A password protected Google docs sheet? How exactly did people find the spreadsheet? Are email tags easily exploited? Did someone from GAF post it publicly?

A Gaffer already achieved something similar by giving Sequence Steam key to everyone posted on a specific thread. I believe they used a bot for it. But this would be too much work for too little. Maybe Google Forms can be used for this.

I said it from the jump that Google doc would be bad news as everyone can get a hold of it. The quote feature is much better even if some idiot here might still take advantage of it.

How would using the e-mail tag feature be any better? All it would take would be for that one guy to copy all of them and dump it on Reddit.

Yeah, I can't figure out a truly secure way of doing it. The best would be some sort of generator that you enter a password into and it gives one key per IP address until all the keys are gone, but then the password could still get leaked, and it would be a pain to create in the first place.

I took a look at the document at one point and saw at least a pretty good amount of gaffers got keys.

Still, those codes have better shot at staying up longer as only members here can see it and it is not as public as a Google doc. Moreover those codes lasted a longer when Tony was doing the email tag feature. Things only went to shit after that Google doc.

Will the base game of Shogun 2 be on sale as well? I've been kicking myself for missing it through the Steam sale, and it would be absolutely fantastic if I can get the deal through Amazon instead.

Just do a CTRL+F for "google" you'll get a link to a google doc that looks remarkably similar to the one that was ruined.

I copy and pasted all of the codes in that one to compare...they are all from the original document that was wiped.

Case closed, but I'm still sad. Very sad.

Note: My purpose in posting this was to clear up any confusion as to whether or not I was "jumping to conclusions" regarding the source of the issue with the original giveaway document.
