Hi all, this it the last time I will mention the amiibo LINE group (because it will probably be full).

For those of you that don't understand the point of using LINE, let me explain. The chat room on LINE is just a great place to chat with like-minded collectors. We can go off on tangents in there, get completely silly or even get together to play some Smash. It's simply an extension of AmiiboGAF and kind of brings us closer to being friends than just internet acquaintances. If you aren't in the chat, AmiiboGAF isn't missing any important amiibo news. If anything having our chat cuts the fat off this thread so only the most important in stock alerts and other news are displayed front and center.

Secondly, the in-stock alerts help gaffers that can't be checking the thread every 10 min. I can actually work and feel safe in knowing if Wave 4 goes up somewhere I will get a text like notification right to my phone. All of the alerts we've received have also popped up in this thread so you're not missing anything there either. It's just in a more convenient fashion using LINE. We aren't looking to segregate the thread and LINE, just giving people options on staying up to date with amiibo preorders.

Lastly as much as I'd love for everyone to join us from amiiboGAF, that simply can't happen with the 100 person limit in the chats. People interested have PM'd me and I think everyone is enjoying it and having a good time so far (I'm still shuffling through some, I haven't forgotten about you if PM'd!). That being said there are just a handful of spots left. If you enjoy talking to people here or would just like an easier way of keeping track of amiibo alerts, please PM me or Blue Namagem.

I have been using the Line chat for a few days now and I love it. The chat is super laid back and everyone is really helpful. I would get in while there is still room. Don't miss out on that wave 4 alert. Thanks for the invite CH4OS
 
Mega Man arrived today, so I'm done waves 1-3. And Toad is safely preordered (I'm already letting myself go crazy and get all the Smash ones, and I know that most any of these Nintendo puts out will be things I want, so I'm at least holding myself back from "duplicate" figures for now). So now I just need wave 4 to pop up for preorder so I can stop worrying about these for a while again.
 
Weird. My Ike from Target shipped 9 days ago, and its nowhere to be found. And the tracking number brings me to a 'Not Available' page...
 
I'm sure this has already been posted before (I can't keep up with this thread), but I just got a voicemail from Gamestop that my pre-ordered Dedede (that had previously been delayed until summer), is now in store and waiting for me to pick up.

I'm going to guess that since Walmart's have been atrocious with Amiibo stock, they probably aren't hit up as frequently by sellers, or regular collectors/users for that matter. Once word gets out that Walmarts are stocking MM and Sonic, unless those two become common, you won't be able to casually walk in one and find one of those two.

That said, I went into two local Walmarts yesterday, one because I had to anyways, the other cause I figured "why not" and I was right by it, and both still had crappy stock, save a few Zelda's and Luigi's with the paltry wave 1 stuff.

Haha! Yeah, it was pretty hard for me to catch up with all chats awhile ago but now we got more members so I decided to skip all conversations that occurring during night time when I was asleep.

We wouldn't get banned for off the topic unless you tried to disrupt on purpose but they probably would lock our thread tho.

That's what happened to SmashGAF thread. One night that POTD got delayed for long time so people went out of control and thread had to get locked.

That's awesome news! First I've heard someone delayed to summer getting it now instead.
 
I finally opened Sonic and Mega Man. They look fantastic. I'm still waiting for Ike from GameStop and Dedede from Target then I can open them up.
 
Cool, so GS (central Michigan) did have my Sonic.
"Hey, any new amiibo?"
"No sorr...wait, did you have a pre-order?"
"Yeah, for Sonic"
"THEN YES, we did get some!'

Can't wait to open him once I'm done with college.

That's why it's taking so long. They upped the print order, they lowered MSRP for ones that weren't selling as well to get shelf space, and they'll have plenty of the characters for everyone!

Pre-orders for wave 4 sold out in minutes in Japan (yes I got three of the six...was not fast enough I guess). So unless you got an inside track somewhere its looking worse than before because now there are more people ( and scalpers) doing this, a lot more. There are lots who are looking at this to turn a quick buck.

What you may have heard is that some stock has gotten stuck in the shipping strike. That would make sense and explain delays in getting perorders done. I think metaknight and the 3ds stock issues are related to the shipping strike.

The Amiibos can only understand you when you talk to them in the language of their region. So the European Amiibos understand five different languages, but the Japanese ones only understand you when you speak to them in Japanese, and the North American ones know English and French (sorry, México).

In other gaf communities, we've had to purge the community out of inactives, line's pretty bad for this thing.

It's not about exclusion, there is a limit plain and simple. We've been asking people to join for (nearly?) a week now.

I thought it was just LINE chat that was full, and there was also LINE alerts, not that I have bothered to try and join either.

Ch4os said before it was nearly full. He has a bunch of PMs to go through and once those people accept, there will no or a couple spots left at the most. So if you get that PM back from him, read it asap!
