If I view my order through the Amazon app, it now includes the text "We'll email you when available." None of my PS5 accessories have that tag, just the console. It's worth noting the text is only seen when I view my order on the Amazon app and not on the website itself.

I did indeed. 2 hours after my work colleague who also ordered from Amazon on a totally different van, of course - who needs logistical efficiency.

There's probably also an element of over-ordering, a bit like airplane tickets. They know people will cancel over time/not turn up to the airport.

This is where physical Retail stores still matter. I Physically went to my local gamestop and preordered instore. I will pick it up at launch, not as convenient as online shopping, but still more reliable.
