THEATRICAL TRAILER - RED BAND TEASER

The American Pie gang is back, with the whole cast returning including Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Jennifer Coolidge, Seann William Scott, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari, Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, Natasha Lyonne and Eugene Levy.

Directed by Harold and Kumar creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.

Synopsis:
In the comedy American Reunion, all the American Pie characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t and that time and distance can’t break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler’s mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about—and get inspired by—the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.

American Reunion hits on April 6th, 2012.

Even though it's a teaser, this looks like it will be a lot of fun like the previous three.
Three? You mean five? Or was there even more...

Anyhow, the trailer looks boring and predictable. It's the same old shit jokes that weren't funny ten years ago. Pass.

I assume he refers to the original trilogy with the original set of characters.

And this was fun, I'm actually looking forward to it now.

Ha, funny. I like.

Remember watching the first film with my parents when it came out on tape, it was very awkward.

Haha, that was good.

Would be a wacky reunion this is. :D

"Hey Finch, what's the capital of Thailand?"

Needs more Sean William Scott and Eugene Levy.

Eh, who am I kidding. I'll see it one way or another, even if it sucks.

Holy shit I didn't expect much from this but that looks hilarious. It's weird that most of the cast from this haven't really done much since the last movie. Even Seann William Scott went from being in quite a few movies to pretty much nothing in the past few years.

Yeah that was okay.

But I was expecting them to play up the fact they are older. They didn't.

Eh. It's early I'll see how it pans out.

I'm sure half the cast of the original movie was desperately in need of a paycheck after years of unemployment, so I guess I can't really begrudge this film.

But still, it feels kind of needless and unnecessary. Ironically the premise is based around a high school reunion, a tradition that most people also seem to feel is needless and unnecessary given the advent of social networking sites. I graduated exactly the same year that American Pie came out and we had no 10 year reunion beyond a small gathering organized on some social network (which probably less than 50 people attended).

I wonder if this movie will follow the canon set forth by all those endless straight-to-DVD sequels? :)

I can't even... nope I can't explain how much I am ready for this. Can't do it.

I wouldn't mind if Stifler stole the show again like he did in Wedding, I know some people didn't like that but he almost always had me borderline comatose from laughter.

Who sucks donkey dick? JIM sucks donkey dick!

The only ones that count are the first three -- and this one. The other ones don't count.

That said, great trailer. Will see this. Cannot wait.

love on your sleeve
I'm excited to see this but I hope it's not just a rehash of jokes from AP1 and 2. Why the fuck is Jim still jerking off into socks anyway? Come on.

In high school, I seriously felt like I was taking crazy pills, because I swear I was the only one who didn't find these movies funny. I just don't get it.

That's why this movie feels seems so dumb and unnecessary. The originals were about the dumb things you do in the midst of discovering your own sexuality, but now we're talking about people that have been married for the better part of a decade. Jokes about secretly jerking off or looking at porn seem ridiculous.

But then, I've never been married. Maybe secretly masturbating is an even more appropriate for a comedy about marriage than one about teenage sexuality.

This is feeling like a reunion of people who's careers are near done. :(

Well except for Allison. She's set for life with HIMYM.

I'll still give this a shot and will probably like it as I did the three real AmPies.

Jacking off into a sock might be a little much but i doubt the whole secretly jacking off to porn is all that uncommon.

Sean Michael Scott always seemed decent at finding work since the American Pie films. BULLETPROOF MONK BITCH

all american pie movies except the first 2 were crap so i welcome the cast coming back. looks really good

Don't count the spinoffs because they don't... count. And I thought Wedding was funnier than AP2.

Gotta admit, just grimaced when I saw the thread title but I laughed hard.

Too bad that is probably the funniest scene in the whole movie. Not saying that to disparage the rest of a film I have not seen, but that was really fucking funny.

Considering that the series is named after the act of fucking a baked pie, I guess they've actually toned it down a bit :)

But yeah, who jerks off into a sock? Even as a horny teenager the idea never occurred to me. Even now, I think the friction burn from the fabric would be too much to bear. The only purpose of the sock (I thought) was to make for easy cleanup. But after 10 years, who hasn't learned to use some tissue paper or a dirty undershirt? Do other men just have such uncontrollable orgasms that they'll spray all over the place if they don't keep something directly covering their wang?

I guess that's the bothersome central disconnect for me -- you have someone who's been in a committed sexual relationship for years still acting like an incompetent teenager, when most of us that are still just dating learned smarter and better habits years ago. I think there's still plenty of great jokes and situations to be had about sex in your 30's, but it doesn't work to simply take teenage sex jokes and apply them to much older people.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
The teaser got a smile out of me. Honestly the nostalgia alone will probably be enough for me to overlook the inevitable crappiness of the movie. American Pie 1 and 2 were part of my childhood.
