Best buy local to you could have had it in store and shipped it out knowing that it would be delivered on the release date. When I worked there I was told that best buy has a better shipping infrastructure than amazon since there are stores in all states and we would ship things to local people all the time from the warehouse. That is also why the shipping varies so much when you get the stuff. Sometimes someone in the warehouse will take time and box it and sometimes we would wrap new laptops in fuckin cellophane and out the door with it who gives a fuck.
Also explains why you get the out of stock emails after an order that was supposed to be there. If someone cant find it in store they no pick it and it sends out that email. When I was working there I ordered a charger for my car and got a no pick on it. It was by the door and no one looked. I showed it to them after the fact and everyone was pissed because the no picks are supposed to be run by all the managers in the store. They knew where it was and the email I got said I could go to another store if I wanted or have it shipped. If you order something that is being held for a certain day sometimes the box is not even open in the back since it has the date warnings on it and we just no pick shit till we open the box.

Ok, I did it! I was able to get it through, here is what I did:
Everything with google translate
-Added Ness, Lucina and Robin to the cart (Those are the ones I worry about).
-Checked out.
-It asked me for my name and my phonetic name, I put my normal name in the first one and then used a english to katakana convertor for the phonetic one.
-Then it asked me for postal code, this one was the tricky part:
-Click on the Search addres part, then below it will give you lots of addresses, if you use Tenso most likely is Tokyo Metropolitan and Adachi-kou. Then it will give you the chance to enter the Address manually, its below in a big red button, look for it!
Then you can just paste your info as usual, remember you need a forwarding service for it to work and be sent worldwide, since they only ship to Japan.
Wal-Mart rarely if ever honors release dates for toys, they´ll just put them out when they feel like it or maybe just don´t get any at all. The release dates you see are mostly for online orders.
They usually prepare preorders the day before.
I usually just go with my phone notification in hand saying that I was told it's ready now.
Sometimes they give it to you, sometimes they don't. YYMV.

I called a couple BBY today to ask about stock regarding whether they had extra MK available (all the ones I called did, but wouldn't disclose numbers for whatever reason) and any D3's (all said no D3's unfortunately) for tomorrow, and my god, they must get calls all the time for Amiibo cause soon as they realize I'm calling for that, tone changes and assholeness ensues. One guy got real snotty with me and told me the complete opposite of the what the store General Manage told me when I spoke to him in person a few days ago (the GM didn't know about D3, which was the main intent of my call today) and said they'll be stocked in the back and basically a free for all, while the GM said they'd give out tickets and have them secured with a limit of one. Man, this Amiibo stuff is mess.
I work at Walmart and I don't know if this applies to just my specific store or the chain itself but last time I checked the system (about a couple days ago) Ike, Dedede, Megaman and Sonic weren't even in the system at all. We only have shelf pegs for Bowser and Toon Link. Heck we never ever got any wave two until just a week or so ago when we finally got Zelda and Luigi. I wish you luck man but I wouldn't put much faith in Walmart

Getting worried about my Sonic and King Dedede orders with Target. They both shipped out awhile ago, but the tracking numbers have been showing as "Not available" on UPS's site. They're supposed to arrive by the 23rd, but it's a little worrying when I can't track them.
I also got my pickup notice for King Dedede and Meta Knight at Best Buy. I'm hoping to try and arrive early since I'm kind of worried that it'll get lost/sold even though I preordered them.

The Mega Man I ordered from Walmart yesterday has shipped already. I ordered Dedede from Amazon as well but it hasn't shipped yet.
I would normally say the same, and the one Amiibo I own so far as open (Villager), but the amiibo packaging is actually pretty nice.

I remember when I worked at Target there was this lady who would call constantly (often just after closing) to enquire as to which Cabbage Patch kids they had. Exact numbers for every. single. one. (there was like, 20-25) And we had to describe them too, because sometimes she didn't even know exactly what she was enquiring about. Keep in mind, these weren't exactly hot products, so the stock could VERY easily be tracked online, quite reliably. And almost never actually came to get any (she called every Target in the city). Even then we just laughed at how ridiculous it all was.

Well, seems I'm not getting a meta knight and I wanted him the most. The more I think about the more I just don't want them. Only exclusive I could get was Rosalina because everything releases on a week day which normal people can't get in line for. The whole thing is just a joke. Tempted to just get rid of the ones I have at times because I can't even get the ones I wanted most.

Ya know, I'm going to preorder the ones I want from now on, but honestly, 3 months ago, I didn't know if I'd want a Meta Knight or D3, and honestly I had no interest in them. The only real reason I want them now is because of Kirby compatability. If I miss out I won't be upset, but I'd like to get them (with Kirby). Oh well, I figure I'll stop at a BBY after work and see what's up. Bad thing is that it's single digit temps out and probably negative with windchill in the AM. Are Amiibo really worth frostbite? Don't answer that.

Damn it. Walmart won't change the delivery address on my Mega Man and UPS wants $19 to do that. And I wouldn't get it until 3/3, a full week after the original arrival date of 2/24. It's in Indianapolis only 100 miles away from me. What are they gonna do, drive it 1,900 miles to Las Vegas and then turn around and drive it another 2,000 miles back to me?
