-looking dude mindlessly shoot at large zombie hordes, while technically impressive, just isn't enough.

This and Horizon are the only console exclusives I'm interested in right now (and obviously TLoU2 which will be an orgasmic experience), I think it looks really great.

Come to think of it, I really hope they have some meaningful RPG elements in this. Settlements (safe zones) with a lot of NPCs, optional sidequests, trading and crafting, encounters you can stumble upon in the world, places of interest... Take some cues from The Witcher 3. Guerilla sure is with Horizon Zero Dawn.
